How can I convert a PSE 8 catalog to a PSE 10 catalog? I have tried numerous times over 3 days.
I have repaired the PSE * catalog even though no errors were found. There are no *.avi files in the catalog. The conversion has a slight hang up at 34% and again at 82%, continues to the end and reports that the conversion failed. Why do I and so many others report the same problem? I am using Win 7 pro and have plenty of space on the disk. I have too much info in the catalog to lose now as I have been labeling all my slides for eventual backup onto DVD's to send the approprate photos to friends. How do I make this conversion successfully when all the suggested methods do not work or is it better never to get an Adobe PSE upgrade?
Do you have any unsupported video files in the catalog such as AVCHD (which requires Premiere Elements) which may be causing the conversion to stall.
If not, try launching as admin by going directly to the application. Close the Organizer and go to:
C: >> Program Files (x86) >> Elements 10 Organizer
Right click on the file “PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe” and choose Run As Administrator.
Then go to:
File >> Catalog >> Convert
Try selecting your PSE8 catalog again and clicking the Convert button.
N.B. the exe file will be in Program Files on 32 bit windows.

How can I get my photos to print as they look on iphoto? Have tried my personal printer and Walgreens.
Im not exactly sure what you mean by color profile..can you specify? So i have a dslr canon and take great portraits and tune them to exactly how I want them to look, they dont print at all like the colors presented on my screen. If i antique them then they print yellowish. Ive even tried printing them at walgreens because i thought it was my new printer. Hp hasnt let me doown til now. Is ot a printer setting? Ive never had this kind of printing issue.

You need to install Office on the computer from the installer DVD or disc image you purchased.

While formatting an external drive with a Mac format is best if it will be used only with a Mac, if the files on the drive have to be accessible to a PC also, it's possible to format it in an exFAT format, which both the Mac and a PC can read from and write to. Wire in '448' to the 'New Permissions' of the Access Rights VI. This will set the file as readable, writable and executable. I just tried this (on WinNT, though).
The 'permissions' parameter is a 16-bit integer where the least 9 bits are used. Of these, for Windows, bits 8, 9, and 10 (0-indexed) are important (i.e. if these are set = integer 448). See online Help for full details.

I have a 27 in. iMac OS X, Version 10.7.5, Intel Core i5 and have a problem with the very loud and annoying fan running continuously. The fan starts up immediately upon powering up and stays on all the time. I have researched this on the internet and have tried resetting the SMC unsuccessfully. Should I try fan control software?
To reset the SMC means to reset the power management settings for your Mac. To do this, follow these simple steps.
1) Shutdown your Mac by going to the Apple Logo in the upper left hand corner of the screen and selecting "Shut Down" from the drop down menu.
2) Turn your machine back on while continuing to hold down the power button.
3) After the initial boot chime, your power indicator light should flash three times.
4) Your screen will remain black and you will hear the boot chime again. At this point, you may release the power button and allow your Mac to boot up normally.

I have done everything firefox says to do to change my home page. I want ti to be google but when I drag the icon over to my home page it only stays there for a few minutes and then bing shows back up. there is a little message that appears and says "someone has tried to change your home page and we have blocked it". I don't want bing aas a home page-don't know how it got on there anyway.
Try clicking Start -> Settings -> Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs
Look for something called Windows Live Search Protection or Bing Search Protection.
If you cant find that, try clicking Windows Live in the list, then clicking the change button. Untick anything that mentions Bing or the Bing Toolbar. -
I want to get 2 updates iPhoto and iMovie that are available and can't get past the requirement to add a payment source. I've gone through the process several times and will get a successful and then unsuccessful. The 1st note I get is that it hasn't been used for the iTunes store, which I never use....so frustrated.
Problem resolved. Learned from a tech that I could choose "none", which is grey in the choices. Did that and was able to then get my available free updates. I didn't want to set up a prepaid account and didn't have to. Seems to be a glitch in the system but I'm done with that on.

For this function module I have to populate material number and Quantity required and UNIT.Every thing working good. If the user forgets to enter unit or enters other unit where Quantity in ODS is not mentioned in terms of that unit.WE have to Convert the Quantity requested into the Qunantity that exist in ODS or DATA BASE based on the unit of measure .
Please suggest me how can I convert the UNIT of measure of quantity?

I have found 2 APIs

but I dont know what is view point and art work point.
I think artwork point = page points and view points = document points. am I correct ???What do you mean by 'document points'? Do you mean document units? Like centimeters or inches? If that, there's no API to do (well, kind of in AIUser.h, but that gives you back a string with a unit suffix). Frankly, its pretty easy to just figure out the conversion values for each type of ruler unit -- there are only five or so you need -- and then write a dinky function that takes a value in one or the other, looks up the current document unit and uses that to convert the value (one function for each way). You just need to figure out everything in terms of points (since pixels == points) -- in that regard, it probably helps to know that 72 pt == 1 inch. From that you can figure out pointer-per-inch|centimeter|millimeter|pica.
