How can i delete my email account from 5230

I want to sell my 5230 as i have found i really dislike touchscreen phones. I have managed to delete everything from it and have restored factory settings but my email is still showing in a bar across the home screen. I have tried for hours to cancel it but just cant figure out how. Any help would be much appriciated.
I clearly also need help using this forum as i just posted this in completely the wrong section then couldnt work out how to move it. Sorry if you have read it twice.

No-one seems to have come up with a "proper" answer here, so after ages of struggling I managed to find the very confusing, long winded way of simply deleting an e-mail account:
Tap Messaging, tap the e-mail account once to select it (don't go into it, select only), tap Options, Settings, Email, Mailboxes, tap on the account you want to delete, Options, Delete.
Surely this could be an Options "option" from the main messaging screen??

You can't delete an account, you can only stop using it. If you're getting that error message you won't be able to create a new account on your device. Your only options are to re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account on a different iOS device or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher), if you have one.

In the Settings there is a Restrictions portion that was toggled on. I entered my passcode and under "Allow Changes" I toggled the Accounts tab to "On". Then went bact to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars tab and was allowed to delete the account.

@Lysin: If you bought it second hand and it has content on it, the first thing I would do is to clean everything up by doing a soft reset and formatting the memory card. This will delete everything that he has installed. It will also delete whatever you've installed after getting the phone.
If there's something you want to keep, make a back up first.
Doing a soft reset and a format of the memory card should make your device as brand new.
If the phone is originally branded and there was installed applications on it from the provider etc, this will also much likely be deleted. But as it is second hand, I guess that won't be a big deal if it is installed any bloatware on it.
