How can I configure Speech Recognition to open specific applications

Hello Folks,
How can I configure Speech Recognition to open specific applications, such as Lightroom, Firefox, etc.?
Is there a way to add documents to do this to the speech preferences folder?
I see an applications folder for example for "mail", can I add one for more applications?
Any help would be appreciated.

In the early days of it I gave it a try out of curiosity. It was quirky then, too. It does appear to be much better but Apple still doesn't help much with documentation on making the most of it. And, they tend to leave much work to the user to maximize its usefulness. I suppose that's why many users would rather spend the $199 for Dragon Dictate - it takes all the mystery out of speech recognition.
But still speech recognition in OS X is really a way of issuing commands. It doesn't type while you talk like Dragon Dictate or Dragon Express.

Hi,
You can try to add new words to open bat file in Speech dictionary:
Say "start listening," or tap or click the microphone button to start the listening mode.
Say "open Speech Dictionary" and do any of the following:
-To add a word to the dictionary, say "Add a new word," and then follow the instructions.

Another way is to enable this policy:
Interactive logon: Do not display last user name
If this policy is enabled, the full name of the last user to successfully log on is not displayed on the Secure Desktop, nor is the user’s logon tile displayed;
If this policy is disabled, the full name of the last user to log on is displayed, and the user’s logon tile is displayed.
Press Win +X, then open the Run box, type Gpedit.msc, when opening the Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to the following path:
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options
On the right pane, find the above policy and then enable it.

How can I configure a printer which is connected to a Windows PC.
I have a I-Mac with OSX lion ver 10.7.2 installed.
The printer is a Canon IP4200.

The first thing you need to ensure is that the printer is being shared by Windows. Hopefully you know how to do that but if not, reply with the version of Windows you are using.
With the printer shared by Windows you then add the printer on the iMac by opening Print & Scan and clicking the plus button under the Printers list. With the Add Printer browser displayed you can select the Windows icon. A window appears showing three columns. The first column is for the workgroup name. You may already see a names here such as Workgroup or MSHome. Selecting the workgroup the Windows computer is using will then show the computer name. And selecting the computer name will show the shared printer, although you may need to enter your Windows user name and password to see this printer share. Select this printer share name will then let you select the printer driver to be used on the Mac. Note that you will not be able to use Canon's driver for this, as it is not designed to work with a shared printer from Windows. Instead you will need to download and install Gutenprint. This will provide you with another iP4200 printer in the Print Using menu and this version will let you print via the Windows share.
If you don't see the workgroups on your local network or the computer name, or something else does not function as described above then please reply with details of what is not happening.

On the Mac in System Preferences > iCloud
Make sure Mail & Notes is selected.
ON the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Mail is switched on.

How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline in FCP 7 (yes, I have X, but I'm using 7 right now). I have two monitors running from TB2, but want to have the third for a client monitor.
If I use all three via TB2, it's literally three monitors, and I want to edit on my CineDisplay. I only want the client to see the timeline video on the third monitor. When I hook up HDMI I get no signal, in fact, I can't have the HDMI cable hooked up for TB2 to work with the third.

Media is only where the user puts it.
Installing iTunes does not and has never caused media to magically appear on the computer.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer (or backup of the old computer) to the new computer.

How can I stop Game Center from opening every time I finish a game?

I despise Game Center and don't want to use it. Every time I finish a game of Real Solitaire, Game Center opens and bothers me about not logging in. This is on an iPad 4/128gb. You can also use the settings in Image Capture to set which devices open/not open specific Applications.
Open Image Capture from the Application folder and connect the camera or iphone. Once it is detected, you will be presented with an application opening list at the bottom left corner where you can select what happens when that device is connected including iPhoto, iTunes or none. Each device can be configured differently.
You may also have to go into the FinePix settings and see if there is a setting in that Application to turn off it automatically loading every time the camera is connected.
