I cant find information, how to changes the web site when I open a second tab. Example: when I open Firefox my home page is google and that is perfect but when I open a second tab, why appears yahoo as home page? I want to changes that and I cant find how to do it . Thanks

The normal behavior is to open a blank tab, an add-on will be causing it to display Yahoo. One add-on that does this is the freeze net assistant, if you have that one you can uninstall it and it should revert to opening a blank tab.
There are add-ons that let you specify what should open in a new tab, such as:
* NewTabURL - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/newtaburl
* New Tab Homepage - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-homepage
Another way of opening the home page in a new tab is to middle click on the home button in the navigation toolbar.

I recently downloaded a piece of software to translate languages. I removed the software, but remnants still appear. It changed my homepages (which I was able to change back). But, when I open a new window or tab, the search page associated with this software comes up.

Opening Yahoo in a new tab is caused by a Yahoo related extension, possibly net assistant. To stop it going to Yahoo you can uninstall that extension.

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).

When I downloaded new version of firefox, the feature where when I open a new tab a page loads that contains mini-windows containing my most visited sites. where is this feature now!?

So with the new version of firefox I lost the feature where, whenever I opened a new tab, instead of a blank tab page, a page would appear that contained mini-windows containing pics of all my most often used websites. I could then simply click on one of maybe six windows to go directly to my most used sites. What happened to this? I really, really, really miss this feature. How can I get it back?

The Google Toolbar and other extensions for Firefox include a list of compatible Firefox versions. Currently, the Google Toolbar only goes up to Firefox 4. However, people have tested and it actually works on Firefox 5, so there are two workarounds:
(1) Edit a file to revise the range of compatible versions

I can not type a url in the browser window when I open a new tab. Why not?

I open a new tab click in browser window and see cursor but it does not blink. If I click in google search window it works fine. I can redirect using bookmarks but if I want to just type it in, it acts blocked or locked. Could I have done something to cause this? How can I fix this?

Are you using the same extensions on both computers?
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If you get Facemoods when you open new tabs, this is how to remove:
In Firefox- go to Tools--> Add-ons--> select Facemoods and click on options--> click Advanced- Custom installation--> Uncheck the tab option.
In Explorer- Click on the Facemoods icon on left corner of the toolbar, then click Reset New Tab.

If you want to have a choice of blank or homepage in a new tab, there is a simple way around this.
Open the Customize window and put the Home button on toolbar if not already.
Use the middle-click (scroll wheel on mouse) on Home button to open your homepage in a new tab, whenever you want homepage to load in a new tab.

How can I make folder view the default view when I open Organizer?

I just bought Adobe Elements Photshop and Premier 11. I spent 2 to 3 hours getting my picture video library into Adobe's organizer. I had some problems with duplicate picture (that I wanted to be there - so I had to rename them) and a couple pictures with corrupted metadata. After I got all that sorted out I am a bit miffed about the folder view on Adob'es organizer.
I love that you can switch to folder view - since this is how I have been organizing my pictures for a long time. I would like to continue organizing this way for now until I get a grasp on the other ways I can organize them in elements. However, every time I close and re-open organizer it switches back to the default view instead of folder view. PLEASE tell me that there is a way to set folder view to the default view! HELP!

How can I stop Firefox from restoring minimized windows when I open a new Firefox instance?

Say I have 10 Firefox windows minimized. When I start a new instance of Firefox, all the minimized windows are restored! Then I must manually minimize them all over again. How can I stop this behavior?

Try to delete or rename/move the prefs.js file and other possible prefs-##.js with a number and user.js files in the Firefox Profile Folder.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

Make sure that Firefox isn't running when you delete files in the profile folder.

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Firefox, or probably some add-on, has changed what I see when I open a new tab; When I open one, there is a google search that is unwanted there!

That's pretty much it. The 'new tab page' now also shows a search in Google, even though I never wanted it too! It is unsightly and doesn't help me a bit. If you can help, I would be grateful. How can i paste text from a web site to an open office document as rtf?

i'm running firefox under windows 7. i'm unable to copy text from web pages to the clipboard as rtf formatted data. tried pasting into ms wordpad and open office 3.3 writer. ie allows pasting as rtf text, but i'd prefer using firefox. why is rtf not an available format?

Its like pop ups and ads are always open in like the backround and when i open a new tab i see like dozens of them. how do i fix this?

it well looks like the pop ups are frozen into firefox or something. i uninstalled firefox 3 times to fix this and its still there. i dont even know how to properly describe it.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

In the prior Firefox version when I opened a new tab there would be thumbnails on the blank page below tabs of web sites that I frequented- now the screen is just blank- is there a way to see the thumbnails below again?

In the prior version of Firefox before I was encouraged to download the newest version... when I would open a new tab: on the blank page below would appear thumbnail versions of web sites I had frequented which was awesome to return to sites without even going to bookmarks.
