How can i configure an imap e-mail account in Mail 5.0?

When I open mail 5.0 (in OS X Lion) I don't see the "automatically set-up account" option to be able to clear it, so the only way to configure mail is to do it automatically, and it configures my account as a pop account. Any help?

So I had the same problem and expected it to change with Ios5 but it's still the same. Settings in my iPhone4 v5.0 shows my Mac.com asthe account but Mac.com address is STILL grayed out when sending mail. Can ONLY send from me.com (which i NEVER use) It's not that way on my iPad, just the VZ phone. Very annoying.

Dear Suman,
To initiate the mails we first need to have SMTP connection. To check the same go to so00 and try sending mails to ur ID. If is successful it states that u have the SMTP access.
To create mails to Process chains:
Right Click on the Process varient select the Create Message in the context menu.
Select the type of mail i.e for successful, Error, Anyways.
Then follow the screens.
Note: The recipient type should be Via Internet.

On the Mac in System Preferences > iCloud
Make sure Mail & Notes is selected.
ON the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Mail is switched on.
And try restarting your Mac and iPhone.

I have the same problem. For years I have been able to delete emails from my ipad and have them remain on the server so I can deal with them on the desktop. Now they get deleted from the server when deleted from the ipad, which makes the ipad unless for reading mail.
You answered to delete the email account on the ipad and set up a new one as a pop. I have made many attempts to do that in the incomping mail server "Host Name" field but it always errors out even when the host name is equal to what my desk top has. So I can see no way to change away from IMAP. I started with an ipad 1 and now have an ipad 2.

In the early days of it I gave it a try out of curiosity. It was quirky then, too. It does appear to be much better but Apple still doesn't help much with documentation on making the most of it. And, they tend to leave much work to the user to maximize its usefulness. I suppose that's why many users would rather spend the $199 for Dragon Dictate - it takes all the mystery out of speech recognition.
But still speech recognition in OS X is really a way of issuing commands. It doesn't type while you talk like Dragon Dictate or Dragon Express.

I had this working in Server 2.0 dunno why it doesn't now, but I can't find the config.

It's fairly straight forward and there is a GUI option to help you.
In the Server app, go to Users. Select the User you want to create email aliases for. Right click, or hold down Shift-Ctrl and click on the name. Select 'Advanced Options...' from the menu. You can then enter as many aliases as you want in the 'Aliases'.
For example: [email protected], @xyz.co.uk, [email protected]
My example is overkill as I only really needed to add '@xyz.co.uk' as a catch all get everything sent to that domain delivered to that users email address.

How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline in FCP 7 (yes, I have X, but I'm using 7 right now). I have two monitors running from TB2, but want to have the third for a client monitor.
If I use all three via TB2, it's literally three monitors, and I want to edit on my CineDisplay. I only want the client to see the timeline video on the third monitor. When I hook up HDMI I get no signal, in fact, I can't have the HDMI cable hooked up for TB2 to work with the third.

How can I export songs from my iTunes to a mail program/computer? The songs in question are originals composed by my boyfriend in Garage Band. We have full rights to them, but they import into iTunes like all the other artists songs. His hard drive crashed and I have the only copies. I have no access to my iMac for 2 months while we tour our show and we need them on the tour. We are in dire straights if we can not access these songs and the iPad will not hook up to our equipment. Plus we need to add a track to a promotional video. So how can we access our own music?

If they are in the iPad's Music app then the only way to get them out of it is by connecting the iPad to a computer. As they aren't iTunes purchases you won't be able to copy them back to a computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, instead you will need a third-party program on the computer to copy them off - there are some listed half-way down this page which should work: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

Integrity can be enabled when the system is not running on Storage Spaces. When
integrity is enabled and ReFS detects a checksum mismatch, ReFS logs an event and
fails the read operation by default. If you don’t want the read operation to fail, you
can configure ReFS to continue with the read operation. A related event will be logged
regardless.
So then how do I configure it to do that???
(And just to make it super-clear, I'm NOT using Storage Spaces, so there is no redundancy via mirroring/parity, and I'm not expecting any file repair - just detection of corruption. It's just a basic volume formatted with ReFS and
with integrity streams enabled, via format E: /fs:ReFS /i:enabled
For those who want more details, here's the situation:
I try to perform a read operation on a file with corrupted data (purposely done for testing using a low-level disk editor), I get a the following error message:
And an event ID 133 from ReFSv1 gets logged in the System log:
Clicking "Try Again" just brings up the same message, and clicking "Skip" skips the operation entirely.
This is indeed the correct default behaviour.
What I want instead is for the read operation to be allowed to complete, with corrupt data and all, and ONLY for the event to be logged. And according to William Stanek, this is supposed to be configurable somewhere - and after hours of searching, I haven't
been able to find anything.

We can use PowerShell command Set-FileIntegrity to configure this. The specific parameter for controlling this behavior is
-Enforce <Boolean>which indicates whether to enable blocking access to a file if integrity streams do not match the data.

Virtual PC does not support USB. Windows 7 XP Mode Virtual Machine supports the use of USB devices. Virtual PC and Windows 7 XP Mode VM are not the same thing!

Open mail > Preferences > Accounts
Select the account and click the minus button at the bottom of the column.
Quit mail
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist move this file to the trash and empty it.
~/Library/Mail/ and move all of the items in that folder to the trash and then empty it.
