How Can I confirm my Fusion Drive is working right after an OS re-install

I recently had a catastrophic crash that corrupted my OS boot. I took it to the Mac store and after some trouble, they were able to re-format and re-install OS X 10.8.5 which was the original install. However, I am having some performance issues in Sketchbook Pro and other apps that seemed to work great before. I restored my Sketchbook install from a time machine backup but wondering if this is an issue with hardware performance or if I should remove the app and re-install it fresh. The reason I focused in on the fusion drive was that it is billed as helping with performance of apps like PS or Other apps that might tend to have issue with lag and the tech that re-installed it said that installing the new OS fresh with the Fusion SSD in place was tricky. I am hoping to make sure I am still getting best use of the SSD. Any tips appreciated.

Thanks very much. I was reading that the "load balancing" functions are based on historical usage, should I expect that I would see some performance improvement over time for app performance?

Attached is a LV6.1 VI which will read a cell.
It will be looking for a sub VI found in the example C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\examples\comm\ExcelExamples.llb.
The returned value is a string value but there is no reason why it couldn't be a number. Just connect a numeric to the type connector of the Variant to Data function.

How can I get my ipod classic to work again after dropping it in water?

I dropped it in soapy greasy water, is there any chance that I can save it so I can use it again?

On the iPod, create an On-The-Go Playlist.
Navigate to the first Playlist you want to use; press-and-hold the Select (centre) button until the Playlist name flashes. This puts that playlist into the On-The-Go Playlist, which is located at the bottom of the Playlist menu.
Now navigate to the second Playlist you want; press-and-hold the Select button until the Playlist name flashes. This has added the second Playlist to the On-The-Go Playlist.
Repeat for each Playlist you want to add.
Once you have added all the Playlists you want, scroll down to the end of the Playlist to On-The-Go list. If you go into the On-The-Go list, you will see all the songs form your other Playlists, in Playlist order. Simply scroll to the first song and press the Select or Play to start the first song playing.
By the way, there was no missing manual. No manual was supplied.

How can I delete a duplicate drive in the folders area?

Not sure how I ended up with a shared network drive duplicated under the folders area of Lightroom 3.6. Maybe it was a user error but now my network drive where I have 15,000 pictures appears twice in the folder area and it is constantly updating (since there are quite a few pictures).
How can I delete the duplicated drive? I have "removed" all the folders under the duplicated drive (and made it disappear) but the drive keeps coming back as the synchronization process will add all the folders that exist on that drive.
The two drives with "Volume_1" in the name are actually one shared network drive (I only have one).
I actually removed my network drive mapping (N:) to fix the problem but that did not even work; LR still found a duplicate name for the same network drive and started to synchronize (again). Help!!

The seller is starting the bid at a very low price, which raises some concerns for me. For this thread, let us assume that the iPod has a broken hard drive that needs to be replaced in order to function properly. I am assuming that merely 'restoring' it would not suffice. Yes, the red X icon is usually a sign of a bad or damaged hard drive. Sometimes, restoring the iPod will resolve the issue, but rarely. Other users were able to smack the ipod against the side of their leg and gain back full functionality of the iPod.
However, if no such luck with either, your next option would be to replace the drive. For this task, you can either opt to repair and replace the hard drive yourself, or opt to send it into a third party repair business to do the job for you.

Read and follow the Bootcamp Installation instructions that you were offered to view when you ran Bootcamp Assistant.
Run Bootcamp Assistant again and select the option to download the Bootcamp Support software. Follow the instructions. Then boot into Windows and install the Windows Support software you downloaded and saved.

Hello everyone,
My macbook is now four years old and the last wipe is a while ago. My hard drive is quite ful and I don't really know what I can delete and what not. There's also 26 GB in Movies which don't appear nowhere. I really would like to get rid of them but don' know how. So, is there an application like CleanMyMac that is of any use or how can I wipe the hard drive myself (after I saved all my data)?

How can I add the hard drive icon to the menu bar on a MBPr? I have downloaded Google Earth and it wants me to drag it to the hard drive for install. I was able to display the icon but now I would like to put it on the menu bar. Is this possible? Or can I add it to the hardware section under system preferences?

It's on your Desktop, is it not? You cannot put it on the menubar through OS X although you may find third-party utilities that will. If you want it on the Desktop:
Select Preferences from the Finder's Finder menu and check the desired boxes:
Click on the Sidebar icon in the toolbar to set what you want displayed in the Sidebar.

The best thing to do is to download Oracle's latest appropriate
driver from their site, and edit the start-weblogic script to
make sure the downloaded driver is ahead of any weblogic stuff in
the server's classpath. We do ship a driver, but Oracle usually
has a newer better one very soon after that...

To prepare it for sale you should follow these instructions:
What to do before selling or giving away your Mac
In addition to the above:
If you enabled FileVault, disable it in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
"Deauthorize" your iTunes account. Same for Audible if you have one.
System Preferences > iCloud > de-select "Back to My Mac" and "Find my Mac".
Sign out of iCloud. Select "Delete from Mac" when it appears.
Then:
Start your Mac with its original System Installation DVD (if your Mac shipped with one) or OS X Recovery (if it didn’t).
Remove any Open Firmware password if you created one: select Firmware Password Utility from the Utilities menu and remove it.
Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
Remove any partitions you may have created.
Select the Mac's hard disk icon, then select the "Erase" tab.
Select the "Security Options" button and erase the disk.
The more "securely" you erase the disk, the longer it will take. The fastest method is sufficient since all but the most expensive techniques and equipment will be able to recover securely erased data.
When it finishes, quit Disk Utility.
Select Install Mac OS X from the Utilities menu. Do not create any user accounts.
When it finishes, shut down the computer.
If you want to install the bundled apps that were included with your Mac, restart by using your Applications DVD and install the bundled apps.
Don't forget to include any DVDs that came with your iMac, your AppleCare certificate if you bought it, printed documentation, even the box if you still have it.
Execute a bill of sale showing the Mac's serial number.
Once no longer in your possesion, remove the Mac from your devices in My Support Profile.

You aren't being hacked. Your wireless network is probably misconfigured and/or hacked. Turn on WPA security and then reboot it.
