How can I download videos from the web using Firefox?

I have used Cometbird as my internet browser for almost a year, but a few friends told me that Firefox is better, so I downloaded Firefox to give it a try. Unfortunately, I am experiencing a problem -> I can find no option that allows me to download videos from websites, using Firefox. With Cometbird, when I'm on a website page that offers videos, all I have to do is right click and Cometbird automatically finds any available media and allows me to download it. With Firefox, when I right click, the only viable option is to, "save the page", which doesn't allow playback of the video after saving it. Confused, I went to a Firefox page that explained to me about "add-ons", and, after looking through some of the add-ons available, I downloaded one labeled, "download helper" and followed the tutorial exactly, yet still, I was not able to download any videos. This forces me to ask two questions -> #1) Why would Firefox make available an add-on labeled, "download helper" that doesn't download anything? ....... #2) Why would Firefox not include the option to download videos from websites? ------- The internet was invented for the sole purpose of sharing information; The only way to retrieve this information is to download it; The most popular form of information downloaded is videos; Yet, with Firefox, the ability to perform the most widely used method, of the most popular form of entertainment, is not included with its internet browser. This would be comparable to a grocery store not selling bread, milk or eggs. Please explain.......

Some videos will allow downloading.
I use Safari, and when I right-mouse click on some videos, there will be an option to download.

  • How do I download videos from the internet using Adobe Flashplayer?

Dear Adobe Customer Support,  I want to download a video from the internet but I don't know how to do so. Please help me.

Adobe Flash player enables you to view Videos but not download them to the local drive. You need to use other non-adobe softwares for that.
If you are facing issues watching the videos due to flash player not installed then you have to tell me the OS and browser you are using.
You can also refer to the following KB's :

How do I download videos from the internet to my MAC?

You can use SnapZ Pro X, which will screen record with sound any animation on the monitor into a QuickTime file, but it's expensive.
If you look for Add-ons for Firefox, there are some that download Flash and YouTube videos to a file on your machine.

You Mac likely will come across sites and content that won't play in Quicktime, on your Mac or in your web browser unless you install additonal codecs
    You can get them here

There is a FlashBack trojan making the rounds which tries to con people into installing it by looking like it's the real thing.

    How to install
When you click a link, a download of the installer file occurs to your Downloads Folder usually located next to your Trash Can or in your Users Folder.
Open the folder and double click (or File: Open) the download and icon can appear on your desktop which you open and inside is a installer package which you double click on to launch the installer.
OS X will check the download to make sure you intended to start it and that it's not malware it knows about.
Follow the installer instructions to install the software onto your computer and quit when finished.
Some require the browsers to be closed first, others require the machine to be restarted to enable the software.
Once the install is completed, remove any and all downloads from your Download folder, it's safer to keep this folder empty so you can keep track of what appears in there.
Drive by downloads of malware can occur and reside in the Downloads folder, mixing in with files residing there and await your click to install.

How can I download videos from youtube with may MacBook Pro? I cannot download with real player. So how can I do it?

There are two apps that I know of - and I would also swear that they come from the same developer, although they've different names. Both have free trials and both cost $40 (but both do 'other' video conversion as well).
One is WonderShare - I bought this one and it works very well for downloading YouTube videos as well as converting just about any file format you can think of.
The other is iSkysoft Video Converter (just noticed that it's now $36).
I tried them both and finally decided on WonderShare. Give them both a trial run and decide if you like either one enough to buy it. I don't know of any 'free' software that will allow you to download and convert YouTube videos, but perhaps someone else will come along and know of something...
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • My iphoto library has become unreadable. I am wondering if I shoudl delete iphoto and reinstall? Can I download iphoto from the web? I bought my computer in February of this year. Do I have to buy a new copy of iphoto?

My iphoto library has become unreadable. I am wondering if I shoudl delete iphoto and reinstall? Can I download iphoto from the web? I bought my computer in February of this year. Do I have to buy a new copy?

It's probably the library that's the prolem and not the application. Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can create and open a new library then your existing library is damaged.
If that's the case, Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • How can I download videos from my IPhone to PS?

How can I download videos from my IPhone to my PS Starter edition?

I am afraid to say that, but you cannot download it as PS Starter edition was a very old product.

  • Can you capture video from the internet, using premiere pro cc?

trying to capture video from the internet, using premiere pro cc, is that possible?
also - it keeps saying "video capture offline" - any solutions for that?

I am going to go out on a limb and say that while it may be against the YouTube terms of service to download or scrape a video off of their service, there are times that I really don't care since it is for my personal use. Providing myself or my wife with entertainment that she can watch or listen to on her smartphone while on an airplane, or in a car traveling down the road, just doesn't bother my moral compass. Doesn't make it twitch in the least.
Perhaps I am wrong. Perhaps I shouldn't do it. Tough. I do, and will continue to do so until the Google police come knocking on my door.
This is pretty much the same argument that they tried to kill the VCR with. The simple act of time shifting was something that was considered wrong, and illegal, until people came to their senses.
As for the editing capability, you might be surprised at the ways it is possible to download video that works just fine for what I use it for. Premiere Pro has no problems allowing me to edit out the parts I don't like, or just aren't funny, and the quality really doesn't suffer much at all.
Now, with the exception of something I did for my two year old Great Niece, I have never used any video that I have downloaded for anything except a tutorial, or in her case, a Sesame Street song I used when I shot video of me reading her the Sesame Street book that I purchased.
Would it be wrong to post downloaded video, intact or edited, for public consumption? Sure it would. No question about it.
But please do not assume that everyone downloading video from the Internet is doing so for nefarious purposes, and I promise not to assume everyone is a perfect angel and is following all the rules.

  • How can I download video from Canon HF20?

Please help me. I just need to download video from my new Canon HF20 to my computer. I hear you can use imovie 08 but how?

I have a Canon HF11, but I imagine the problem is similar. I'm working with iMovie '08 on a Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 with 3 GB of RAM. I normally import from an old Sony TVR530 (flawlessly).
This is apparently the deal with iMovie '08 and Mpeg-2 Camcorders... Apple stinks at working with them (at least for my setup).
The files are .MOD, which is just Mpeg-2; no problem. You connect the camera and it auto-recognizes the FS11 (in my case), but doesn't begin import. You select a manual "movie import" and it says there are no files to import (there were 187 files in the folder). Very frustrating.
BUT! It will recognize the movies EVENTUALLY. Yes, it's true. Just connect the camera and wait a good 10 - 15 minutes and it will finally come up with the import clip window. Not that you're in a hurry or anything. THEN, to rub salt in that wound, it takes minutes to import seconds of video. I have a 14 second clip that took 3 minutes to import. FOURTEEN SECONDS! All these little basketball game clips are going to take an HOUR to import (according to the application).
My first pass resulted in an import of about 21 clips before iMovie crashed. I'm trying again now and HOPING the imported video will not show degradation when it's all done. I'll let you know.
(I'm still mad that my wife's PowerBook 1.5 GHz cannot play a simple YouTube video without looking like a 10 fps flipbook animation. GET IT TOGETHER APPLE! You're supposed to be the multimedia guys!)

  • How can I download videos from my iPad 2?

How can I download my videos from my iPad 2 without buying the HyperDrive USB 16GB iFlashDrive from Wirelessphonegallery.com? I have Apple's camera connection kit but it only imports to the iPad 2.

I had hope that Apple had decided to make the camera connection kit a two-way device. I will be taking videos with my iPad 2 and did not want to take a chance of having my MacBook Pro stolen. So, I will be taking an old Sony notebook with Windows XP Media Center Edition. using the Windows XP Scanner and Camera Wizard have proved extremely useful. Since the iPad 2 and the iPod Touch are wireless, it would have been nice to have a way of transfering videos from my iPad 2 to a wireless external HD without being connected to the internet. In the future, I hope Apple will consider enabling uploading and downloaded with the iPad 2 with simplicity. I have a 10 megapixle photo camera and a Panasonic video camera with which I can change out SD cards. I never imagined that I would need more memory for my devices and this is probably a one-time need. I have an iPod Touch, and Ipad 2, a MacBook Pro, and a new iMac with 21" screen. I have been encouraging people to change from Windows products to Apple products. Apple knows there are things that many customers are searching for and will look out for their customers. I greatly appreciated the help which you have rendered. Once again, thank you very much.
