How can i deinstall iPhoto '09 and reinstall iPhoto '08

iPhoto '09 is a mess, it doesn't do what iPhoto '08 did for me with albums and info associated with those albums. I bought iPhoto Library Manager and now i've spent three days trying to get '09 to do what '08 did. What is the best way to get '09 out of my life and off my computer and reinstall '08. Advice? I am at wit's end here

yes i actually have nothing in the library right now-it is all on disc as backup-i've wiped clean the library. My issue is importing and maintaining albums with their meta data. I teach art history and have thousands of albums for lectures with much data that i import/alter and then burn to carry to class computer. None of the albums and their data imports/exports into '09. I really don't need anything '09 has to offer and so far i've spent days just trying to do what i can do before. iPhoto library manager is complicated for my purposes and causes more problems than its worth. Can i just trash '09 and install '08 clean? or will it be forever tied to rest of iLife '09. Thanks for you advice!

Yesterday I upgraded to Firefox 4. Sorry, but I do not like it at all, the rearrangement of "bars" at the top of the screen, removing the down arrow that was next to the "back arrow/forward arrow, to allow you to see a small current "history list.' But mostly, the fact that I can not use my Norton Internet Security, which has all my 'user names' and 'pass words'; which cost over a hundred dollars.
I want to change back to the previous edition of Firefox; which I purchased several years ago, and have been upgrading since then.

You can click the Volume icon on the Windows Taskbar near the clock and click the Mixer link at the bottom to open the mixer.<br />

How can I stop iPhoto from reidentifying faces I have already 'crossed', while still being able to identify and sort new faces.

iPhoto has detected faces of people I dont know, in my 'iPhoto faces' whenever I click the cross in the corner of the face (when sorting faces) the face temporarily disappears, but once I have uploaded a fresh batch of photos (and want to identify new faces) it automatically re-identifies the old photos that I don't want to have to sort again. If you are running Lion then all drivers are distributed through Software Update. You do not need to install anything, other than to install the printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan. If you already added the printer while it was connected using USB, you might want to delete it and set it up again wirelessly to avoid confusion. Or, give them two distinct names e.g. "Photosmart D110 (USB)" and "Photosmart D110 (wireless)".
All scanning functions are now performed using Preview, but you can also access the scanner through the same Print & Scan preference pane, or with Image Capture.

Try this (assuming you're using iPhoto 12): make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the three fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
Select options #1, #2 and #6.
Fix #3
Rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:

Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

How can I remove all photos and directories from iPhoto as if it was a brand new install?
I am new to iPhoto and was unaware of how it works, honestly I still am a little confused as to when pics I am using 1/2 the time, some from iPhoto and some from MyPics.
Anyhow, I am looking to remove all photos from iPhoto because during the migration of all my photos from PC to MAC, somehow my timeline became messed up and all my photos that have been logged my dates since 1998 are now all messed up.
Although all my year folders are still in tact, IE 1998-2006, the subfolders and like pics are all intertwined somehow.
And when I search iPhoto for a given year, photos from 2,4, 8 yrs back show up in 2006.
Anyhow, I have selected and deleted all photos and folders within iPhoto, and then import the desired photos from MyPics, only to have the photos double up in the library. ( The old ones that should be deleted and the new imports)
I simply don't get it, they fill the trash and disappear when it's emptied, then reappear when iPhoto re-opens!
Can someone help????
I have completely reworked all my photos so that they are all in the correct folders outside of iPhoto, and now I want to import those and only those pics with that file structure.
IE Structure = YEAR > MONTH > DAY ( or if needed) > DAY/EVENT

Do you want to remove the existing full sized image files also? If so then just drag the iPhoto Library folder from the Pictures folder to the Trash and empty it. But be warned you'll lose all of your image files.
You are dragging the files to the iPhoto Trash bin and then using the iPhoto->Empty Trash menu, right?
In copying your photos to myspace and then back the original capture date may not be retained and then either the created date or modified date will be used by iPhoto. If the files in the current library are the originals from your camera then those have the best chance of retaining the correct Captured Date. You can check that out by dragging the Originals folder from your iPhoto Library folder to the desktop and then trash what remains of the iPhoto Library folder. Then launch iPhoto and it will ask you to create an new library. Then import that Originals folder and it's subfolders by dragging it into iPhoto's open window. You'll keep the same rolls that was. The roll dates may change but you can check the captured date of the files by using the calendar in the Source pane.
You won't be able to keep your folder structure within iPhoto. Each outside folder will result in a roll with the same title as the folder. You'll be able to create folders in the Source pane to put albums inside. You can create a smart album to include all photos in a certain date range, line one month.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

All that's doing is forcing iPhoto to import the image. Dragging it to the iPhoto icon will do the same, or create an automator action and save it as a Contextual menu item.

Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
If you want to back up the Photos only:
Export them using the File -> Export command.
