How can I connect my iPhone 4 while using IOS 7 that requires a USB 3.0?

I've been trying to connect my iPhone 4 (IOS 7) using a USB 2.0 Cable. I've jumped to the conclusion that I need a USB 3.0 cable to connect to my computer, in order to sync my files and music. I thought about splicing a USB 2.0 cable;31 pin connector that connect's to my iPhone 4, and using the other end of the USB 3.0 cable to connect to my computer.
The only problem is, is that I'm curious if that is a solution that will/would work?
I would love to have someone help me with this problem!
Thanks,
Steven Rupe
P.S.: My iPhone 4 (IOS 7) does not work with a USB 2.0 cable.

Download the latest itunes into your computer and install it.Do not connect the iphone before intallation. After intalling, connect your iphone with usb 2.0 and wait for the drivers to install in your pc.Open and Click on the iphone bar on the upper right of itunes software and synchronise with your pc and you are ready.
