Is there a problem with the installer media you bought? If you bought Aperture 3 as a boxed retail version, you can download the Trial version again here:
Aperture 3.1 Trial
After you install it, run immediately software update from the -menu. You can unlock the Trial version with the serial number that came with your boxed CD version.
The licence that came with your boxed version entitles you to install it on two macs - one Desktop mac and one portable.

thanksThe easiest way is to install Mountain Lion, and then you can download iMovie 11. If your Mac is supported by Mountain Lion, performance should be fine.
The other way would be to try to find a retail boxed copy of iLife 11 from eBay or Amazon. You can then install iMovie 11 up to version 9.04. But that is it, you cannot get 9.07 without at least installing Lion. -

Had the same problem. Also worked fine on my MacBook, but not on my new iMac. Here's what I did to fix it:
Archive and Reinstall Mac OS (takes about 40 minutes). This reverted my system back to 10.6.2. Just pop in your Mac OS disc that came with your computer. Mine had 10.6.2 on it, and "Archive and Install" is the default option. When it's done, run software update and update everything. Now it all works fine.
Somewhere along the way, some file got corrupted somehow. But doing an "archive and install" of your OS undoes whatever file damage was incurred, and allows everything to update normally via Software Update as it should. -

About the dac 1, but may apply to the dac 2 as well in some ways...
Here are more details:
1) The current version of iTunes (7.5) for OSX is very broken. Some older versions work properly, but 7.5 introduces truncation and DSP artifacts that can measure as high as –80dBFS. These levels are easily audible. There is no system configuration that will permit transparent playback from 44.1kHz sources with iTunes 7.5. Curiously, the only format that works properly in 7.5 is 24-bit/96kHz. This iTunes problem has nothing to do with USB communications, as the results are the same when using the built-in optical port on our PowerBooks. As a workaround, we suggest using the free VLC for Mac player. VLC works perfectly with all formats (provided OSX is set to match the sample rate of the files being played). We highly recommend the VLC player for OSX users, and strongly advise against using iTunes. We will attempt to identify which versions of iTunes work and which ones don't. But beware, iTunes updates itself without user intervention. One of our test computers "upgraded" itself to the dysfunctional iTunes 7.5.
2) OSX still does not have the ability to follow sample-rate changes. We consider this a nuisance for most users and a show-stopper for users who want to play a mixed list of 44.1kHz and 96kHz material. An OSX sample-rate mismatch will invoke the very-poor-quality sample-rate conversion that is built into OSX. The iTunes 7.5 bug seems to be locking on this sample-rate conversion at all sample rates other than 96kHz. Until this is fixed, OSX is not the operating system of choice for audio playback.

I had played with the OAMessageChoiceBean component yesterday, but I was able to tell from your instructions that "Picklist Display Attribute" and "Picklist Value Attribute" really are not for binding to the database EO. That was the key piece of information that had me confused.
In addition to adding the messageChoice component to the page, I needed to write some code to synchronize the picklist value with the corresponding code value, which I placed in am OAFormValueBean (hidden form field) which I could then bind to my application's database EO in the controller, running in the processFormRequest procedure:

Not for Yosemite, sorry.
That would require Aperture 3.6, and that has only ever been sold from the AppStore. For earlier MacOS X versions, up to MacOS X 10.8. you could use the boxed retail versions of Aperture 3, available from Amazon or eBay. The could be updated from Apple's Support page up to Aperture 3.4.3.
But for Aperture 3.6 are no installers available outside the AppStore, and Apple stopped selling it after the release of Photos for mac. -

From the App Store, my open option is to OPEN the app. I want to download the full Aperture software, burn it to disc so I have it for later use if needed.. This isn't going to be easy. I have the exact same issue. I want to keep my thousands of photos in Aperture libraries and be able to access them in the future if need be.
This highlights the problem of trusting a company with your data.
Long Term Transition from Aperture
Even without aperture your photos are still there in the aperture library, just got to it in finder and show package contents, there are lots of folders with one call masters, then its all folders of year / month / date with all your master in there.
Luckily I decided to use referenced flies for all my photos on an external drive, just as safe but a little easier to find for me.
