How can i change the user name that i have --lion.
hi all,
i was wondering how to change my username. the one im referring to is the one that comes under the library icon. it is also the one that shows up under user when i launch my activity monitor application.
this is seemingly a different username that i use when i log onto my computer or verify changes.
There should be something called "System Preferences" and then "accounts" go to that. There you can change it.

iCloud email addresses can't be changed or deleted, but you can set up an alias namethat he can use which will be linked to his current iCloud account and will receive email in the existing iCould inbox. This guide explains how: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622.

If you have applications that were originally downloaded from a different Apple ID, you would need to sign out of the current Apple ID and sign in to the Apple ID that was used originally to download the application. To complete this process please follow the instructions provided in the attached article.

Once the My Information dialog appears, you can change the First Name and Last Name on the account. I'm using an iMac with OSX 10.6.8. The proceedure on your system is probably similar.
Get the Facetime window up, and go to Facetime preferences. Click on "account," you'll see a view account option that will prompt you to sign in with your Apple id and password. From there you can make the changes that you want. -

To change your iCloud ID, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account. To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
To change the ID on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, choose Delete for all the prompts (your data will still be in iCloud), then sign back in with the changed ID. -

Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then log in with your id. But if there is any content on the iPad from his account then you are probably better off resetting back to factory defaults via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings and starting 'as new' with it - content is tied to the id that bought/downloaded it so your account won't be able to download updates to any of his apps, and unless his account is authorised on your computer's iTunes and his content is on there then it will be deleted when you sync to it.
