How can I disable synchronization of search input fields between different applications?

This feature, as I'm assuming it is, is really starting to rub me a very wrong way...
Whenever I write anything in the search field of what seems to be any application in OS X, the input I write in the search field is being copied to any other application's search field. E.g., I'm searching in iTerm for text in log outputs, then I go to Sublime Text and write a regexp in the search field. The search field there now already contains what I wrote to iTerm's search field. The regexp I start writing likewise migrates to iTerm's search input whenever I return to it, destroying my search session there. I then go to Safari to search the Perl regexp documentation to help me with the expression I'm currently assembling in Sublime's find input. When I return to Sublime, my regexp is wiped with the input I made in Safari's search input, so that I have to start over completely creating my regular expression.
It's incredibly frustrating, and I'm really hoping that this "feature" can be turned off, but I cannot figure out where, if at all?
Does any one of you know?

In the new version of Firefox, when I start typing something to the address bar, instead of showing suggestions from my history, it shows ~3 "popular search strings", as in Google search bar (for example if i type 'a', it shows aol, aol mail and amazon). Set up an auth object for the field. In userexit field modification check the auth object and set the field to be grayed out if they don't have authority. Users can then not change the value of the field Sample code

Hi all i am having infotype 21 maintained with custom fields for sub-screen 200.
Out of that custom fields(City , District) They restricted city field not to appear for australian employees.
and district is sucesfully appearing .
They have written logic in the sub-screen 200 in PBO.this is reflecting in alll sub-types of 21(alomst 20 subtypes)
module abc_output.
If T001P-MOLGA = 'australia'.
if screen name = 'city'.
screen-input = 'OFF'.
screen-invisible = 'ON'.

Now the requirement is that this logic should be modified such that this city should appear in 7 sub-type instead of district.

How can I share user in the same workspace but different applications

I recently created a new application (new) in the same workspace as my old application (old).
I have about 35 application express users. They are stored in uppercase.
The new appl (old) , login page will only accept the DB user login and Not the application users. When I type it in uppercase, it revert it to lower case.
I have no authentication schemes, uses all defaults. I created a DB user and 35 application users.
It give me " Invalid Login Credentials'.
I am due to upgrade tomorrow, but now have run into this problem!!

Your application must be using a different authentication scheme that the one you intended. Check the current authentication scheme and set it to the Application Express scheme (make it current) or whichever scheme matches that used by the working application.

No matter which bookmark i click on or url i type, firefox connects to yahoo!search, and even from there i cannot connect to the desired webpage. how can i get yahoo!search permanently disabled?

since this morning [1 may] i cannot connect to any bookmarked or other url [except the firefox homepage?!], because the only connection made is to yahoo!search. and even when yahoo!search displays the search result correctly to the site i want to go on, if i click on that i only get returned to yahoo!search again. since i prefer not to use yahoo!search at all, how can i disable yahoo!search permanently?

There are other things that need your attention.
Check that you do not run Firefox in compatibility mode or with a reduced screen resolution.
You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab.
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
You can check if you have the XML files of the default search engines including Google in the browser\searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder.
If not then you need to reinstall Firefox.
Try to delete the search.json file and possible search-metadata.json and search.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder to reset the search engines to the default.

How can I disable awesomebar search/keyword suggestions on FF 3.6?

I am on FF 3.6. I'm trying to find a way to disable the AwesomeBar search/keyword suggestions. I have gone through tools -> options -> privacy -> location bar. I have tried setting the location bar set to show only history, bookmarks, or even none, but it still shows keyword search suggestions. How can I disable this?
I have also tried from about:config, setting maxrichresults to 0. Again, that is not what I'm looking for. I want it to show history and bookmarks, but I do not want keyword search suggestions.

I'm pretty sure the poster doesn't want to disable the keyword search functionality. What they want is for keyword searches to work, but just not be displayed (or at least not displayed as the automatic first option) on the list of location bar suggestions when typing a new URL.

That was how keyword search bookmarks worked in FF3.5, if I recall, and I too would like that behavior back. I haven't found any way to train the awesomebar to not show me keyword search bookmarks.

Sorry, my handful of mp3's had the file name as the id3 tag name.
So, I am seeing the same thing as you.
Oddly, a while back I was trying to help someone out in Mountain Lion that wanted to see the id3 tags in the Finder.
It's all a bit silly. They should have added columns instead or changing it to tag song name.
They are transitioning to having everything reflect the content and not the file system, so this may not be reversible.

i'm a user of Firefox for android. i've found a problem since I update to 16.0.2 and above. every time i tap a link or a input text in the web page, there always shows an annoying orange rectangle outline around the focused link or input area. Moreover, this outline would keep showing while I drag the page and start browsing other parts of the same page. how can I disable the annoying feature?

This is the default feature of the browser to indicate which element are you on, if you are actually on focus with the input or tapping on the right link.
Since this is a default feature of the browser, it now depends on the website's developer to override this feature with custom focus styles. Normally, in a browser, you can override this with user styles/scripts but as far as I know, Firefox Android does not support such features.

How can I disable input on the ALV gridview?

Hi everybody,
I'm developing an application and would like for my users to be able to view the data in the ALV grid. Actually the only thing they may be able to do are delete rows from the ALV.
I set the ALV grid to editmode so you can insert and delete rows. But how can I disable the Insert functionality without losing the delete functionality?
Is is possible to just remove or hide the 'add row' button in the toolbar?

It is possible to EXCLUDE buttons from the ALV GRID tool bar. You didn't mention if you were using OO or not, therefore I will assume you are not.

How can I disable Firefox from automatically opening on system startup on my Mac - unchecking the "open at login" does not work?

We have Firefox 10.o on our Macbook Pro OS X 10.5.8. I prefer using Firefox as my browser but my husband prefers Safari for now because of a long history of bookmarks and saved information he doesn't have time to re-do. He is tired of Firefox automatically opening when we start up the laptop, and even when we uncheck the "open at login" it still opens at login every time. He is about to uninstall it because of this. How can we disable? It does NOT show up in our account on the Mac OS as an application that starts at login, so we can't disable it there.

If you don't want a :hover state to show in the phone css of a fluid grid layout, you would remove it from the global settings and only include it in the tablet and desktop media queries.
Or are you trying to do something else?
