Trying to save room on my ipad by downloading SD movies instead of the HD movie I purchased. Thanks for your help

You can download the SD version of purchased movies on a computer, and sync them to your iPad.
Use these steps to download SD movies from the iTunes Store:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. You can download the latest version for free here.
Open iTunes on your computer.
From the Store menu, choose Store > Sign In, and then enter your Apple ID and password.
Navigate to your Purchased page. Find it by clicking Movies or TV Shows from the top navigation bar in the iTunes Store, and then click Purchased from "QUICK LINKS" in the iTunes Store.
Choose the appropriate video type: Movies or TV Shows.
In the lower-right corner of the screen, deselect the box next to "Download HD When Available."
Search for the desired video and click the download button.
This should download the standard definition version to your computer so you can sync to your device.

If films are available in your country's iTunes store then you can buy and download them via the iTunes store app on your iPad, and they will download into the Videos app (or you can buy them via iTunes on your computer and then sync them to your iPad). As long as the films have been fully downloaded then you should be able to watch them in the Videos app whilst the iPad is offline.

After that you can add the movie to your iTunes library and sync it to your device.

If you can get your rental to download by going to Store > Check for Available Downloads, then report the issue to the iTunes Store.

I bought couple of movies about a year ago for my iPod touch 3G but it got broken so I´ve got me a new one, the problem now it´s that I can´t download the movies, iTunes is asking me to pay for them again! The rest of my apps and music it´s already there, just my videos. Can someone help me, please?

After choosing download video and specifying path and name for the file, it only downloads a file less than 200 kb. What should I do? We cannot help you to obtain illegal copies of feature films. Unless there is a legal download store selling such movies in your country, such as the iTunes Store or Amazon, you will need to purchase DVDs and watch them on your computer.

When you start up Handbrake, you will need to identify the source that you are copying. I assume you have an Optical drive by which you can read the DVD. Then it is a matter of clicking on the various options for the copying process, especially insuring you know where the copied file will be. It wil be in an MP4 format, which can then be viewed by Quickplay or QuickTime.. It can be also be imported into iMovie, using the import function under the File menu.

I always do my Rentals with the itunes program on the computer.
Make rental from itunes store. It will show in movies under library, DO NOT click to play it. Plug in the device to the computer. Click the name of the device on left. Click on movies. There is an option to copy to the device. Sync. obviously you still need space on ipad to put rental but you can have it take computers hard drive space until you need it.
