How can I do a batch rename of the version info?

I've looked online and then on this forum for a while now and have not found anything that addresses this question, although, it may have been touched upon already somewhere on here. Basically what I want to do is be able to rename numerous versions at once. See, I shoot a lot of the same types of cars so I want to be able to rename a bunch of them with, for example, Volkswagen so that when I search they will all come up. As it is now the actual file names are already there but they are detailed because most of the pictures were used when I had a pc, but now that I have my Mac and am using Aperture it would make the process easier. Is this possible? I know I would have quite a few pictures with the same name, but that's fine.

Thanks David and Andrew. I had gotten to the metadata batch changing but was unable to find where the version name could be changed. I suppose I could do this upon importing. If I do that then that means I need to keep the camera on and hooked up while I rename the files about to be imported, correct? Also, I had been thinking about using the keywording instead because, really, I would just like to be able to search for a certain model and then have a list of them and also be able to glance at the picture and have it say whatever it is (i.e. version name). If I were to go the keyword route then I would just switch the search criteria to keyword, which I did but then it gave me options to allow or disallow certain keywords already in use.

The only versions you update to are 3.6.28 (which will be dropped from support in a few weeks) or Firefox 11. I'd recommend either 11, or at least start planning for it. Is there a specific reason you don't want to upgrade to 11, I can try to help.

Firefox correctly changes the print background to white, but leaves the colored info as it was on the web page. My monochrome printer uses Grey Scale to interpret the colors, but most colors are interpreted with so dimly that they cannot be seen on the printout.
I am running Firefox 3.6.10 with Ubuntu Firefox Modifications 0.9rc2 and the OS is Ubuntu 10.04. I have disabled the Ubuntu Firefox Modifications Extension, but the results are the same.

Batch rename masters and versions

Like a dummy, I imported a huge photo shoot without using the easy re-naming.
Now, I want to rename every photo. I want to keep the numerical order, as it is critical for organizing the project photos. I want the Masters to be renamed (and I assume then that the versions just stay "version1" etc...). I have all my photos in stacks by master and version (not different masters).
How can I batch rename, keeping the sequential order that is already there.
(I have read the manual. I have searched on this forum. I still am a little unclear and, hence, the question.)

If the images are referenced to an external location (outside Aperture's Library) then you can easily renaming them using Automator.
Copy all the images you are going to rename to a temp location. Just in case something goes wrong.
With Aperture closed open Automator, in the finder select all the images you need to rename and drag them to the right part of automator's screen. Now on the very left part select Finder, on the second column, near the bottom drag the rename finder items action to the right part, just under the window with all your images listed. Click on don't add so it will just rename the files (you made a copy previously). Select replace text and enter the old and new text. That way it will keep the numerical part of your files.
Press play and wait for the action to finish.
Check in the finder that the files have been renamed properly.
Open Aperture and go to the project with those images. If the masters can't be found go to File/Manage Referenced files... and in there you can reconnect to the right location. Usually this step won't be needed unless you move the masters to a new location.

You can have a different receiving email in the Messages app on each device : Settings > Messages > Receive At . I'm not sure that there is a different way to have the message only go to one device.

I've been playing with a Galaxy here at work and here's what I've found so far - please feel free to jump in and suggest alternative methods to configure or access the various icloud components.

Not entirely: the website can't be used from an android browser (not properly - even with Dolphin HD and posing as different browsers it won't load correctly. So Find my iphone is out, so is the address book or looking at your e-mail or calendar just in a browser window
I was able to setup my e-mail using the IMAP settings published here:

Be sure to setup the account manually - and note if you have trouble using SSL try TLS (that worked for me)
Address book is a no go so you'll have to use iTunes to sync all your contacts over to Gmail - if you still have an iPad it means managing contacts in two places though . iWork is an Apple proprietary bit so don't expect much there.
So in my case, if I'm really going to make the switch to a Galaxy from my iPhone it really means I'm going to have to switch to using google as the backend. The timing to swap over to a galaxy/android phone is not the greatest - given that I'd have to give up my Apple addiction (syncing photos and itunes and losing access to my device tracking). Plus I still have an iPad and a mac and like living in the Apple ecosystem. I think I'll wait and see what the new iPhone looks like before I commit

OK, at least 3 is working.
I don't know how you have a Tape Recorder icon on your Home Screen. I cannot add one myself. But, I am running Holo Launcher in replacement of the default LG "Optimus" User Interface. It's much better in my opinion.
Try long pressing the icon and select Edit and maybe you can change some attribute of the icon.
Another thing you could do, is long-press an empty area of your desktop, to add an icon. Select Shortcut, then Select Contact, and scroll through your contact list and choose the contact that you added for *86.
You realize if you have voice mail you haven't heard, there is a tape recorder icon in the notification bar, which you touch and pull down, then press it to dial voicemail.
If that functionality doesn't work, you MIGHT want to consider doing a factory data reset on your device, but that is going to nuke all your personalizations and cause you work to set up again.

Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.

Try Mail>Preferences>Accounts icon>Account Information tab>Click on the Outgoing SMTP server drop down, choose edit Server list, highlight the old one & click Remove.
