I purchased an app for a member of my family but I didnt receive a confirmation email. Will I get some notification when they download the app? Is there some way I can tell if they have downloaded and installed the app?

You can't access them on Windows (unless you have iCloud enabled Windows programs) and I don't think any are, yet.
iCloud data is accessed via Apps/Programs, the Windows programs vendors will have to step up (just to make it worse Microsoft have not yet enabled their Mac programs, such as Office yet) I doubt that iCloud access is much of a priority for them, complain to MS, when enough Windows users complain maybe they'll do something.

Sorry, but there's no way I know of to restrict downloading to free apps only. You can turn off purchasing of apps completely, but if purchasing is allowed, it's open other than by age range. You can of course remove any purchase method, but I don't believe that blocks the purchase; you just end up owing money.

A "default" install comes with three Oracle homes, with directories db10g, oms10g and agent10g in the 'basedir'. Kinda hard to miss...
With proper environment setup, you could try

There are several options (version dependent of course) available for deploying agents. But you need a OMS + Repository first.

How can I open an Apple App account for downloading free apps? I will not let me open a new account without a sim card.

I just bought a used 1st Generation Apple iPad 64 GB, 3G. How can I open an Apple App account? I am trying to download a free app and it says I have to have an account, however, everytime I try to set up a new account I can fill only fill out some of the information but then the screen goes black and I cannot proceed with the account. At one point it said "no sim card" and I am not sure where one would go if I had one. Do you need a sim card to download free apps? Why won't it let me set up an Apple Account? Any suggestions?

I can think of no reason at all why you need a sim card to creat an Apple ID. Try this first - reboot the iPad and reset the memory.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Afte the iPad starts up again, follow the directions in this support article - exactly - to creat the account without a credit card.

IF ... You are signed into another Apple ID on the iPad you will have to sign out of that ID in order to create a new one. Settings>Store - you can sign out there.
You MUST try to download a free app in order to start the process off correctly. If you were using an email address with another ID that you already created, you will have to have another email address to associate the new ID with.

You can step through the process of changing the email address that the gift was sent to. If the email address can be changed, then the gift has not been redeemed.
You can edit or change the recipient email address for your iTunes Gift as long as your recipient hasn't redeemed your gift. To edit or change the Gift Recipient email address, tap the recipient email address on the Gift Details screen from your iOS device.

How can I confirm that my extensions are compatible with FF ver 4 and ver 5 before I upgrade?

When I have upgraded in the past I have been affected by extensions that do not work in the new version. How can I determine if my extensions are compatible with new versions. I have looked at knowledge base and other help but I can find nothing.

Checking my incompatible extensions now seems to be less than when I just casually reviewed the list. Perhaps authors are still updating their products.
Most of my incompatible extensions are not critical. Perhaps the most important is AARDVARK which I use extensive prior to printing bank statements.

Items that need to be downloaded apear to go into a Mozilla Download File. How can I access that file without having to download?

Clarification: I notice that items I have recently downloaded remain in what appears in the screen header as a file titled "Downloads" with the Firefox logo in front of it -- I assume this is a file Mozilla creates. I can't find it when I look for it. I only get to see this "file" and its contents when I need to download something to read or view. If I could find this "file", I wouldn't have to download, again, something I just downloaded yesterday for a reference check, and then need to check again today. Please excuse my sometimes lack of computer savvy.

You can right-click an item in the Download Manager widow and choose "Open Containing Folder" to go to the download location of that file.

How can I confirm that fix for JDK bug will be in certain JDK update?

Currently I am struggling with one of JDK bugs (link to issue). We would need it fixed in one of the JDK7 updates.
According to Oracle's bug tracker this bug has been fixed in JDK 8 and backported to JDK7 for version: JDK 7u66 (link to issue). Last released JDK is 7u60.
According to Oracle's page the next release of JDK 7 is planned for 15th of July (see page) but it states that it is going to be " Critical Patch Update" only.
Can we be certain that with the update on 15th of July we will get our bug fixed based on info from Oracle's bugtracker? Will this issue be included despite the fact that it will be "Critical Path Update"?

Only way to do that is to wait for the patch and then test it. Nothing else is valid.
If you have some sort of contract with Oracle then you have a support line and you can ask them. But even if they say yes it doesn't mean it will be there.
You could figure out the fix yourself and apply it to the VM using a command line option.

If there is any way to see in application, that an (Enterprise Asset Management) asset activity is on Preventive Maintenance Schedule or not?
Or if there is any flag in any table from where we will get to know that an asset activity is on PM Schedule or not ?

You can go to the PM schedule definition screen and enter the activity name to find out if there any schedules that use it.
On a table level, there is no flag as such but you can do the following to find out if there are any pm's that use the activity.

How can I confirm that I installed BO XI R2 SP3 and Fix Pack 3.5 correctly?

I installed both SP3 (Client Install) and Fix Pack 3.5 (Client Install) on my workstation. The Installation guide says it should appear in Add/Remove Programs, but I'm not seeing either entry. A log file was created for each install, is there anything within the logs that may say that the install was successful?

Under the Add/Remove programs section in the Control Panel. Select the Business Objects Application and there is a link that reads "Click here for support information"
The opened display box will display a Version such as 11.5.xxxxxx
Reply back w/ the version. SP# and 3.5 fix pack will be something like 11.5.9.1176

I went into certmgr.msc and I don't see India's NIC certificates listed as untrusted.
I'm running Windows 7 SP1 x64. How can I tell if I'm running the automatic updater of revoked certificates and how can I confirm that it's working? How can I see what certificates the automatic updater has revoked?

afaik these updates are just coming in over Windows update. Your KB2677070 might be superseeded ba another update, or included in a rollup you installed.

Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
