How can I download 10.5

Question

I had 10.5 on my macbook.  I was maxed out on hard drive space so I installed a new drive and then installed 10.4 from the discs that came with the macbook.  I honestly can't remember how I ended up with 10.5 previously because I can't find any install discs, but some of my applications don't work now because I only have 10.4.11 but I need the most current version of 10.5.  How can I download it again?

Snow Leopard  (10.6) is available now. It is Lion  (10.7) that won't be available until July.  You'll need Snow Leopard in order to install Lion according to what the Developer Conference keynote suggests.  There is a chance that might change, but presently I don't see any other way to ensure that would happen, unless you post feedback that Apple's website is ambiguous about it here:

You just admitted that someone (whom you call the store) upgraded you to 10.5 without giving you a disc.  That 10.5 was not yours to use without the disc.  The disc is part of the license agreement.  I would go back to the store if you still have the case number, and ask why couldn't you buy the disc from them then.  They did you a disservice by not giving you the disc, which can be used to custom install things, and examine any software issues with your system.  I'm not about to explain how to make an extra copy of a drive, whose operating system is questionable as to its licensing for your use.  They really in my humble opinion should have just helped you reinstall your 10.4 system if anything when you went to the store.
