How can I downgrade from 10.9.3 tot 10.9.2, because problems with AVID software
I outline here my problem:
Recently I bought an IMAC 27 inch with OSX 10.9.1 on it.
Video editing i do with AVID MEDIA COMPOSER 6.5.4.
Then I did the upgrade to OSX 10.9.2, for sofar was everything ok.
Later I did the upgrade to OSX 10.9.3 and then the problems started.
A portion of AVID no longer worked properly.
So the problem was clearly the upgrade.
Now my question is how can I go back to OSX 10.9.2
Thanks

You may be able to check your earlier download of 10.9.2 in the app store
history to see if you can download another of the same version from there.
And when you use Time Machine, note that an external hard drive can be
rather full of contents, from more than one system/computer backup, so
it would have to be rather large; best to have one each for each Mac. Also
note that this kind of backup will start overwriting oldest content first, so it
may also eventually erase and re-use all content. Better to have alternative
thinking and use a second or third externally enclosed hard disk drive, see
about ones that provide their own power supply so as to not rely on Port
power from the computer; these externals can be larger size 3.5" HDD in
side their case, a&run at faster RPMs than smaller 2.5" port-powered ones.
An external HDD with Thunderbolt/FireWire/USB3.0+ can be used with a
fully bootable system clone.
Just a few ideas.
Good luck!

How can I downgrade from 11.0 and re-install 10.7
How can I downgrade from 11.0 and re-install 10.7
First, reconsider your decision. 11.x isn't quite as user-friendly as 10.x, but it has pretty much the same functions are before (albeit in different places). Give it a few more days, and you might grow to like it. Future releases will only get better.

How can i Downgrade from iOS 6 beta Firmware to iOS 5.1.1 iPhone 4 A4 . After I've upgraded my machine batteries run out very quickly, so I want to Downgrade, I don't have shsh blobs
There is no reason to be running beta software, I doubt it will even still run as iOS 6 has been officially released. Or were you simply trying to be funny?
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved. -
How can I downgrade from iTunes 10.5 to 10.4
How can I downgrade from iTunes 10.5 to 10.4?
Thanks for your support, but I changed the TimeZone (both PC and Iphone 3GS on Istanbul GMT+2) and the problem is still there. I updated also Itunes 10.5.1, same problem. I can't syncronize or update the IOS on the phone. I'm afraid I'll have to try the complete reset to factory of the Iphone (I'm afraid sync data on the iphone has been corrupted and Itunes can't sync).
Any advice on how to save all my data, since backup function does not work because it needs the sync feature?
thanks

I am using Iphone 5 ,How can i downgrade from IOS 7.0 to IOS 6 ?
I am using Iphone 5 ,How can i downgrade from iOS 7.0 to iOS 6 ?
Go to the Apple store and buy a new phone, the iPhone 5 (not the 5S) and you will probably get a phone with the IOS 6 interface.
But be aware that many apps will no longer be offering updates for the older IOS. You either have to move forward and stay in the past.
IOS 7 is just a change in the look, the functionality is still there. OSes have to move on, change. Otherwise the vendor gets accused of staying in the past. I find no problem in the update except for the changes in the Calendar. I spent $5.00 and got another calendar that does more and works better. I also got a better Notes program for a few bucks. For less than the cost of a dinner meal I was able to improve my phone experience. Rather than complain, I adapted. Problem solved. -
How can I see from my contact who use iphone (ios 5) for contact with imessage?
How can I see from my contact who use iphone (ios 5) for contact with imessage?
Well, let take the personal service point of view : let say, I had two calendars on my iCloud account : one for work, one for my leisure activities.
On my MacBook Pro that I use at home as well as at my office, I would want the two calendars to show and since I am alone in my office, I would want the alerts for both my work and my leisure activities to show (and make a sound at the same time).
But on my iPad that I only use at home, I would only want my leisure activities alerts to show (and make a sound) and on my iPhone that I only use for work, I would only want my work alerts to show (and make a sound).
That is a personal service that simply does not work.
Why would Apple give us the opportunity to hide some calendars on certain devices but not allow us, on these same devices, to switch off the alerts linked to these calendars that we have chosen to hide ? Why having alerts of calendars that do not even show on these devices ?
And I am an Apple fan since 1984, since the very first Mac. I still do believe Macs and Apple devices and/or software (iOS, OS X and others...) are much better and much more efficient than " Microsoft, Windows, Google and other Android devices and software.
But that does not mean everything's perfect (and I find that quite normal).
Nevertheless, in this case, letting alerts make a sound on a device where a specific calendar is not shown, that does not make any sense : when uncheking those calendars, the alerts linked to those calendars should be automatically switch off (but alerts should be able to work on the calendars that are shown.) -
How Can I Downgrade From 2.0?
Well, the Phone 2.0 upgrade to my 1st gen iPhone has killed my WiFi and it's pretty glitchy with email and a few other things.
How can I downgrade back to the previous version? Was it 1.4?
I can't seem to find the right file and I would want to make sure it is the actual Apple file and not some sort of altered version.
Thanks for the help, I'm leaving town for the weekend and don't want to be stranded with this 2.0.From what I've found it involves basically hacking the phone to some how trick iTunes into using 1.1.4, also requires an older version of itunes. I've heard the best chance is to tell apple your unhappy with 2.0 and they will give you another phone that still has 1.1.4 on it. Thats just what I've found on the internet, not official.

How can i downgrade from itunes 10.5.3 to 10.5.1
Since upgrading from iTunes 10.5.2 to v.10.5.3 I have had problems with a stuttering or halting of sound, as if I were streaming music with a slow internet connection. How can I downgrade to the previous version?
Very difficult. I don't know about the version change you did but often versions may irreversibly upgrade the library file. You would have to start from scratch unless you happen to have saved a previous copy of the file.
Another problem is getting hold of an older version. Unless you saved a copy of 10.5.2 you will likely find it no longer exists on Apple's web site.
Did you clone your hard drive and do a complete backup before installing new software as is advisable? -
How can i downgrade from os x 10.9 to 10.7 without time machine
can i downgrade from os x 10.9 dirrectly to 10.7?
You should start a new topic thread, so as to get more exposure
to your question; this is suggested due to the status of where you
posted your item (now answered) will see fewer people with any
answer; mostly those seeking answers like their own question.
If your MacBook Pro shipped with a system later than the
DVD version OS X 10.6 you have, the disc would not work.
However, if the DVD you have is the Original OS X version
the MacBook Pro came with, you could use it in much the
same way as it worked before installing Mavericks 10.9.x
By 'reverting' to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 you will essentially lose all
of the content on the hard disk drive. I am not certain if you could
even import anything from a 'time machine' device that had been
created under the newer Mavericks 10.9 system. Since you have
to boot the computer with the install DVD for 10.6, and erase the
hard disk drive, reformat it to GUID and HFS+ (whatever default
for Snow Leopard) and that would remove the Recovery partition
on the computer's hard disk drive, and any other partitions.
Insert the Snow Leopard DVD into the optical drive, and restart
while holding the C key down, until the Installer disc is running
the computer; this would be rather slow, as it reads from the DVD
in order to build the Installer desktop, and access files to attempt
an installation. It may also be testing the hard disk drive, etc.
Once the computer is booted from the SL 10.6 install DVD, you
can look into the Utilities menu (in top of screen, like in Finder
desktop) to choose Disk Utility from the drop-down menu, and
once you launch Disk Utility, note there are sections within it
to choose from. You can choose Secure Erase (single pass) if
you want to have the utility overwrite zeros on the entire HDD.
This a bit longer then a basic erase & install. It wipes everything.
If not, choose to erase all Partitions and be sure it does this.
Afterward you would need to be sure it reformats the hard drive
with a correct partition map & file type. GUID & HFS+ journaled.
The tools are in the Disk Utilty that you run prior to the Installer
itself, as there are options in the menu just like Finder desktop.
Once the hard drive is erased, partition mapped, & reformatted,
it should be easy to put an all-new system 10.6 on the hard drive.
(That is, if the OS X DVD you have is a retail version, and if your
computer shipped with a system older than the one on that DVD.)
Should you choose to, an idea some suggest prior to upgrade
and also prior to downgrade, is to make a full clone of the system
that is running the computer on an externally enclosed hard disk
drive (see carbon copy cloner, or superduper, clone utilities) so
as to have a complete running system that can boot the Mac...
If you had one of these prior to upgrading to Mavericks, it would
be able to run your computer without re-installing. You could just
use the clone utility, again, to clone it back to the wiped Mac HD.
Or run Snow Leopard from the external, at a slightly slower rate
given the USB 2.0/3.0 to an external is slower than bus speed.
Not sure if this helps. However you may benefit from more
exposure to your question in a new topic thread, and that
could be in Snow Leopard, Mavericks, or this ASC section.
There are advantages to posting in an OS X named topic
since people with all kinds of supported Mac would see it.
Hopefully you can revert, and also have some kind of a way
to make a backup of any works you may need a copy of.
The applications in Snow Leopard, older than Mavericks,
may not like to handle files made with newer software.
Though there is a cost to set up the ability to make and use
full bootable system clones, the external drive, time, learning
and testing the idea to see if you can master it before erasure,
the results are worth the effort; since you then have a backup.
A full backup, and it is a manual effort to make this kind, unlike
the 'time machine' bits and pieces, this can bring back the Mac;
if used with a time machine backup, too, could be opportune.
Good luck & happy computing! -
How can I print from my ipad? Printer is wireless and comes up with no airprinter found
How can I print from my ipad using a wireless printer? Printer is listed but comes up no airprinter found
iOS devices can only print directly to AirPrint printers. All AirPrint printers are wireless but not all wireless printers are capable of using AirPrint.
To print directly from an iPad / iPhone you will need an AirPrint compatible printer or another device to act as a print server. That can be a Mac computer running Printopia ($19.95 with free trial) or handyPrint (donation - supported). The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. Equivalent PC options may exist but you're on your own finding them.
You can also buy this standalone print server:
http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
These options enable you to use any printer available to your network, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades.
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device. -
How can I downgrade from Lion to Snow Leopard?
Hello.
Yesterday, I upgraded my Mac to Mac OS X (10.7 Lion) from 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. However, I wish to downgrade.
Obviously, I would like to not lose any data at all. However, I have never downgraded before.
I still have the Snow Leopard installation disk that came with my Mac.
How should I do this? I was thinking it would be easiest to simply head on over to an Apple Store...
I did some research (aka Googling), and I read up on the subject quite a bit.
If I simply put in the disk, will I be able to downgrade from Lion to Snow Leopard as easily as the upgrade was?
Also, I have heard about holding down the "C" button to do this... how exactly?
I have never backed up my Mac, nor used Time Machine.
Also, is it possible to install Snow Leopard on a separate disk, and set it up so that I can switch between them on command?
Will all of my preferences be saved, or does this wipe everything, not just the system and libraries folders?
I realize that I have a lot of questions, and therefore I appreciate everyone's help in advance. Thanks again.
Sincerely, ZachBackup your files.
Booting From An OS X Installer Disc
1. Insert Snow Leopard Installer Disc into the optical drive.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
5. Wait for installer to finish loading.
Erase Drive
1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Upon completion quit DU and return to installer. Install Snow Leopard. Restore your files after the installation has completed. -
How can you downgrade from ios 7.1.2 to 6.1.3
hello everyone can you please help me i need to downgrade from ios 7.1.2 to ios6.1.3 because my ipad dosent work realy well with it can you plese help me
Downgrading isn't possible. iTunes won't install iOS versions older than the latest compatible release, and if one's somehow installed anyway, Apple's servers won't activate the device afterwards.

How can I downgrade from 10.5.1 to 10.5?
Well after an frustrating call at Apple support, they told me that the 10.5.1 Version is the Subject of my problems (My iMac doesn´t recognize my MiniDV Cam). There a driver missing, that was there in 10.5!!
So I want to try out and downgrade from 10.5.1 to 10.5. Is it possible? How?I find it hard to believe the camera that is recognized by 10.5.0 is not by 10.5.1. I suspect what has happened is either the driver got corrupted or the PRAM or Firewire bus needs resetting. The latter two are described below:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=88338
Downgrading or analyzing corrupt files is only possible if you backup your data first*:

First backup, and then tell me when you are ready for the latter.

How can i downgrade from iTunes 10.5 Beta 2 to iTunes 10.5 Beta 1?
i have a iPhone on iOS 5.0 Beta 1 and iTunes on 10.5 beta 2 but i cant sync and when i install itunes 10.5 beta 1 it's not possible to start itunes
what can i do?The info below corrects the mistake of upgrading to iTunes 10.5 Beta 2 before installing iOS 5.0 Beta 2 on your iDevice.
To downgrade from iTunes 10.5 Beta 2 to iTunes 10.5 Beta 1 you need to trash the iTunes Application before running the Beta 1 installer. Otherwise the icon will just bounce once and the app won't run.
Then once you are back on Beta 1 should should restore your iDevice to iOS 5 beta 2 (you can only use restore, upgrade doesn't work and throws error 3002) you then need to install iTunes beta 2 and then restore from your backup. -
