How can I display PDF bookmarks on an iPad

I have a PDF file with nested bookmarks that display correctly on the laptop but not on an iPad. My end users use iPads and need to have access to the information on the bookmarks. Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you for sending us your PDF document.
We opened your PDF document (pocTest.pdf) in Adobe Reader for iOS version 11.2.4.  The nested bookmarks are displayed correctly.
Perhaps you and your end users have different expectations on how nested bookmarks appear in Reader.  The user interface for Bookmarks in Reader for iOS is indeed different from the one in the desktop version of Reader.
Here are the screenshots of nested bookmarks for the other PDF document iPadUserGuide.pdf.
Initially, Reader for iOS displays the top level bookmarks only.
(Click the image above to enlarge.)
Tap the right arrow to go to the next level.
(Click the image above to enlarge.)
Tap the left arrow to go back to the previous level.
Tap each bookmark label (text) to jump to its corresponding page.
Please let us know if you have any other questions about nested bookmarks.

  • How can I display my bookmarks toolbar with text only, but still have the rest of my toolbars (search, navigation, tabs, etc) display icons?

I have a bunch of bookmarks in my bookmarks toolbar. How can I make my bookmarks toolbar display only text but have my other toolbars (navigation, etc.) display only icons? It seems like I have to choose between icon, icon and text, or text for all of the toolbars. I want it to look like it did with my old version of Firefox. All my bookmarks in the toolbar fit, but now they dont because I cant get rid of the icons.

You can do that with the Bookmarks Deiconizer extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/bookmarks-deiconizer

  • I would like to display my bookmarks permanently. Clicking on Firefox, Options and then checking the Bookmarks Toolbar does not do this. How can I display the bookmarks along the left margin like they used to display?

I would like to display my bookmarks. Clicking on Firefox, then Options and then checking off the Bookmarks Toolbar does not do this.
What do I have to do to permanently display my bookmarks?

I asked how I could display my bookmarks permanently.
This answer does not address that issue. Instead, it tells me how I can display my bookmarks temporarily.
While this is nice to know, I wanted to find out how to display my bookmarks permanently - not temporarily.

  • How can I generate PDF bookmarks for change bars?

I want to generate PDF bookmarks for text that is marked by change bars when I save as PDF from structured Framemaker 7.1. That way the proofreader can go directly to the pages that contain change bars and proof only that text.

    Adding to Arnis' reply:
It is also possible to generate PDF bookmarks for change bars through FrameMaker-to-Acrobat TimeSavers + Presentation Assistant, as follows:
Change bar has to use a unique color, with a known RGB value
A PDF layer is created automatically based on the specified RGB value, containing all change bars (layer can be set as initially hidden and/or as a non-printing one)
A generic bookmark can be created automatically for each change bar. Since this is not related to the specific text being indicated, the bookmark text has a user-controlled label, optionally autonumbered (eg "Change Bar #1", "Change Bar #2", etc).
After setting the different parameters above, the process is entirely automatic (results are present as soon as the file is Save as PDF or distilled into a PDF).
If this approach is of interest, I can set up sample FM + PDF files.
A different approach -- based on custom markers inserted, with unique text and note attributes -- resulting in Quick-Access Bookmarks, is discussed/demonstrated at http://www.microtype.com/ImprovePDF06.html .

  • How can i get pdf files from my ipad to my pc?

Please help im so lost, i need to get a pdf file from my ipad to my pc but it doesnt work with workspaces. I really need it for uni.

If you are running the Adobe Reader app on your iPad you can upload your pdf to .crobat.com and then download it to your laptop
On your iPad open your PDF in the Adobe Reader app
Select the save icon in the top toolbar - looks like a doc with a wrench)
    Select 'Save to Acrobat.com'
    Select the 'Get Started' button
Enter you Adobe ID and password
Your file should be saved up to Acrobat.com
    Go to your PC
    Launch your internet browser
    Open https://files.acrobat.com/
Log into Acrobat.com with the same Adobe ID as you used on your iPad
    Your file should be available
Select the file and select the Download icon
You can download the file to your hard drive
    Another option is
    Go to you PC
    Launch Adobe Reader
    Select File > Open
From the Open Dialog select the dropdown arrow beside 'Open from online Account' - select Acrobat.com
You will be prompted to enter your Adobe ID and Password
You should then see your PDF in the listings
    Select to open
Once open you can save to your desktop
    hope this helps

  • How can I display ONLY bookmarks, and not History?

I'm sorry to ask a question with probably such an obvious answer, but I have never been able to figure this out. I want to display all my bookmarks so I can do a search & find the right page. But I always get my entire list of every page I've ever visited. I don't want to delete my history, but I want to only show real bookmarked pages.
Here's what I've been doing: I select "Show ALl Bookmarks." Then I select a folder on the left under the header "BOOKMARKS." It still shows all the pages I've visited today.
    Thanks.

After you enter the search criteria make sure you click on Bookmark Menu in the upper left of the coverflow window.

  • How can I display my bookmarks onscreen at all times as in IE?

IE allow the bookmark list to be displayed at all times on the left side of the screen. I find this very handy as it eliminates the many additional clicks needed in FF to track down a desired bookmark.

You can open the bookmarks in the sidebar via View > Sidebar Bookmarks
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
You can also find a toolbar button in the palette to open the bookmarks sidebar (star without the drop marker) and drag the button on a toolbar.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

  • How can I display all bookmarks on left side of window without opening library?

I usually have a bookmarks view (NOT the toolbar) open in the left side of the Firefox window. It shows all my bookmarks, much as the library view does, but not in a separate window. After Firefox crashed, I restarted a "new session" and the bookmarks were not visible. The help files only talk about the bookmarks toolbar, not what I'm looking for.

You can open the Bookmarks in the sidebar via View > Sidebar > Bookmarks (Ctrl+B)<br />
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
You can find toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks and the history in the sidebar in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.<br />
Firefox 4 has two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.<br />
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu.<br />
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.<br />

  • HT1338 How can I display the bookmark list on the right side, not the left, of the monitor screen?

The display bookmark icon is on the far side of the navigation bar. When activated the list of bookmarks come up on the far left which is not convenient since I am right handed and would like to move the cursor straight down not across the screen.

I imagine the OP means this:
It's not movable. However command-option-B will open it if that's any help, though once opened there's no way of altering the layout of the page, except for moving the divider.

  • How can I display the bookmark list on the right side, not the left, of the monitor screen?

The display bookmark icon is on the far side of the navigation bar. When activated the list of bookmarks come up on the far left which is not convenient since I am right handed and would like to move the cursor straight down not across the screen.

There are two bookmarks icons. One displays a drop-down menu and the other opens the browser sidebar. Which one are you using?
For the drop-down menu, it should open on the side where you have the icon. (Note: this icon generally appears at the right end of the Bookmarks toolbar and in past threads some people have had difficulty moving it to other toolbars.)
For the sidebar, there might be a trick to switch it from left to right, but this also will affect others sidebars that share the same box, such as history.

  • How can I display pdf file details on 64-bit Windows 7 detail view?

I'd like to display some pdf file details in order to classify them by author, title, subject... This option was simply possible for pdf file on windows xp (just by selecting the desired details on detail view when exploring folders) but it seems to be impossible for windows 7 (It's possible for other file like *.jpg, mp3...). Is there a program or a plugin to solve this problem? Thank you very much.

It would appear, very annoyingly, that Acrobat is still lagging in the x64 department! It will, at the moment, only run as an x86 sub.....

  • How can I display a photo in my ipad app quickly?

When swiping through the slide show from a photo album, pictures are displayed instantly despite the size or dimensions of the picture. However, when I display a picture in my app it takes about 1 second per megabyte to load. Why is that?  Is an image saved in two formats?  One with the original size and the other in a low-res viewing size.

So what's the real question here...
If you're asking how Apple makes their apps, you should know that Apple has access to things devs don't.
If you're asking how to speed up loading of xyz, you're going to have to provide code examples, timing test results , targets and goals before anyone can do other than play 30 questions.
If you're studying for your first app for a class, you should plan on having to do your own research.
Get into the iOS Dev Forums where all of this has been discussed in detail via multiple threads. Work your own content accordingly and then if you still have questions, make them comprenhensive, use the right sub-forum and good luck.
