through SM04 user who have the authontication can end the session so how can i check that who end the session being a BASIS admin.

For that kind of connectivity you need to be using an email account configured either as IMAP or Exchange.
IMAP & Exchange accounts will maintain a sync across all your devices, so if you read / delete a message on your phone, it will disappear from the server as well. This cannot happen in POP email accounts.

Alternatively, if its anything other than Google, you will need to contact your email providor or IT department (if your email address resides with an enterprise environment) to get the correct settings.

I have used Time Machine for the first time to back up my Macbook Air. Macbook Air's iPhoto shows approx 5200 pictures on file.
How can I check that the external hard drive (Time Machine) has all 5200 saved correctly before deleting the photos from the Macbook Air ?

The only way to check a back up is to do a restore of it.
However, why are you deleting your photos from the MBA? If you do they will also be deleted from Time Machine eventually. TM keeps a rolling back up of your machine. It copies and maintains your additions and deletions. Eventually, these photos will be deleted from TM too. It's not an archiving app.

I have oracle 10g database , we have dbconsole. But i don't know wherther we have the grid control or not ??? how can i check that ??
And one more thing , i have the oracle 817 databases , in need to register that database into the GRID . Can any one send me the proper doc. for 817 to install into grid control db.

A "default" install comes with three Oracle homes, with directories db10g, oms10g and agent10g in the 'basedir'. Kinda hard to miss...
With proper environment setup, you could try
$ emctl status oms

And one more thing , i have the oracle 817 databases
, in need to register that database into the GRID .

install into grid control db.No need to send anything, the documentation is available here on OTN (look in the top menu "shortcuts", Documentation -> Enterprise Manager).
There are several options (version dependent of course) available for deploying agents. But you need a OMS + Repository first.
Further discussion probably belongs in the dedicated Enterprise Manager.

There are several ways of verifying if server is still running
1) Through JCMon command line tool on server
Call jcmon as <sid>adm using following command
jcmon pf=/usr/sap/<sid>SYS/profile/<sid>_<instance>_<host>
jcmon displays the server processes in status "Running" if all applications have started successfully. Otherwise it displays the appropriate status message
2) Through SAP MMC which again shows the graphical status as Green
3) On NWDS using J2EE view
4) If telnet port is enabled on J2EE Engine, then you can remotely check the status of server using telnet command

iWeb uses the domain.sites2 files to store its assets.
You'll find it here :
~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/
where ~ is your Home directory.
If you take a computer with you, you have to store that file in the same location.
It's not different from taking documents with you if you want to edit them.
A solution is to remotely control your computer at home.
TeamViewer, LogMeIn, Apple Remote Desktop or any VNC application you can use, like "Chicken of the VNC".

BPC 10.0 NW - How can I check & ensure I am the BPC administrator?

Dear All,
I am a BPC developer and have recently assumed BPC admin responsbility.
I am told that I am having BPC admin rights. But, I can see ONLY ONE environment and it seems there are few more environments that exist in the BPC server.
My understanding is:
If I am the BPC admin, I will be having access to all the environments. Since this is not the case, how can I ensure that, as a BPC admin, I have all the necesary rights and hence the access to all the environments?

Hello, the security in BPC is Environment based.
The original installation user has access to all environments.
Check if granting yourself SAP_ALL profile let's you access other environments or ask person with SAP_ALL access to add you to Admin team in other environments.

How can I check that all numbers in a serial number are numeric

I wrote a vi that checks to make sure that a serial number is in the "mmddyy-xxx" format, where xxx can be from 0 to 999. The problem is if I enter something like "012210-A1" it passes. Is there an easy fix to fail anything where xxx is not in the 0 to 999 range?

How can I check that a 27" Mac is manafactured since March?

My old 24 iMac has died following a terrible fall. Fortunately, my insurance company have allowed me to replace it.
Despite the online buzz about the display and fan problems, I am inclined to replace my 24" iMac with a new 27" - the insurance company are paying for it after all.
I have to buy it from PC World - in store, since I'm being compensated with a voucher rather than cash or cheque. (It's a barn like superstore who sell WIntel and a choice of 3 Macs).
Can I check from the box when the Mac was made? I understand that both the 21 and 24 have had a lot of problems and only buying one made since March will help me avoid these. I would be happy with a 21" if it meant it was more likely to be ok out of the box.
It seems strange to even be worrying about quality issues - I've owned an LCII, Bondi iMac, Angle-Poise iMac, a white G5 iMac and they all ran for five years without a hiccup.
Any purchasing advice gratefully received.

If you want to take the "online buzz" into consideration then you shouldn't be buying anything from Apple. Every product Apple releases is labeled defective or poorly designed by some group. Just search through these forums to see what I mean, especially the "yellow tinge" crowd. This also goes for any other product by any other company.
All anyone can tell you is their personal opinion. I have used Apple products since 1982 and have never, EVER, had any serious problems with my gear. From my first Apple II+ through my liquid cooled G5 tower, iPod, 24" iMac they all have performed as advertised. My three adult children all have iPhones and none of them have experienced the issues claimed to be widespread and universal by some. My daughter bought the 27" iMac when it was first released. No problems at all and she is as happy as can be with it. This is the majority experience.
Buy the 27" iMac and be happy with it. You won't have fan issues, you won't have a yellow tinge on the screen, and it will run fast and stable.

How can I ensure that iTunes recognizes the correct feed?

I'm in the process of transfering my podcast to a new website. I've been using podpress, so I had my web team enable the iTunes:New-Feed-Url option and enter the new feed url. After a week it still hadn't worked, so I uploaded one more episode to the old site hoping that would kick it over. Another week passed with no luck.
Then I realized my team had entered the wrong url! I changed it to the correct url, and waited another week but it didn't work. I uploaded one more short file to the old site and after two days the iTunes store hasn't picked it up. I fear that somehow the iTunes store sync'd up with that incorrect url.
To complicate matters further, I also replaced the mp3 of the episode which appears in the store with a new mp3 telling users about the feed change. Now that episode won't download or stream throug hthe store.
So how can I get the proper feed url synced with iTunes? How can I tell what url is currently feeding iTunes? And if that feed doesn't exist, does that mean I will need to create it and set up another iTunes:New-Feed-Url thing using podpress?
(PS- It would be great if iTunes allowed us to simply update the url manually ourselves!)

This does have the 'itunes:new-feed-url' tag but it reads:
<itunes:new-feed-url>http://maxwellinstituteblog.org/feed/podcast/</itunes:new-feed-url>
which is therefore redirecting to itself and as a result having no effect. The announcement about transferring the feed appears when subscribing but it was only posted yesterday so it's not surprising that it isn't in the Store yet. In any case you don't need it; just put the correct URL in the redirection tag and make sure to leave the original feed in place for a couple of weeks to give your subscribers plenty of time to check it. They will be transferred to the new feed and won't even notice; the Store checks feeds periodically so will transfer to the new feed on the next check. This transfer is permanent, so don't make a mistake in the URL!
To check on the status of the feed, subscribe from the 'Subscribe' button in the Store page. Control-click (Mac) or right-click (Windows) on the title of the podcast in the 'Podcasts' section of iTunes and choose 'Copy podcast URL'.
This will show the new feed URL if you have entered the redirection tag correctly, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the Store itself is using that feed. You will know when it does because episodes not in the old feed will show in the Store. It usually takes a couple of days or so for the Store to catch up.
