How can I delete a book from iBook that will not download and keeps telling me I do not have enough memory?

I cannot delete nor download the book I had 3G of space available and the book only needs 648mb! If anyone knows how to get rid of the blasted book please let me know!

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off".

How can i delete some books from ibook? It says: this book can't be opened. The book is corrupt. I can't open and I can't delete it

I was unable to delete a book sample from my iPhone 5s running iOS 7.  This seems to be what worked for me.  I went to the Library and clicked "edit" in upper right side of the screen.  I then tapped one time on the book I wanted to remove and a blue check appeared at the bottom right corner of that book (presumably you could tap several at a time)  Anyway, when the blue check is on the book, you will see in the upper left of the screen the word "Delete" (mine was in red) I clicked that and then a confirming dialog came up from the bottom of the screen with the choices of "delete" or "cancel".  I chose "delete" and the book was gone.  Hope this helps.

Hi! how can I delete a book from the iCloud? I bought the wrong book ... is for adults and I have kids...so

The most comprehensive delete method I know about is to delete the book from iTunes on the computer you sync your iPad with.  You'll be asked if you're sure, and it will be deleted from your iPad and any other i-Device you sync to.
I think that's the best you can do.

I tried to use the attached command through TERMINAL :
    sqlite3 ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/*.db "DELETE from apps WHERE title='Help';" && killall Dock
sqlite3: Error: too many options: "DELETE from apps WHERE title='Help';"
Use -help for a list of options.
But i didn't work as I got the above error message.

I'm in the same boat as you -- except that I manage both a school lab (volunteer job) and macs in the enterprise (pay job).  What I think we need is the Education Volume Purchasing Program
    http://www.apple.com/education/volume-purchase-program/faq.html
Unfortunately this all seems a little rough around the edges -- for example, I have found updates for AppStore apps on the support.apple.com updates download site, but then when I install them via ARD they don't actually update the software.  (The AppStore icons still show as needing the updates, and the version info reports the old version.)  The documentation is also vague about which AppleID to use in which circumstance.  I think they just haven't finished thinking through the implications of the various procedures and policies upon the various kinds of customers.  When we deployed Mountain Lion on the school lab, we made an install usb and went around and installed it on each computer -- and it appears that you are on the honor system as far as paying for all of the licenses that you install.  We did!  But they appear to have no way to enforce it.
So far, I have only deployed 9 Lion macs in my day job, and our "solution" to the AppStore showing updates problem has been to drag the AppStore icon off of the users' docks so they don't see them!

How can I delete a kindle book stored in the iCloud?

Login to Amazon then from "your Account" select "your cloud drive" from drop down list.  This will bring the list of file names such as Kindle books or docs, Videos, Pictures, Documents etc.  Click on the Kindle docs then select the item you no longer need and use the "delete" that is listed on the bottom of the screen.  Done.

  • Can't delete free books from iBooks

    I tried to download a bunch of free books from iTunes. The download just won't work. Finally I decided to just try and delete them from my bookshelf. Nothing I tried worked;
    1) Selected the undownloaded books in question and pressed "delete". Nothing happened. They are in the "Books" folder, not "purchased"
    2) Set "Show Purchased" in the iBooks settings to off.
    3) Deleted the iBooks App from my iPad. Deleted the books in question from my PC. Even went into the folders and deleted them. If I've deleted the content from my ipad, and from my computer AND told iBooks NOT to sync from iCloud AND told iTunes NOT to sync any books at all, then how is it that iBooks is still showing me books I clearly do not want anymore on my device. No matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall iBooks, those holding images for the books in question still keep coming up.
It really doesn't say much about a book app when the simplest thing (deleting unwanted books) needs a visit to the support pages.

Books not actually on the iPad will not show up unless you have Show All Purchases set in teh setting app. Even then they will be indicated with a small cloud icon. These will always be in teh Purchsed collection, but can also show up in other collections if you choose to place them there (moving to another collection doesn't effect the Purchased collection).
To delete a book, tap Edit (upper right corner), tap each book to be deleted, Tap Delete (upper left).
If for some reason this doesn't appear to be working correctly, two things to look into:
Open the Settings app > iTunes&App Stores. Check to see if automatic downloads are tuned on for iBooks. If so, turn it off.
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
Since you have such heartburn over the need to visit this site, you may want to consider having a look at the user guide. It may prevent the need to do so: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf

  • How do I delete a book from ibooks?

Had a book in a collection, I deleted the collection, and the book was greyed out.   Tried to reload the book via sync ( 3-4 times ), but each time the reload process stalled out with the book only about 2/3rds downloaded.    I now have a book on my ipad that is greyed out, so I can't read and I can't delete it either.

    Hi there,
You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.

  • How do I delete a book from iBooks which is already partially downloaded?  It's from the iBooks store (free), but now frozen.  It does not respond to "pause" or "delete" but will not continue to download either.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

    See Subject/Question.

Problem resolved.  Once I downloaded another book, logging into Apple account, it started the new book downloading and the partially downloaded book (frozen), finally completed its download.  Now I can use it or delete it as normal.

  • How can I delete an iTunes rental file that bombs on download?

I had a problem with a previously purchased TV episode where the download kept crashing after so many MB. I was able to find and delete the partial file, search for purchases, and complete the download. My wife was jones'n for a chick flick tonight, NetFlix wasn't here yet, and we decided to try renting something. Elizabeth: The Golden Age hits 510.1 MB and bombs. I've retried countless times, right-click deleted, searched for purchases, etc., and it won't go. It restarts the download at 501.1 every time.
Where is the actual download file for iTunes rentals; I can't find it anywhere? How can I actually delete the dang thing and try to start over? Any other suggestions?

Once downloaded, the file should be located in iTunes Music Folder in a folder titled Movies....but if it hasn't actually finished downloading, don't know if you'll find it there.

  • HT4628 How can I delete a network from my system preferences? My wifi keeps trying to connect to a network that has been disable.

We have disabled an old network in our home and installed a new one. My computer keeps finding the old network, but I have no connection as it is disabled. I have set the new network as my priority, but it doesn't seem to be working. I would like to delete the old network, but can't find how to do it.

Try going to system preferences/network. Unlock the padlock if locked with your admin paswd.
Click on Locations, at the bottom of the drop down menu select Edit locations, this should bring up the list of networks, highlight the one you wish to delete and click the minus button, it should disappear. Click done.
    Hope this helps

  • Can I delete purchase history from ibooks?

How can I delete unwanted purchase history from my iBooks account?

Well, it is possible to delete it permanently.
At first I should notice the problem is that, when you delete a book from ibook in mac the notification which comes up tells that the book would remain in icloud so you have to delete it from icloud.
To do this, open itunes, click on itunes store link on top right, now your your apple id should be show up on top left side, now click on books link next to app store on top, this full page is apple bookstore, on the right bar under "books quick links" you would see "purchased", click on it.
THESE ARE ALL THE BOOKS YOU HAVE BOUGHT. IF YOU SLIDE OVER EACH OF THEM YOU WOULD SEE A "X" SIGN ON TOP LEFT SIDE OF EACH COVER CLICK ON IT, BY DOING SO YOU WOULD DELETE THE BOOK FOREVER FROM ICLOUD IN YOUR APPLE ACCOUNT.
BY NOW IF YOU DELETE THE BOOK FROM YOUR IBOOKS APP IN YOUR MAC, IT WOULDN'T TELL YOU THAT IT WOULD BE STORED IN ICLOUD.
YOU'VE DELETED THE BOOK FROM YOUR MAC AND YOUR ICLOUD APPLE ACCOUNT. AND YOU WOULDN'T SEE IT ANYMORE.
    YOUR DONE.
    HAVE FUN.
