How can I connect to my printer directly through ethernet?

I have a Lexmark laserjet printer that's connected directly to my eMac's ethernet connection. I also have a third party usb wireless LAN adaptor that connects to my room mate's old airport to provide internet to me.
I can't find a setting with my Network Preferences control panel that allows the usb device to bring in the internet while the printer is connecting to my ethernet connection. I would think that usb device would connect through TCP/IP and the printer would connect through AppleTalk via ethernet connection. But I seem to be able to only do one or the other but not both.
I would like to find a Network setting that allows both connection to happen simultaneously.

You need to buy the right printer.
The iPad uses a print technology called AirPrint. Airprint is a particular communication protocol that flows over WiFi. So, having a WiiFi printer isn't sufficient. The printer needs to be of an Airprint variety of WiFi.

I do not have an Epson printer. However, I did look at their web site. It "appears" that the printer has no built-in wireless connectivity. However, I "think" you could set up a little wireless network with an Airport Express (see description on this web site). Do some research before you spend any money.

This only applies if you have a first generation Apple TV. Also I hope you have a router and are not connecting the ATV directly to the iMac.
Usually I sync my First Generation Apple TV wirelessly, but sometimes I'll have some huge media files I want to sync on it which can take a long time. In those cases all you do is connect your Apple TV via ethernet cable to the same router your iMac is connected to. Don't worry about it not being connected to a tv because all you are going to do is SYNC your Apple TV. If you do not see your Apple TV in iTunes, turn off the Apple TV, and quit iTunes. Then turn on the Apple TV first, wait a minute and then start iTunes. Once iTunes sees the Apple TV, manage your content, then sync it.
Once the Apple TV has completed its sync, quit iTunes. Unplug your Apple TV, and then put the device back by the TV you want to enjoy the content on.
I have done such a thing a few times and it works flawlessly.

Basically I would like to connect only via ethernet to my other mac.
I would in the mean time like to leave my Wifi on the MBP so that i can access the internet etc..
So the problem is my mac (MBP) would jumpt to wifi to connect to my other Mac Pro (the mac pro has wifi on as well)

Lone Mac in a PC networked office -- can't connect to the printer!

I know this is probably an easy answer, but I'm faced with an office filled with colleagues who can't help me and the company's computer technician knows nothing about how to help me. I've had no problem connecting to the network as far as the internet connection (satellite to router). But when I've asked about the printer, so I don't have to walk down the hall to use it, the technician has replied:

I am not very familiar with MAC’s so I don’t know the process for installing network printers. If you can browse the network for Mark’s computer the shared printer will appear and you should be able to connect to it. First, I am not too swift when it comes to figuring these things out cognitively; I have modest success simply flying by the seat of my pants. In this case, I've no idea what to look for, or where, in order to install the network printer, though I've read the "I can't print to a network printer" section in Mac Help. I've got it configured now, although I didn't think that the driver was typically contained in 92 MB of software. Thanks for that tip, but now I'm still faced with the networking issue. My airport is connected to the router, and I've managed to see the printer and host pc, and have configured the printer with printer set-up utility. I see it as an optional printer when I go to print, but now the print job simply disappears from the printing list after a moment or two and I find it in the completed jobs section (though nothing has printed out). Should I try one of the gimp options? I'd rather not have to pay a couple of hundred for a printer server if there's another way. Of course, I can always walk it down the hall for each print job.... Hmmm.

Look on Kodak's site. They have several options with Google Docs to enable you to print. The exact capabilities vary from model to model.
Also, you can use third party apps. I have print n share and it works just fine with my Kodak printer, but there's also printopia and print central and more I'm sure.

Does the iPad come up with a "no AirPrint printers found" message? If so, the most common fault is that the printer isn't on the same WiFi network as the iPad. Your printer may also need a firmware update. Epson has some support information here that may be of help:

Since it is a preinstalled apps, you can not delete it. As Ann said, depending upon your phone and OS, you can disable it. Check in the apps drawer. If you can not find it there, go to Systems>Application Manager, then flip the top files to "all". Next flip down the list until you get to Google Play Store. Tap on it and you will see a key titled "Enable". Tap on this and it should return to normal. You probably will have to put it on a home screen, if you want to.
