Do you have your system backed up to Time Machine? If so, you can open your user Library and copy your Mail folder from Time Machine to your Desktop on your new machine; then copy THAT folder to your new machine's user Library.
To get to your user Library, open Finder and Go and press the Option key. Library will show up. Click on it to get into your user Library. Now go into Time Machine and you should see your user Library for Time Machine. Restore the Mail folder to your Desktop.

If you have an iCloud account, a Microsoft Exchange account, or a supported CalDAV account, you can send and receive meeting invitations.
Invite others to an event. Tap an event, tap Edit, then tap Invitees. Type names, or tap to pick people from Contacts.

How can I manage six email accounts WITHOUT them all appearing (twice) in the Folders column?
All I need is ONE INBOX (like Windows Mail used to do) ...
I can see in the 'Account' column of each message which email account it's using.
Then, I either junk or read the message, followed by delete or file to one of my created folders.
As it is, half my page is depth is taken up by 12 lines of Account names !!!

That still leaves SIX lines of Account names down the side. All I want is ONE INBOX ... (I can see which account each message belongs to in the 'Account' column...)

  • How can i remove the email account without deleting the email account?

    Hi
I have an old email account which I want to remove from Mail, which I know how to do.  However I don't want to delete these emails but rather park them off-site so that if I ever need them again I can easily re-import.  By removing the email account in preferences it says it will delete all the emails etc. from my computer.  Is my only solution to copy the emails to a different location, then delete the account and if needed re-import at a later date?
    Thanks
    David

You can do a couple of things.
You can Export the emails to a .mbox file then Import them in which will create an Import folder in Mail; then delete your email account. Or you can just disable the email account leaving it in your list of accounts only disabled.

  • How can I sync my email accounts to avoid having to manually delete or move messages

How can I sync my email on iPad to avoid having to manaually delete or move messages from different accounts?

Set all your email accounts up as IMAP (instead of POP3) so that the messages are stored on the server. Then whatever actions you take on a message on your iPad will be "in sync" across all other devices/computers you access that email account from.

  • How can I copy filters between accounts?

I seem to remember, back when I first switched my email to Thunderbird about two years ago, that I could duplicate message filters between email accounts rather than recreating them manually. Now I cannot find any way to do this. I'm reinstalling everything on my system, and while I copied my Thunderbird folder in its entirety from my backup, the filters carried over on only my primary account; my other accounts have no filters attached to them.
I have nine different email accounts set up in Thunderbird (and no, I cannot consolidate them or forward some of them into another, as these need to remain separate for a variety of reasons), and about half of my filters should run on all nine accounts (they apply color-coded tags based on source and keywords). I tried a filter import-export extension, but it wouldn't import anything. And I really don't want to manually recreate two dozen filters across nine accounts, one filter at a time.
If I can't copy or duplicate the filters from within Thunderbird, is it possible to go into the file system and copy individual files within the Thunderbird folder to accomplish the same result? I haven't identified anything in that folder that would allow this, but that doesn't mean it's not there—only that I don't know how filters are stored.
Suggestion for a future revision: Change filter management so that multiple accounts can use the same filter without having to duplicate anything. You can have a master filter list where you set up the actual filters, and each email account has a window where you choose which filters that account uses and what order they run in for that account. I can envision exactly how it should look and work, but I don't have the programming skills to write it myself, either as an extension or for inclusion into the main codebase. (I'm not even sure the way I would want this to work can be done as an extension, as it seems to me it would require a deep under-the-hood change in how filters and accounts are matched.) I'd be happy to provide interface mock-ups and detailed descriptions of the desired functionality, if there's someone interested in doing the actual coding.

    Yes you can,
The filter-files are in your "profile"\mail\"account"\
and in "profile"\imapmail\"account"\ and are named msgFilterRules.dat
You can open it in a texteditor (Notetab) and edit or you can copy from one account to next. Be a bit careful so you dont use filters where you dont want to.

  • How can I copy old emails from my powermac onto my powerbook?

    Hi,
Previously I used my powermac for my email account, but I now have a Powerbook G4, which is running tiger and I want to now use this laptop for emails etc.. I have already copied the Apple mail folder from the old computer (powermac) to the new computer (powerbook) and my mailboxes have transferred over into Apple Mail just fine, but none of the old emails have transferred over. I would appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to tell me how to do this.
    Thanks in advance.

I'd like to know how also. I've got an old iBoook G4 Panther and need to guy and upgrade to a later model, probably Leopard, myself soon. When I do I'll probably need to know how to answer your question.

  • TS4083 How can I sync all email accounts to my iphone?

There used to be an info section in iTunes that allowed you to sync email accounts from your iMac to your phone but this option seems to have been removed now from iTunes. Has it moved to iCloud somehwere? If so, how can I sync the accounts from my iMac? Thanks is advance for your help!

Thanks! I knew how to do that already :/ Just upgraded to a 5s and didn't want to manually enter my accounts and server settings again (there are 10 email accounts) as I actually don't remember most of the passwords. I backed up settings from my old iPhone 4 before swapping the sims over and have managed to restore the 5s from that backup which copied over all of my email accounts, great success! However, just had to access cpanel for all accounts to reset the passwords as they are not copied over.
Thank you for your prompt reply!

  • How can I change my email account name to my alias?

The Verizon email address all my friends, family, and business associates have used for more than 8 years (Jxx Sxxxx) turns out to be an alias. My primary account name seems to be JSxxxx. I recently changed to high speed enhanced and these things happened:
Outlook, where I receive my email, continues to receive all mail addressed to Jxx Sxxxx, just as it always has. If I compose a new email or hit the reply button, my outgoing emails SHOULD show up in the recipient's mailbox as Jxx Sxxxxx. Instead, they appear with the sender name Mxx Sxxxx (the name of my husband, the account owner). I need my own name back in order to get my emails read by business associates and others who don't know who Mxx Sxxxx is.
In addition, only email addressed to JSxxxx comes to my regular Verizon account (accessed at webmail.verizon.net). NO email addressed to Jxx Sxxxx comes to that account, which means that if I am away from my computer I cannot access my email at all.
How can I change my so-called account name to my alias without losing all the emails in my Outlook account? That is, how can I get rid of my primary account name, and substitute my alias?

  • How can i read multiple email accounts?

    hi,
my program is to get emails from multiple email accounts, and grab the attachments, but it doesn't work properly.
If there's only one email account, it works fine, but if there are more, it looks like that the program always goes into the first mail account to read the messages. i suspect that the 'Server' or the 'Session' are not reset before each connection, i printed out the connected 'Folder', it looks fine, but every time the 'Folder.getMessageCount()' returns the same number of messages as the first email account has.
    Here's my code:
// this is to get the folder, mostly 'inbox'
    // serverString is like: "protocol://username@host/foldername"
// all parameters are retrieved from the Database
    public static Folder getMailFolder(String serverString, String username, String password) throws Exception {

Assuming you're passing in the right URL, I don't see the problem.
Still, try change session.getDefaultInstance to session.getInstance
and see if that helps. If not, turn on session debugging and check the
protocol trace for clues. If you still can't figure it out, post the protocol
    trace.

  • How can i host multiple email accounts?

    Hi there,
    I've a problem.
I have installed Lion os x server with the latest updates.
I need help to set up Separate E-Mail Accounts for each Domain, so each Domain receives it's own mail.
I have the following domains that i want to host with emails.
    www.example1.com
    www.example2.com
Hosting of website is not a problem. I have it working including PHP+MYSQL.
But now..How can i setup to receive and send emails with both domains? (www.example1.com and www.example2.com)
I want to have something like this:
    www.example1.com:
    [email protected]
    Hostname: server.example1.com
    Outgoing: server.example1.com
    and
    www.example2.com:
    [email protected]
    Hostname: server.example2.com
    Outgoing: server.example2.com
for www.example1.com it's the standard one and works fine (including apple Push). But realy confusing that i cannot get it work with example2.com.
Can anybody help me? I've searched the whole web but cannot find a good answer.
Thank you very much in advance!
    JBressers

You can run multiple domains in postfix/Mac OS X server, but don't get bogged down with the hostname.
There is nothing wrong with mail for a [email protected] being delivered to/from a server.example2.com (or vice versa). Most users never see the hostname of the server in the process, so don't bother trying to create multiple hostnames on the server to make this work. If you're really bothered just create records in your DNS that map back to the same IP address (e.g. server.example1.com -> 1.2.3.4, server.example2.com -> CNAME -> server.example1.com) so users can use either hostname.
For the accounts, there are two ways of managing multiple domains, depending largely on your comfort level with the command line vs. GUI, and how the users map.
If the usernames are the same (e.g. [email protected] is the same person as [email protected]) then the simplest thing to do is tell postfix to accept mail for both domains - mail addressed to either domain (example1.com or example2.com) will route to the same user's mailbox.
If your users are different then you can either use Mac OS X-style aliases or postfix aliases.
The Mac OS X-style aliases work through Workgroup Manager - you add all your users to the main directory, and create additional shortnames for each user's email addresses. For example, you might have a user 'joe' who is also '[email protected]', so add that second email address as a shortname.
Postfix-style aliases require setting up in the command line, where you create maps of email addresses to users, and is well documented on various postfix-driven web sites.
