How can I configure Autodesk to open offline help in Firefox instead of IE?

When I create a desktop link to the help file for 3ds Max it opens in Firefox, but when I access help inside 3ds Max it gets opened in IE. I would like to re-configure 3ds Max, if possible, to use Firefox, not IE.

Check with Autodesk support to see if that is even possible. AFAIK, that program is coded to with with IE specifically, and not with just the Default Browser.

I use a website with many links to pdfs. In Windows XP (probably an older version of firefox) I could right click on the link to open a new tab, and the pdf would open in the new tab. In Windows 7 (and updated firefox) when I right click to open a new tab, a new blank tab opens and Adobe starts up displaying the document in a new Adobe window. How can I change the settings to have pdfs open within the new tab (without opening Adobe)?

Tools -> Options -> Applications Tab
Under Content Type find Adobe
Under Action, Left click and select "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)"

When I have many tabs open, & I am viewing the 1st one in the row of tabs, how can I make ctrl+T open tab next to it instead of down at the end of all the tabs?

So I had the same problem and expected it to change with Ios5 but it's still the same. Settings in my iPhone4 v5.0 shows my Mac.com asthe account but Mac.com address is STILL grayed out when sending mail. Can ONLY send from me.com (which i NEVER use) It's not that way on my iPad, just the VZ phone. Very annoying.

I see an applications folder for example for "mail", can I add one for more applications?

In the early days of it I gave it a try out of curiosity. It was quirky then, too. It does appear to be much better but Apple still doesn't help much with documentation on making the most of it. And, they tend to leave much work to the user to maximize its usefulness. I suppose that's why many users would rather spend the $199 for Dragon Dictate - it takes all the mystery out of speech recognition.
But still speech recognition in OS X is really a way of issuing commands. It doesn't type while you talk like Dragon Dictate or Dragon Express.

HTML files are normally configured to open in a browser. The default on a Mac is to open the file in Safari.
You can right-click the filename in the Mac Finder, and select Open With > Dreamweaver CS5 from the context menu.
Alternatively, select an HTML file in Mac Finder, and press Cmd+I to open the Info panel. In the Open With section, select Dreamweaver CS5 as the default program, and click the Change All button.

I have a I-Mac with OSX lion ver 10.7.2 installed.
The printer is a Canon IP4200.

The first thing you need to ensure is that the printer is being shared by Windows. Hopefully you know how to do that but if not, reply with the version of Windows you are using.
With the printer shared by Windows you then add the printer on the iMac by opening Print & Scan and clicking the plus button under the Printers list. With the Add Printer browser displayed you can select the Windows icon. A window appears showing three columns. The first column is for the workgroup name. You may already see a names here such as Workgroup or MSHome. Selecting the workgroup the Windows computer is using will then show the computer name. And selecting the computer name will show the shared printer, although you may need to enter your Windows user name and password to see this printer share. Select this printer share name will then let you select the printer driver to be used on the Mac. Note that you will not be able to use Canon's driver for this, as it is not designed to work with a shared printer from Windows. Instead you will need to download and install Gutenprint. This will provide you with another iP4200 printer in the Print Using menu and this version will let you print via the Windows share.
If you don't see the workgroups on your local network or the computer name, or something else does not function as described above then please reply with details of what is not happening.

Make sure Mail & Notes is selected.
ON the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Mail is switched on.

How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline via HDMI

How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline in FCP 7 (yes, I have X, but I'm using 7 right now). I have two monitors running from TB2, but want to have the third for a client monitor.
If I use all three via TB2, it's literally three monitors, and I want to edit on my CineDisplay. I only want the client to see the timeline video on the third monitor. When I hook up HDMI I get no signal, in fact, I can't have the HDMI cable hooked up for TB2 to work with the third.

How can I configure printer with iPad to print only grey tones? This works fine from my laptop - not air printing from that one though. I can't find anywhere on the iPad how to do printer settings and this also seems not to be available as an option when doing a printout. In fact, no options seem to be available.
