How can I close the music player?

Good morning,
     I just bought an iPod nano 6G, and this is my firs Apple product.
     Anyway, there is something that is bottering me. I use the iPod as a watch, and sometimes I use as music player. After I'm done listening to music and want to use the iPod JUST as a watch, when I press the Wake button, to visualize the hours, it shows the music player. And there is this 'pause' icon in the top bar.
     Isn't there a way to close this player???

It might help to also put the iPod to sleep from a screen other than the Now Playing screen when listening to music.
As I said already above...
Again, others have synced their iPod with iTunes after making sure this setting was On and it worked from there. Is your Nano running the 1.2 firmware?

You should be able to select Force Quit from the menu beneath the Apple icon in Finder
and choose to Quit iPhoto from there, without messing up the Mac OS X in the process.

Not sure if rebuilding the iPhoto library would help this issue. However if you had to
turn off the computer without the correct method (unplug, etc; instead of menu choice)
the system may have accrued damages and should be checked, maybe repaired by
use of the Disk Utility in the system. Or restart the computer in Safe Boot mode, then
run 'repair disk permissions' while it is running in that reduced mode; then restart after.

Suggestions on how to use Safe Mode in article, to resolve issues, may be helpful.
There likely are other means to rectify troublesome applications, including reinstall.
Be sure to backup your music, image, video, and other work on an external drive
or suitable device as a precaution against loss should there be a hard drive failure.

First, are you positive it is really not there? Have you looked in your iTunes folder in your Music folder, and in the media folders there? Do you see your media files?
If your media are gone it is a lot easier to restore from a proper computer backup. Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

You should be able to recover the media with the tips in this post from forum regular Zevoneer but I'm not sure what the implications are for your application settings. You can probably transfer your purchases into a newly authorised library, backup the device, recover any other media using third party tools, then restore the device from the backup. That should switch the assocation of the device to the new library but it is not something I've personally tested.
When you get it all working, make a backup!

Ok, so my whole family has the same apple ID so that we can all get the same music, and we want to be able to use icloud so that when one person buys a song it will push to all of our devices. But the problem is when I want my calendar on my mac to also be pushed to my phone it pushes to all of my familys devices. How can i keep the music pushed to everyones but the calendar and notes just between my phone and my mac using icloud?

Oops my bad...I see that during my troubleshooting I inadvertently left Ringtones unchecked in iTunes.

You can't do that.
And before you decide to store any music that you own on a computer at work, talk to your IT department. Many organizations do not permit it for legal reasons. Standard policies are that anything stored on company owned computers is the property of the company. It could not be legally stored on their machines unless you transfer the licenses and all copies, physical and digital, to the company, meaning you no longer own the music. If they were to be audited and could not prove that they own the music, they would be subject to copyright violation penalties. Just use your iPod when you're at the office if you want to listen to music.

There is no "adding" a device. Simply plug the iDevice into the computer. iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit.

Hello, thank you for your prompt answer. I did have an idea that Home sharing might be the answer but could not quite figure out how to do it. I have enabled home sharing in my iTunes account, put in username and password, clicked on creat etc. But the homs sharing icon doew not appear in the left side of iTunes. So I got stuck. Your description of the problem is a bit confusing. Do you have ONLY ONE Apple ID or do you have MORE THAN ONE?

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. Here is a guide about how to copy iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.
