    As I said in my previous post, column headers in Excel are merely row 1 cells. May be I missing something here, so please be more explicit with your question.
    I guess you are using the Excel Report tools, and you want to modify an existing sheet. From my limited experience with the Excel Report tools, it is not possible to open an existing woorkbook (except as template...), so the answer to your question should be "Forget it"...
    The work around is to use the example I pointed for you before, and either to write the whole new colum headers as a string array, starting in A1, or to write a single string to a given cell in row 1.
    Hope this helps

  • How to not display the column header in the table view?

    I do not want to display the column header in the table view, how can I achieve it?

    If you're using JavaFX 8 you can use the following in an external style sheet:
    .table-view .column-header-background {
      -fx-pref-height : 0 ;
    If you're using JavaFX 2.2, the -fx-pref-height attribute is not available in css, so I think you have to resort to a lookup:
    final Region tableHeader = (Region)table.lookup(".column-header-background");
        tableHeader.setPrefHeight(0);
    As always, I feel obliged to point out that I don't really like lookups. Sometimes they seem to be the only way, though.

  • How can I display a ViewObject in 'vertical' table? (11g)

    In our application we have a need to display data that comes from a ViewObject in a 'vertical' table, rather than the standard horizontal layout the <af:table> displays.
    For example, suppose the ViewObject has 3 attributes -- Attr1, Attr2 and Attr3.
    Rather than displaying bound viewObject data in columns that run horizontally such as this:
    (Row1)      Attr1 | Attr2 | Attr3
    (Row2)      Attr1 | Attr2 | Attr3
    (Row3)      Attr1 | Attr2 | Attr3
    ...I we want to display:
    (Row1)
    Attr1
    Attr2
    Attr3
    (Row2)
    Attr1
    Attr2
    Attr3
    (Row3)
    Attr1
    Attr2
    Attr3
    ...Is it possible to achieve this using the af:table tag and monkeying with the css styles or is there another tag suited for this such as the forEach tag?
    Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance

    Well, you can use just one <af:column, and put all the attributes under it... can even try using some grouplayout -vertical..
    <af:table value="#{bindings.Something.collectionModel}"   var="row">
       <af:column>
          <af:panelGroupLayout layout="vertical">
             <af:activeOutputText value="#{row.bindings.column1.inputValue}" id="aot1"/>
             <af:activeOutputText value="#{row.bindings.column2.inputValue}" id="aot2"/>
             <af:activeOutputText value="#{row.bindings.column3.inputValue}" id="aot3"/>
          </af:panelGroupLayout>
       </af:column>
    </af:table>                   Should definitely work

  • How can I use a column header to select columns in a JTable?

    Hello,
    I've been working for ages on this, but I still can't come up with a suitable solution. What I want to be able to do is select a column header from a JTable, which in turn would select the corresponding column in my JTable. I cant seem to do this with a mouse listener, and I can't see how to toggle the buttons of the header either.
    Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
    Mike

    I have both row and columns selected depending on what you do in the JTable. Here's my code:
    where you init your JTable add:
    addressTable = new JTable(addressTableModel, addressTableColumnModel);
    JTableHeader th = addressTable.getTableHeader();
    th.addMouseListener(new tableHeaderMouseAdapter(addressTable));
    addressTable.getSelectionModel().addListSelectionListener(new selectionListener(addressTable));
    addressTable.setColumnSelectionAllowed(true);
    tableHeaderMouseAdapter looks like this (it should look familiar):
    private class tableMouseAdapter extends MouseAdapter
         private JTable tableView;
         public tableMouseAdapter(JTable newTableView)
              tableView = newTableView;
         public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e)
              int selectedRow = tableView.getSelectedRow();
              if ((e.getClickCount() == 1) && (selectedRow != -1))
                   tableView.clearSelection();
                   tableView.setRowSelectionInterval(selectedRow, selectedRow);
                   tableView.setColumnSelectionInterval(0, tableView.getColumnModel().getColumnCount() - 1);
    selectionListener looks like this:
    private class selectionListener implements ListSelectionListener
         private JTable tableView;
         private boolean changingSelection;
         public selectionListener(JTable newTableView)
              tableView = newTableView;
              changingSelection = false;
         public void valueChanged(ListSelectionEvent e)
              if ((!changingSelection) && (tableView.getSelectedColumnCount() < tableView.getColumnCount()) && (tableView.getSelectedRowCount() < tableView.getRowCount()))
                   changingSelection = true;
                   int selectedRow = tableView.getSelectedRow();
                   if (selectedRow >= 0)
                        tableView.clearSelection();
                        tableView.setRowSelectionInterval(selectedRow, selectedRow);
                   tableView.setColumnSelectionInterval(0, tableView.getColumnModel().getColumnCount() - 1);
                   changingSelection = false;
    I'm sure there is a better way to do this, but it's the first thing I could get to work.
    disclamer:
    Use this code at your own risk. I make no claims about this code whatsoever.

  • How can I display multiple column results of a sql query?

    I'm wanting to display the results of a query selecting from multiple columns, but I can't seem to find an item type that will allow this. I've tried LOV, multiselect, display as text and others. Any ideas on how to do this. Here is my basic query:
    Select ul.meaning,
    rqa.submission_date,
    rqa.location_num
    from
    cfa_rqa_doc_submit_dates rqa,
    cfa_user_lookups ul
    where
    rqa.location_num in (Select location_num from cfa_current_locations_mv
    where operator_person_id = :P1_PERSON_ID and substr(location_num,1,1) = '8')
    and
    ul.lookup_type_id='1269'
    and
    to_char(rqa.submission_date, 'month') = to_char(sysdate, 'month')
    and
    rqa.submission_date >= (SYSDATE-365)
    and ul.lookup_ID= rqa.document_type_id
    ;

    Hi,
    Do you just wish to display the result of the query? If so, you can simply parse it out in HTML.
    You can then choose if you want to use tables or css.
    Multiple column layout in tables are based on <tr> and <td>.
    <tr> is a table row, where <td> is a column.
    All tags should be closed.
    Example:
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td>col1</td><td>col2</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td colspan="2">spans over 2 cols</td>
    </tr>
    </table>If you want to do the same in css:
    (Seems this forum removes the styles!):
    float:left; width:50; << first div and 2 div (col 1 and col 2 style)
    float:left;clear:both; width:100%; << clear both, double width (spans over 2)
    <div>
    <div style="float:left; width:50;">col1</div><div style="float:left;width:50%;">col2</div>
    <div style="float:left;clear:both; width=100%;">Spans over 2 cols</div>
    </div>The div might look more complicated, but if you refrain from styling in the tags them selves, you can define different styles in the .css file.
    You need the clear:both to start a new line with the divs that float.
    I usually run a dedicated "new line" div, without content.. (exception beeing the html-entities version of ' ' (& nbsp ; << without the spaces)).
    eg.:
    <div style="cls"> </div>Parsing out the values from the PL SQL you do like so:
    begin
    declare
       cursor c_search is
    Select ul.meaning,
    rqa.submission_date,
    rqa.location_num
    from
    cfa_rqa_doc_submit_dates rqa,
    cfa_user_lookups ul
    where
    rqa.location_num in (Select location_num from cfa_current_locations_mv
    where operator_person_id = :P1_PERSON_ID and substr(location_num,1,1) = '8')
    and
    ul.lookup_type_id='1269'
    and
    to_char(rqa.submission_date, 'month') = to_char(sysdate, 'month')
    and
    rqa.submission_date >= (SYSDATE-365)
    and ul.lookup_ID= rqa.document_type_id
    begin
    htp.p('<div style="width:80%;">');
    for v_search in c_search loop
    htp.p('<div style="float:left;clear:none;">'||v_search.location_num||'</div>');
    htp.p('<div style="float:left;clear:none;">'||v_search.submission_date||'</div>');
    end loop;
    htp.p('</div>');
      end;
    end;Ps. hope I understood you correctly, also this code is untested.. but I hope it can still help.

  • How to display a Column Header for the characteristic Text column

    Hi All
    Our users want me to provide for a column header for the characteristic text.
    Here is what I mean
    I am reporting 0plant in the rows as key and Text. In the column on Plant Key the column header says Plant but there is no column header for the plant text.
    Eq:
    Plant                                                        Amount
    IE00         Initiator Plant                               244
    IE01         Initiator Plant NJ                          890
    Our users in the plant text column want a dummy column header to be displayed. SInce they download the data from the BW report to Excel and use pivot reporting. How can I introduce a column header for the texts.
    Thanks
    Karen

    Hi Karen,
    I am not sure if this is possible, although Users can ask anything :).
    In Planning we used to predefine cell headings via Macros and creating dummy cells in between.  I am not sure if a similar scenario can work here.
    By default this is not possible in Reports.  In BEx workbooks, you could probably try with Macros.
    Another easy option is to bring the data in the Cube as another field or create a nav. attribute in the master for text and use it as a nav. attr. in the Cube and put it in your Query row alongside.

  • How can i  change the column label text in a alv table display

    how can i change the column label text in a alv table display??
    A similar kinda of question was posted previuosly where the requirement was the label text was needed and following below code was given as solution :
    <i>*  declare column, settings, header object
    DATA: lr_column TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_column.
    DATA: lr_column_settings TYPE REF TO if_salv_wd_column_settings.
    DATA: lr_column_header type ref to CL_SALV_WD_COLUMN_HEADER.
    get column by specifying column name.
    lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( 'COLUMN_NAME1' ).
    set Header Text as null
    lr_column_header = lr_column->get_header( ).
    lr_column_header->set_text( ' ' ).</i>
    My specific requirement is i have an input field on the screen and i want reflect that value as the column label for one of the column in the alv table. I have used he above code with slight modification in the MODIFYVIEW method of the view since it is a process after input. The component gets activated without any errors but while run time i get an error stating
    <i>"The following error text was processed in the system CDV : Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible."</i>
    i have checked in debugging and the error occured at the statement :
    <i>lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( 'CURRENT_YEAR' ).</i>Please can you provide me an alternative for my requirement or correct me if i have done it wrong.
    Thanks,
    Suri

    I found it myself how to do it. The error says that it is not able to find the reference object i.e  it is asking us to refer to the table. The following piece of code will solve this problem. Have to implement this in WDDOMODIFYVIEW method of the view. This thing works comrades enjoy...

  • How can I display the data in table in separate column?

    I have a vi reading data one by one in the same column.
    How can I display the data with separate column?
    like this:
    data 1 | read | read
    data 2 | read | read
    data 3 | read | read
    (would you mind if I will ask for an example
    because it is much easier for me to work
    with an example)
    THANK YOU.

    If you're reading your data in as a 1D array, this is as simple as using the Reshape Array to make a 2D array. I've attached an example in LabVIEW 6.1 format. The example rearranges a single column of data fill several columns horizontally, but you can easily modify this code to fill the columns downward instead.

  • How can I display the range for LastFullMonth in the header of a report

    How can I display the month for LastFullMonth in the header of a report run in the past so that a report that ran sept 1 2009 selecting data for LastFullMonth (august 2009)  displays sept 2009 in the header even if there is no data selected by the report?

    Good,
    Sometimes I answer these questions and completly miss it....

  • How can I display all the columns on the screen without scrolling from side to side?

    My clinic software has many columns. How can I display all the columns without having to scroll from left to right all the time?

    If the software you are using doesn't offer the ability to increase or decrease document size, as many do, then the only way is to increase your screen resolution. If that's not possible, maybe you can decrease your font size?  If you can't do any of these, I think you're out of luck!

  • Webdynpro ABAP - ALV how can i display Total of Column

    Hi friends,
    Webdynpro ABAP - ALV how can i display Total of Columns.
    Please tell me any metod is there or any solution.
    Thanks,
    Kumar.

    Hi
    You can take help of following code snippet to create totals for a particular column
    Data: lr_function_settings TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_CONFIG_TABLE.
      DATA: lr_column_settings TYPE REF TO if_salv_wd_column_settings,
            lr_column          TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_column,
            lt_column type salv_wd_t_column_ref,
            ls_column type salv_wd_s_column_ref.
    Data:  lr_field_amnt type REF TO CL_SALV_WD_FIELD.
    * get reference of ALV component
      lr_salv_wd_table = wd_this->wd_cpifc_OVERVIEW_EARNED_ALV( ).
      wd_this->alv_config_table = lr_salv_wd_table->get_model( ).
    *  get function settings
      lr_function_settings ?= wd_this->alv_config_table.
    * display columns in correct order
      lr_column_settings ?= wd_this->alv_config_table.
      lt_column = lr_column_settings->get_columns( ).
      loop at lt_column into ls_column.
    CASE ls_column-id.
    when 'AMOUNT'
    * aggregate field
            CALL METHOD LR_FUNCTION_SETTINGS->IF_SALV_WD_FIELD_SETTINGS~GET_FIELD
              EXPORTING
                FIELDNAME = 'AMOUNT'
              RECEIVING
                VALUE     = lr_field_amnt.
    * create aggregate rule as total
            CALL METHOD LR_FIELD_AMNT->IF_SALV_WD_AGGR~CREATE_AGGR_RULE
              EXPORTING
                AGGREGATION_TYPE = IF_SALV_WD_C_AGGREGATION=>AGGRTYPE_TOTAL
              RECEIVING
                VALUE            = lv_aggr_rule.
    endcase.

  • How can I display the rows into columns.

    How can I display the rows into columns. I mean
    Create table STYLE_M
    (Master varchar2(10), child varchar2(10));
    Insert itno style_m
    ('MASTER1','CHILD1');
    Insert itno style_m
    ('MASTER2','CHILD1');
    Insert itno style_m
    ('MASTER2','CHILD2');
    Insert itno style_m
    ('MASTER3','CHILD1');
    Insert itno style_m
    ('MASTER3','CHILD2');
    Insert itno style_m
    ('MASTER3','CHILD3');
    Note : The Master may have any number of childs.
    I want to display like this..
    Master child1, child2, child3, .......(dynamic)
    MASTER1 CHILD1
    MASTER2 CHILD1 CHILD2
    MASTER3 CHILD1 CHILD2 CHILD3
    Sorry for disturbing you. Please hlp me out if you have any slution.
    Thanks alot.
    Ram Dontineni

    Here's a straight SQL "non-dynamic" approach.
    This would be used if you knew the amount of children.
    SELECT
         master,
         MAX(DECODE(r, 1, child, NULL)) || ' ' || MAX(DECODE(r, 2, child, NULL)) || ' ' || MAX(DECODE(r, 3, child, NULL)) children
    FROM
         SELECT
              master,
              child,
              ROW_NUMBER() OVER(PARTITION BY master ORDER BY child) r
         FROM
              style_m
    GROUP BY
         master
    MASTER     CHILDREN
    MASTER1    CHILD1
    MASTER2    CHILD1 CHILD2
    MASTER3    CHILD1 CHILD2 CHILD3             Since you said that the number of children can vary, I incorporated the same logic into a dynamic query.
    SET AUTOPRINT ON
    VAR x REFCURSOR
    DECLARE
            v_sql           VARCHAR2(1000) := 'SELECT master, ';
            v_group_by      VARCHAR2(200)  := 'FROM (SELECT master, child,  ROW_NUMBER() OVER(PARTITION BY master ORDER BY child) r FROM style_m) GROUP BY master';
            v_count         PLS_INTEGER;
    BEGIN
            SELECT
                    MAX(COUNT(*))
            INTO    v_count
            FROM
                    style_m
            GROUP BY
                    master;
            FOR i IN 1..v_count
            LOOP
                    v_sql := v_sql || 'MAX(DECODE(r, ' || i || ', child, NULL))' || ' || '' '' || ';
            END LOOP;
                    v_sql := RTRIM(v_sql, ' || '' '' ||') ||' children ' || v_group_by;
                    OPEN :x FOR v_sql;
    END;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    MASTER     CHILDREN
    MASTER1    CHILD1
    MASTER2    CHILD1 CHILD2
    MASTER3    CHILD1 CHILD2 CHILD3I'll point your other thread to this one.
