How can i create a custom control switch with 3 or more options,

STANDBY
Other than rocker, slide, or toggle switch, are there other switches that we can use, hence, the question of creating a custom switch.
Also, is there a way to create an indicator with two options. Enclosed is a jpeg with an example of what i need

Hello.
Boolean controls can only have 2 possible values, true or false, and there is no way to add more values to them.
If you need more values, then you must use a numeric control (or a string, but I tend to like numerics better, although strings could be just as useful).
There are several types of numeric controls you could use to provide 3 or more options. Attached is a VI which shows a ring, a knob, and a slide each with 3 possible values. In your code, you would then perform different actions depending on the numeric value of your control.

If you want to create a new info object which is a copy of 0REQUID. then
Go to > info object key figure / Chara catalogue> create new key figure / Chara --> enter 0REQUID in front of TEMPLATE and you will get all details of 0REQUID in your new key figure / chara.

How can I create a custom sized video in PP cs6? I have read references to the "desktop" setting but cannot find it. I am trying to find the right settings for a 1080 px x 486 px video (which I need to qualify for hi res on Vimeo). I need to output a 450 x 1000 px video for
my website. Ideally, I'd like the sequence settings as well as the output settings. I am using still shots- no actual video.

What are the exact properties of the still images, particularly the pixel dimensions and pixel aspect ratio (PAR).* The letterboxing (black bars top & bottom) is most likely a result of a mismatch in these settings. If this is the case, then the easiest fix is to make sure not only the dimensions but the PAR match.
Say for instance your source images are 1000x1000 with a PAR of 1.0 (square pixels) and your sequence is set also set to 1000x1000 but with the PAR set to D1/DV NTSC (0.9091), the result would be letterboxing as seen here:
*if you're not sure about the PAR of your source images, right click on one of them in the Project panel and select Properties.

Please run this control query on the portal and then save variant you require. If you want this variant to be available
to all users make sure that the user specific flag is unchecked while saving the variant.

How do you Create a Custom Control

Is it possible to create a custom control under LabWindows ?
I want to creat a control that represents a mobile phone.
It will be a rectangle with about 4 lines of text displayed in it witch needs to be programmatically entered and the back ground colour needs to be able to be change to represent different states also programmatically.

I don't know if it's possible to create custom controls under CVI. I can suggest you some hint to help solve your problem.
As for the second part of your question, you could use a picture ring with different pictures (with different background color) associated with the different states in your program. When program state changes you will only have to SetCtrlVal (panel, control, state) to have the picture ring display the desired colour. I guess this is a simple indicator, so you can put Control mode to indicator and hide inc/dec arrow in order to exclude operator's managing of the control.
As a workaround about the four line of text to be displayed, what about putting on top of the picture ring a simple text box or text message with transparent backgroud col
our and frame colour? At the cost of managing two different controls, the matter should work...

How do you create a custom control which has several buttons?

Can you do this in LabView?
I want to make it so that one button will disable or switch the value/state of another. (Think minesweeper). I can create the logic in a subVI, but only if I have access to the property nodes of each of the buttons.
I want the front panel of the main VI to have the buttons on it, and I don't want the buttons to appear in a separate window.
If I place all of the buttons individually on the front panel of the main VI and pass their references to the subVI, I end up with tons and tons of variables in the main VI block diagram. It works but is very very messy.
I tried to create a custom control with a cluster of buttons in it, but I can't seem to get at the individual property nodes. Is it possible?
(*sighs* I wanna Class!)

Hi Jen
Yes it is possible to get the individual property nodes of controls that are in a cluster.
You have a property Controls[] in the property node of the cluster, so you get an array of control references. You just have to extract the single references to access the controls.
I attached a screen-shot, which shows this possibility.

How can I create a custom button for opening a form?

I have a parent form having child forms. In my main form I want to create custom buttons for opening child forms. I want to use master-detail form but there are more than one child forms, and in master-detail form I can only create one detail form. So I will create a form based on a table and in that form I will call the child forms by custom buttons. Can I do that?

This can be easily done. First open up two instances of your Portal. In one window, you will need to go into your component you wish to link FROM. In the other window you will need to go into your component you wish to link TO. In the component you wish to link TO there will be a moduleid. Note this somewhere. Then, you will see an area that says: "Call Interface: Show". Click on this. (In the window you are linking to.). In this window, you will see a bunch of stuff. At the bottom you will see a URL call. This is the call you need to use. At the top, it explains each piece of the URL call. Just subsitute YOUR appropriate information into the URL call. In the form you wish to link FROM, create a button. Once you create this button, it will appear at the bottom, click on it and you will see an area to insert a Javascript. Click the onClick and insert:

I need to create a formula that validates whether a PC file exists or not to display a message ('File Found' or 'File not found'). I created a custom formula that displays the appropriate message based on a report field composed of the FilePath + FileNameWithExtension that works correctly if the field includes a value or not (Basic Syntax below):
If {ctDocumentImages.ImgPath} <> "" Then Formula = "File Found"Else Formula = "File not found"End If
Now I want to validate that the {ctDocumentImages.ImgPath} value corresponds to an existing file; that is, I need to check that the file specified at {ctDocumentImages.ImgPath} location truly exists to determine that the file is actually 'found'. How can I accomplish this?

Go to database expert, create new connection, select file system data, your starting directory will be
genplex\E\JEMS51_Server\Imaging\Int\2007\..... you can then report on the file names found in that directory / subdirectory, etc... When creating the link you can select all files, or just *.rpt for example
Ok, so you define more than one connection on your report to be able to access the File System Object, right? The problem is that my reports are generic and meant for distribution for customers where no generic base folder will exist. The value of the starting directoy is then unknown, FilePath+Name then can be any value.

I would like to create a customized page for a user to change their password. We are using Portal version 3.0.9 on Windows NT/2000. Currently there is a page in portal where a user can change their password.
I tried linking to that page by copying the shortcut url and adding it as an html portlet. The problem is that we want to direct the users to a
page of our choosing when they click on the "cancel" and "ok" buttons. I read in the forums that there is a selfreg.cmd script.
I also read that there is some code that has been available.
Has anyone implemented a customized user password change page? Do you know of any links that might have steps to follow or
more informatioin?
