How can I convert imovie into photo's

For iMovie 11, you will need to download a free tool called MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5. (Google it). This is a very handy tool to have if you make videos.
In iMovie, select the clip that contains the frame that you want. Right-click on the clip and select Reveal in Finder.
You should see the clip highlighted in the Finder. Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip. Move the playhead to the frame you want. Then click FILE/EXPORT FRAME. You can choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG.

How can you upload folders into Photos?

I am missing a critical feature: being able to upload pictures and corresponding folders into Photos. I have a vast number of pictures organized in folders. when importing these pictures, the folders and folder names disappear and pictures get randomly sorted as many of the older pictures have no geo tagging or time stamp.
in the past this was no problem as iPhoto as well as folder synchronization between OS X and I OS allowed to import folders.
this feature must be reintroduced, if not years of organizing thousands of pictures have been in vain. Or has anybody found a workaround?

You can't import folders into Photos.
Import a folders worth at a time and use Last import to create a new album from them.

Hi - thanks for the instructions but where do you get the option for Quicktime. If I do File - Export I only get the options for File name, place and size but no option that allows to select quicktime:-(

There are two levels on this Q:
A. If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
• iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay
• DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
• Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)
• Burn - only free alternative I know of on Internet. Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD

How can I convert .fla into .PSD?

I have a .PSD file that is a significant part of the website I am working on and I can only edit it properly with Adobe Flash Professional CS5 (out of the programs I have, GIMP doesn't work how I need it to). The problem is, I can easily open a .PSD file with Adobe Flash CS5 but I cannot SAVE it as a .PSD, it only allows me to save it as a .fla or something else that is an uncompressed .fla but I forget it's name. Neither of these work for what I need so how can I SAVE it as a .PSD or CONVERT it into a .PSD? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I`m trying to understand why you would need to use psd file on a website. A psd file can`t be displayed in a browser.
The usual way is to use a psd file more as a sort of archive for multiple images (for example all buttons on a website) and then to webexport the photoshop layers as slices or separate png/jpg files?
Anyway, you won`t be able to skip photoshop itself to save to a photoshop file.

Any idea??Well, you could write your own depacketizer for it...like was suggested / code was provided for / instructions for use were given to...on the ancient thread you dug up and posted on, but apparently didn't read.
Alternately, you could use FMJ as a JMF replacement as JMF apparently does ALAW-RTP...as was also instructed on the ancient thread you dug up, but apparently didn't read.
So yeah, my overall thought is... had you read the old thread rather than posting an SOS message at the bottom of it, your problem would already be solved.

You don't have to scan again. OCR apps can read from graphics files. If the OCR you pick can't use PDF, you can use Preview, or another application (e.g. Graphics Converter), to convert to a file format that the OCR can handle. All OCR apps should be able to handle TIFF. OmniPage Pro X can read both TIFF and PDF, but I wouldn't recommend it. It is overpriced, has no support, and is tricky to install on any OSX more recent than 10.1

In general, you open and edit the RAW photo in Adobe Camera RAW, and then either
click on Done and then in the Organizer, FIle->Export->As New File and select JPG
click on Open and then in the Editor do a File->Save As and select JPG
You would NOT want to convert an un-edited RAW to a JPG in general, as you would lose all the benefits of RAW (superior image quality) and while retaining all of the disadvantages of RAW (larger file size, extra steps needed, specialized software needed)
