How can I completley restore my Macbook back to an earlier time from my G-Drive Time Machine?

I'm not talking about recovering a few files, I need everything restored. Thanks.

how can I export a video that will loop indefinitely when played from a usb drive?

As far as I know, PPro does not have that capability
If you were creating a DVD in Encore, you could put an "end action" on the video timeline to itself... so at the end of the DVD video it would go back to the beginning
I am not aware of any way to do that for a simple file

I hear a lot of disk I/O from my iMac 1TB drive.  How can I see apps may be running in background?  Time Machine is not running.

If you wnat to see the applications that are running, open the Activity Monitor application (it's in /Applications/Utilities). After opening it, select "All Processes" above "Show" in the toolbar, and you will see all the processes that are running.
I/O errors often happen on a damaged hard drive. If you are receiving that error, you should make a backup with Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner as soon as possible and take your Mac to an Apple Store or reseller to get another hard disk.
If the warranty is void, you can try installing it yourself, but note that there are some iMacs which are very difficult to have the hard drive replaced. Search the steps in iFixit > http://www.ifixit.com

  • How can I completely Restore my Macbook Pro W/Retina Display?

I want to restore my Macbook Pro to its factory settings because I feel like its been going too slow, BUT I want to keep the pictures and some Documents. Is there any way I can do that? Restore my mac but make sure the pictures and documents i need dont get deleted?

Either move the stuff you want to keep to an external drive or do a full backup first. If you go the full backup route you can restore just documents (which would include pictures) via Migration Assistant.

  • How can I get all my data back after erasing my iPad from find my iPhone?

What happened is that I have 2 iPads . So I deleted the two from "find my iPhone" so  one already got deleted but the other one is still awaiting to get delete. What I want to know is that the one that is not deleted yet is using the same ID as the other one... So the other one has the same ID but already did the backup therefore it's supossed to get all its inforMarion back with the ID but the other one has that ID so how can I get my data back and the one that already got deleted?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to know how to restore one iPad from the backup of another iPad. Take a look at the article linked below, it’ll walk you through the restore process which will prompt you to choose the backup that you would like to restore from.

  • Restoring my Macbook Pro system to a Time Machine back up?

Due to having issues turning on/off my a fairly new laptop, I had to reinstall my OS on to it. Before this occured I was backing up my computer onto a WD external hard drive via time machine. Now that the OS is reinstalled and my Macbook Pro is working fine, I am wanting to restore my system, preferances, everything on to it. I have tried using the Command-R at start up, the Migration Assistants and Time Machine its self to try and restore my system. But it would either not recoginze the fact that I have the external hard drive plugged in and there ready to go, or if it does recoginize it, it would not recoginze that it has any back ups on it to restore to. When I go to see the contants of the external hard drive from like the desktop/Finder it shows that it has a file of backups with contents in these folders of backups. Is it still possiable to restore my system and not have to start from the ground up? and how so? or at least use/retrive varies things from the backups if not the whole system??
Anything would be great, I don't want to loose everything and start from the ground up, when I had been backing up my computer.

    Hello ANDREW KC NICHOLAS CSERESNYES,
Sorry to hear that you have been having trouble restoring your Time Machine backup to your MacBook Pro.  I understand that you have tried a few methods including Migration Assistant, but your drive does not show up.  In Migration Assistant, the drive may not show up as "Time Machine backup" and might just be called Macintosh HD:
The following article outlines what you should see in the "Time Machine or other disk migration" section:
How to use Migration Assistant to transfer files from another Mac

    I hope this helps!

  • How can I locate pictures that were backed up to my time capsule

I backed up my macbook air to my time capsule. But how to I find photos once they are backed up?

If you are asking about the iPhoto Library, it is not possible to browse individual images. Instead, you have to restore the entire library back to your Mac.
To do that, open Time Machine and navigate to your Pictures folder. The iPhoto Library is inside the Pictures folder.

  • How can I be sure that the back up to my time capsule has backed everything up as when I enter time capsule and interogate the back ups i can't identify individual music or picture files?

How can I confirm that the back up to my time capsule has backed everything up as when I enter time capsule and interrogate the backs ups I can't identify individual photo or music files?

You cannot browse a Time Machine backup with the Finder. To restore individual music files or any other files normally available in the Finder, open your Music folder then "Enter Time Machine" using the Time Machine icon.
Restoring individual photographs is slightly more cumbersome. Apple recommends restoring the entire iPhoto Library, but if you want to locate an individual photograph you could use Time Machine to restore the old Libary. Restore it to an alternate location to avoid overwriting your existing one. Open iPhoto while holding an Option key, open the restored Library, find the photo you need and export it, close iPhoto, re-open it with your usual Library, and import the photo.
Time Machine depends upon a number of sound engineering principles for reliable operation, one of which is "faith"
Your files will remain intact until your Time Machine backup device becomes inoperative.

  • How can I make readyNAS duo 4.1.12 work with time machine?

ReadyNas support don´t seem to have a clue. I have tried to desable cifs and afp and put it back as I read on other forum but with no effect.
Time machine can´t access the backup disk  ReadyNas and  display OS status error 2.
    I appreciate any help.
    Thank you.

Is the NAS designed to work with Time Machine, because Time Machine isn't designed to work with a NAS.

  • How Can I COMPLETELY Restore My Macbook/Recover My Lost Bootcamp?

    Hey guys,
I'm new to the forums but have been snooping around reading topics on my issue for a while. I haven't found any solutions so I decided to actually post.
I have a late 2008 unibody Macbook (250 GB, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400m, etc.) that I bootcamped with Windows 7 64 bit about six months ago. I did this so I could use some coding environments and other applications for school that were only available on Windows as well as some gaming. Everything worked great. I had allocated 130 of my 250 GB hard drive to the Windows side to allow for more space for games and such. It was all great and I could easily switch between the two using the keyboard startup disk shortcut.
...Until I upgraded my OS X side to Mavericks...
I had switched back over to the OS X side to upgrade to Mavericks. I did it, it worked smoothly, whatever whatever. After upgrading I wanted to switch back to Windows, and the Windows partition was unavailable. I couldn't boot into it through the Startup Disk in System Preferences or using the keyboard shortcut. It simply disappeared. I freaked out.
After checking my Disk Utility, my Windows partition had changed it's name to something like "disk0s4" or something like that. It was unaccesable through any method on the OS X side, but the 130 GB of space was still being taken up by something (Bootcamp I presume). I couldn't get to it. It's honestly not that big of a stress, as all my school documents and stuff is stored on Dropbox in the cloud, but it still really bothers me. Of my 250 GB hard drive I can only use 120 GB of it. I don't care about the Windows side anymore. I just want to restore the 130 GB of space to the OS X side and start over.
I read online somewhere about someone with a similar problem after upgrading to Mavericks, and their solution was to COMPLETELY wipe the HDD and start over loading Mac OS X from a disk. Honestly if this is the only solution, I'll do it. I can always re-bootcamp and re-download software.
Since all my important documents and stuff are stored on the cloud, there's nothing too important on my hard drive right now (Mac side or Windows).
Here are some screenshots of what my Disk Utility looks like:
Any solutions or help to completely reset my computer or recover that 130 GB back to the OS X side would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks, guys!

My macbook pro randomly switched off and wont turn back on. I have tried to charge it but it wont work. How can I get it to turn back on??

It's more than likely broken, a part has failed. You need to take it to a Apple store Genius Bar to be checked out and fixed. Or just buy a new Mac as to fix the one you have might be cost prohibitive. Especially if your warranty has expired.

When you use the Lion restore as described, it does a fresh install on the hard drive that you can select at the beginning of the process.  This provides a complete install of the very latest version of Lion, including the recovery partition.  The drive that you choose for the installation destination winds up like what you would have on a brand new computer from Apple.
