How can I download previous iTunes purchases from older apple id after my Mac is associated with my current one?
I have 4 MacBooks running MtnLion, iPad3, iPhones 2,3gs,4,and 4s,Time Capsule, and Apple TV....
I have 2 Apple IDs [email protected], and [email protected]
Almost all of my media is associated with gmail Apple ID. I want to retrieve my previous purchases, but don't need this Apple id aside from that.
All of my computers and devices are associated with [email protected] id (I've set automatic downloads on all devices for [email protected])
Now itunes will not let me download purchases I made on [email protected] for 60 days.....
I actually wiped my 15" Mac pro, installed MtnLion and set it up with the me@gmail Apple ID (both icloud and itunes) just to get my previous itunes purchases. I downloaded about half, and then got sidetracked. Now when I go into itunes on it and try to download the rest, it says this computer is associated wth another apple id and can't download for 60 days!!!
I tried deauthorizing, but to no end.
Multiple people can indeed use multiple Apple IDs on the same computer in multiple user accounts as long as they do not use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-download any past purchases. However, if you'll read the KB article I posted a link to you'll see that for the purposes of those services a computer can only be associated with one Apple ID every 90 days. If the OP associates their friend's computer with their Apple ID and downloads purchases from the purchase history the owner of the computer will be locked out from using iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-downloading any past purchases.
It's not that the friend will be unable to use iTunes at all, but what the OP wants to do will associate their friend's computer to thier Apple ID for 90 days which may cause the friend some inconvinence.

I'm getting a message that the friend's computer I'm using can't use a different apple ID for 90 days - I'll be long gone by then and back with my own computer!!!

The procedure you describe is putting content from two different IDs into a single library, which can readily be done.
However, each item of purchased content will still be tied to the ID from which it was originally purchased, and they will be treated separately for purposes of Cloud, Match, Purchase History, etc. -

How can I download previous music purchases in iTunes
There seems to have been a glitch in one track of an album purchased from the Store. On advice at an Apple retail store I deleted the tracks from the album (with the intent of re-downloading the album hoping for a clear download) and yet when I check available downloads I am told that all purchases have been downloaded. Any clues?

I purchased music from itunes on one of my pc's. I can't seem to get the pc to recognize my iphone when I connect it. When I connect my phone to my laptop, it recognizes the phone but I don't know how to upload the new purchases.

I recently purchased my first Apple computer, but have been a longtime iPod user, and as of this past February an iPhone user. So upon getting my new Macbook Pro, I of course began to sync what songs I had purchased from iTunes on my old Windows computers, and iPod and iPhone, that were supposed to be stored in the Cloud. Well, as I've been importing all the physical CD's i own, I began to notice that some of my iTunes purchases hadnt downloaded from the Cloud. So now I've gone through my iPod to see what songs are missing and which aren't. I know now that I am missing two full albums, as well as what I think is another 25+ single songs I've downloaded, and unfortuantely I cannot figure out how to retrieve them for the life of me. I'm very frustrated that all my purchases didnt show up from the Cloud in the first place! Any help?

Just got an iPhone 5, and learned that the 100 or more CDs that I had uploaded to iTunes on my older Mac cannot be downloaded to my new phone using iCloud/iMatch. I match is not compatible with the older operating systems. I spoke to a Apple genius, and he said that there is software out there that will do the job. Is anyone familiar with any of these? Frustrated, and need help.
I regret to say that you need a new computer. That G5, as good as it still is, simply cannot run the required software to be used with the latest iPhones and other software.

Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes if you have the sidebar displayed, or with the button at the top right.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

I have checked for automatic downloads and it has not downloaded any of my apps...Please Help!If you are logged in with the same account then they should appear in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes (or you should be able to copy them over from the iPad to your Mac's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases) - you can then take a backup copy of them in case you need to restore your iPad in the future (you can't use iPad apps on a Mac)

I downloaded them previously and then "hid" them in my music folder. Now even when I go onto iStores it says I have purchased them but i cant see where to download them.. getting relaly really frustrated... I have uninstalled iTunes, I have tried everything. Does anyone know how to do this?

They chapters are mp3 files. Changing the genre to "audiobook" or "audiobooks" does help.
I am sure this question will come up a lot, since the book in question is "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," purchased from Pottermore.com.The one thing I would add to the instructions above is that the "Media Kind" menu is on the "Option" pane in the "Get Info" Window. This procedure has allowed me not only to make imported audiobooks show up as audiobooks, but imported podcasts show up as podcasts.
