How can i downgrade to iOS5?

iOS 6 disapointed me and i wish to downgrade to iOS 5. I never thought to say this about apple software, but im really sad with this iOS.

All we can say in this Apple forum is that downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPhone

  • How can we downgrade to iOS5?

I upgraded my iphone 4 to iOS6 and it's slowed my phone completely.  I'm told we cannot downgrade?  I seriously regret pushing that button.

Apple and Google have always had a strained relationship since the release of Android.
Yes, at the moment the maps App is poor, but then I'll bet my life on that when Google Maps was released it wasn't much better.
There is an official YouTube app on the App Store and you can still use Google Maps via Safari, going to maps.google.com
This question keeps getting asked, over and over again. It appears that some just want to ***** and moan about it here instead of searching the community and seeing other suggestions to the problem.
You're right, this is a technical help user-lead forum. Other than suggestion the other options to the maps and YouTube issue there's nothing else that can be suggested, the iOS is working as it should. Apple removed the apps in favour of putting their own on.
And as for "I'm sure Apple guys read this" this is no way to say that they are, or that they haven't tried to help you with the issue. They'll be on here, however, as users and not Apple employees. I'm sure that they'd get a very big telling off, and possibly risk their job, if they identified themselves as Apple employees.
If you want to moan that iOS 6 has ruined your iPhone experience and you are contemplating moving to crappy Android then go to their feedback page so that they get the message.
As for the adds, these aren't added by Apple, these are added by the app developers. They probably get a nice sum of money from the advertisers and therefore can either offer their apps for free or at a reduced price. There are plenty of Android apps that are flooded with adverts!

  • How can I downgrade to a previous version?

How can I downgrade to a previous version. I upgraded to 2.3 and now my site is totally hosed because the fonts on the master page are changing size arbitrarily without me touching them. I've had to eliminate my site map on the bottom of my master page because I've spent over 20 hours trying to correct the issue and can't seem to get anywhere. Even completely recreating the page doesn't correct the problem.
I was going to simply change a few photos from an older backup copy of the html files, but when I opened them with the 2.3 version, it changed all of the font sized on those files too.
I need my site working properly, so, how can I downgrade to the previous version and get my site working again until the bug is fixed?
    Help please!

  • Everytime I try to update to iOS5 on my iPhone 4 I get an error containing 0xE while it is trying to backup data from the iPhone.  I have done everything suggested in Apple support.  How can I upgrade to iOS5 without losing all the data on my phone?

Everytime I try to update to iOS5 on my iPhone 4 I get an error containing 0xE while it is backing up data from the iPhone before installing the new operating system.  I have done everything suggested in Apple support with no success.  I still get the error everytime (about 5 minutes into backing up iPhone data).  How can I upgrade to iOS5 without losing all the data on my iPhone (the error message says that if I continue I will lose all data on the phone)?  If I have already synced the phone before upgrading the OS, would I be able to restore my data after installing the new OS by syncing after the OS upgrade is complete?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

  • How can I Downgrade to Snow Leopard and keeping all 3rd party apps?

New to MacBookPro and really happy. With Lion...not so much. I want to downgrade to SL, however, apparently I must reformat the hard drive. Here´s the real question: If I have a backup of my entire HD with the user, docs and all the apps I have installed (on Lion), once I downgrade to Snow Leopard, can I just move all my apps from the back up disk I have made of my Lion-Running hard drive? In other words, How can I downgrade without having to reinstall every single third party app I have?

First, how new is this Mac?  A Mac as a rule cannot boot to an older operating system version than that with which it was originally supplied.  In other words, if this is a new MBP that came with Lion then you probably cannot get it to boot to SL.
Some applications (and I take it you do mean full "applications" rather than "apps" which are mobile device programs -- it helps to be clear o terminology) can just be dragged from place to place.  Others, notably Adobe and Office, install things all over the place and unless you are good at finding hidden files with obscure names in 10 different places you will just have to re-install them.

  • How can I downgrade back to Firefox 3.6 because 4.0 won't run on my version of OSX?

I downloaded Firefox 4.0 & installed it on my MacBook running OSX.4.11 but when I tried to run it I got an error saying it was not compatible with my version of OSX.
So if I can't open Firefox I lose all my bookmarks....
How can I downgrade to the version I was running before I upgraded & replaced all the files with version 4? I think this was 3.6 as I do upgrade regularly.
    Thanks!

You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
When you re-install Firefox 3.6 it will use your existing bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

The vast majority of people do NOT have this problem, or any other problem with iOS 7.1.
Remember, the majority of people that come to this site do so because they are experiencing a problem.  However, only a very, very small percentage of Apple users come to this forum, because they do not have any problems.
Using this forum as a guideline for how prevelant a problem is affecting the overall Apple community is like going to a hospital, seeing that most of the people there are sick, and concluding that most of the city's population is also sick.
Additonally, the OP reported that updating to iOS 7.1 resolved the issue, so you advice is misplaced.
A LOT of iPhone 4 users DO have problem with personal hotspot after upgrade to 7.1, I am one of them. 265 people reported that same problem there and more then 20.000 people read that thread. Please go and reed here:

20,000 people haven't read that thread.  That's how many views the thread has had.  Each time someone refreshs that thread, it counts as a view.  Don't believe me?  Go back to the thread, refresh the page, and watch the page count increase.
Also, 265 replies doesn't equal 265 people.  Each reply is counted, whether it's a new person replying or someone posting another reply.

I updated IOS 6 in my device, it is performing worse. Consuming too much battery in a very short time. How can I "downgrade IOS version?

Downgrading isn't supported and wouldn't help.  You need to fix your phone.
    1. Delete and reinstall all email accounts.
2, Restore the phone in iTunes, first  using a backup and if needed as a new phone.

How can I downgrade to 7.1.2 from IOS 8 (iPad air and iPhone 5S)?
Can you restore from backup?  That would be best to keep all your stuff.  You can find usually several versions under restore option in iTunes.  I really hope you have one of those iOS7 versions backed up to iTunes.
If you really want to start over, and I mean no contacts, photos, music, apps, anything but factory settings that aren't in the cloud or in one of the restore options. You can search ios 7.1.2 firmware and download it and install by shift click restore and choose the file you downloaded.  But that is a really desperate act.  But this also requires iTunes and if you've been using iTunes you probably have a backup.

  • How can I down load ios5 from my ipad2

How can I down load ios5 from my ipad2

Only once you've got iOS 5+ on the iPad can updates then be done wirelessly directly on the iPad, until then you need to update via your computer.
To update to iOS 5.0.1 you need iTunes 10.5 on your computer. When you've got iTunes 10.5 installed then connect your iPad to it and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. You should also backup the device (right-click the iPad 'device' and select 'back up'), and copy off any important documents, files, notes etc (e.g. by email, the file sharing section at the bottom of the Apps tab, wifi, whatever the apps that you use support) - the update process should backup and restore your content but it's best to be safe.
If iTunes doesn't then prompt you to update to iOS 5 on your iPad, then with the iPad connected to and selected on the left-hand side of it, then on the Summary tab on the right-hand side click the Check For Updates button.
