How can I connect the airport via optical wiring?

Hi!
Does anyone know how to connect the airport in an optical way to a stereo?
Thanks!

You would need to use a 3.5 mm-to-TOSLINK adapter to make the connection. A number of vendors provide both these adapters, as well as, a complete cable with this type of adapter on one end and a standard TOSLINK connector on the other.

Best way for the first set up is to connect the Express via LAN cable to a computer.
Then enter the setup of the express and choose "Join a existing network"
After the setup is done, remove cable and you will see the Express in the Airport Utility

  • How can I get the Airport Express to handle all the PPPoE stuff?

Hi, I’m visiting my family in China, and now trying to help my dad, with his Airport Express and how to set up a PPPoE connection.
We have currently set up the Airport Express in bridge mode (not distributing IP adresses and selecting DHCP under the Internet tab in admin utility). The Airport settings on our two computers is set up to connect using PPPoE using the given login name and password. (ps! we can not see the Base station in Airport Admin Utility when using these settings, we would have to select a new location from the Apple menu to see it and make condigurations.)
What we want is to do, is to have the Airport Express connect to the ISP using a PPPoE connection and not through the computer.
I know there is a 'Connect using PPPoE' option in Airport admin util, letting me input account name and password. If I select this setting instead of DHCP, enable distribution of IP addresses and configure my Airport card to NOT connect using PPPoE, I will see my base station in the Airport admin util with the IP address of 10.0.1.1 (or similar) and my computer will have x.x.x.2. Next to the Airport icon in the menubar, a scrolling message will say 'Looking for PPPoE host' without anything happen. I am sure my account name and password is correct as they've both worked when using this computer to connect to PPPoE (like now)
How can I get the Airport Express to handle all the PPPoE stuff without using bridge mode?
Ps! Both me and my dad have iPhones whom we can’t seem to get to connect unless its been distributed an IP address cause there's as fars as I know, no options of inputing a PPPoE user name and password.

Any solutions to this? I'm in China also, in Beijing, trying to get my Airport Express to work with an ADSL modem.
Direct ethernet cable connection to my Macbook works fine.
When I configure the Airport Express with the ID and password that seems to be fine also – Airport Express shows a green light.
But I cannot figure out the settings to connect wirelessly from my Macbook to the Airport Express. I get a constantly scolling message: "Looking for PPPoEhost..."
    thanks

  • How can i use the airport time capsule as a external hard drive?

how can i use the airport time capsule as a external hard drive?

Why do you recommend not place things like iTunes libraries or photo libraries on the drive? It was what I am looking for...
I suggest that you ask the experts over in the iPhoto Support Community about their opinions on placing an iPhoto or Aperture library on the Time Capsule....even if you plan to use a wired connection for your Mac and the Time Capsule.
But, if Terrence Devlin answers, be prepared for a lecture about why you should not ever do this.
If you place the iTunes library on the Time Capsule, be prepared for iTunes to give you messages about not being able to find the library.
In addtion, LaPastenague has the answer for you in a nutshell......corruption problems.
Bottom line....the Time Capsule is for your backups.....not "everyday" files and especially not libraries.

  • How can i connect the Faulhaber Motor to MID-7654?

How can i connect the Faulhaber Motor (3564 024BC, with Encoder HEDM 5500 B12) to MID-7654?
    The Motor has following wires:
    A: Hall sensor green; A: Phase brown; B: Hall sensor blue; B: Phase orange; C:  Hall sensor gray;
C: Phase yellow; +5V: Voltage red; GND: Ground black
    The Encoder has:
    5: Channel B; 4: Vcc; 3:            Channel A; 2: Channel I (Zero impulse); 1: GND
I don't know how I can connect the encoder to MID-7654 using these wires (what is Encoder Index? Instead of this i only have Channel I !)
    Thanks!
    WLAN

Unfortunately there are different designators for the encoder signal which NI refers to as encoder index. In your case I am pretty sure that the I channel is identical to encoder index.
Other designators I have found are Z (z-ero signal) and R (r-eference signal) for the index signal.
Make sure that the index signal is at the correct level. For most applications it should be active low (i.e. it should be at high level during most of a turn and go low when the index mark passes the opto switch, I think it should be like this on most if not all Agilent optical encoders as you have it on your motor. This happens for a very small turning angle only and is hard to detect when turning an encoder/motor manually, so if you try to find the index signal turn the motor/encoder veeery slowly.

  • How can I connect the iTunes in my iPad (now with iOS7) to my Power PC Mac?

How can I connect the iTunes in my iPad (now with iOS7) to my Power PC Mac?

Nope, the top OS version for the IBM processor is 10.5.8, and under that version I can not update the iTunes further than the 10.6.3 :-(
But that means the brand leaves a large chunch os costumers with still perfectly operating computers out of the loop on purpose, so to force us to upgrade computer?
Not fair at all, both are legitimate Apple products, they should sync no matter what! The sad thing is theu used to, before I migrated to iOS7 on the iPad, move that I now regret...

  • How can I connect the ipad2 to an Epson Stylus SX445W wifi printer?

How can I connect the ipad2 to an Epson Stylus SX445W wifi printer?
Any help appreciated. Obviously I'm not technically minded so simple... Sorry... Very simple instructions would be great. Thanks

Does the iPad come up with a "no AirPrint printers found" message? If so, the most common fault is that the printer isn't on the same WiFi network as the iPad. Your printer may also need a firmware update. Epson has some support information here that may be of help:

How can I connect the first generation ipod to macbook air or macbook pro? Using an adapter?

    macbook air
The only theoretical solution is an USB ExpressCard adapter and FireWire ExpressCard. I don't know if anyone's actually attempted it.
    macbook pro
A FireWire 400 to 800 cable or adapter, also known as 6 pin to 9 pin.

  • HT1126 Can I connect the Airport Express directly to my wireless router?

The old owner of my house set the Air port for my use, gave me a password ... when I tried it, the password never worked.
DO not want to lose my old wireless system as it allows me to do more than just the Air Port.
    should I reset the system?

can i connect the airport express into an ethernet port in the wall
I assume you are asking about obtaining an Internet connection here.
First, temporarily turn off the wireless on a laptop and connect the laptop to the Ethernet wall jack with an Ethernet cable. Can you log on to the Internet this way?
If yes, then you can connect an AirPort Express to this Ethernet port and configure it to provide a wireless signal for multiple devices.
If no, then you can connect the Express, but you will not have an Internet connection.
