I have an older Mac but a new iPhone 5. I cannot get the two systems to match so I can download and backup my iPhone to my Mac. I recently visited a Mac store and they advised me to buy the snow leopard (10.6.3) so I could get the new itunes 11 version. Now I cannot find where to download the 11 version of iTunes. Where are older versions of iTunes available for downloading?

Apple menu > Software update will get you the newest Apple software (including iTunes and OS) available for your current operating system (which should be 10.6.8, not 10.6.3).

Do you have Restrictions enabled at Settings > General > Restrictions?
If so, is iTunes turned on as a Restriction?
If yes, this will remove the app from being available to use but doesn't delete the app.

My online college course-room has a "Computer System Check"application that tells you when you are using the best version for working with the classes as their application development is written. They say that they have troubles with Firefox 3.6. (I have seen a couple of minor issues, but nothing too far off the mark.)

it is an InDesign extension published by Winsoft, the French company who
originally developed the Middle Eastern version of InDesign before Adobe
took it over.

First, are you positive it is really not there? Have you looked in your iTunes folder in your Music folder, and in the media folders there? Do you see your media files?
If your media are gone it is a lot easier to restore from a proper computer backup. Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

Delete the broken links in iTunes then look at your purchased list to redownload.
If this happened because you were deleting files from the iTunes folder in Finder, don't. You have to let iTunes do all the deleting and moving or you will end up with broken links.
