I have MAC Book Pro 2.8 GhZ intel core i7 with 16 GB Ram OS X 10.9.3 . Working on my Final Cut Pro X 10.1.1 but I can't seem to make a Duplicate on external HD to be shared on my iMac late 2013 model...
It only copies it on the same HD.... I would like to work my project on both MAC if I could.. I have WD Passport 2 TB on USB 3

Create a new library located on the external drive. Move (copy) the event to the library.

Versions of Final Cut Pro aren't backwards compatible. So a project created with FCP 7 cannot be opened with FCP 6...and this even goes into the dot-updates as well. A project created with FCP 5.1.4 cannot be opened by FCP 5.1.1.
Nope, for this you need to use XML. Export your sequence as an XML sequence and import that in the other version of FCP. XML v3 if for FCP 5.1 4 and FCP 6. XML v2 is for FCP 5.0, and XML v1 is for FCP 4.5. So if you need to go from FCP 6 to FCP 5.0.4, you'd use XML v2. For FCP 7 projects that you want to open in FCP 6, XML v4.
To export an entire project, select ALL the bins in the Browser and then choose FILE>EXPORT>XML.

Do you still have legacy FCP? If you not you need to find someone who will open the project in FCP6.0.6 or later. Export an XML file of the project. Use 7toX to convert it to an XML format that works with FCPX. Import the converted XML file to FCP.

Go to the Project Library View and select your project.
Then FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT and give the duplicate a name like "your name - part 1".
Then duplicate it again and give the duplicate a name like "your name - part 2"
Now you can open "part 1" as a project and delete everything that is in part 2.
Open "part 2" as a project and delete everything that is in part 1.

I'm not sure this is the best way, but you could create a new iMovie Library, move your project to that Library, then close the library. Then move the Library to your USB drive. Then, on the other Mac, in iMovie open the Library.

How can I share a project specific calendar I created on Entourage 2008 without showing my personal calendar? I created a project specific calendar using Entourage 2008 for Mac. I want to add someone that uses Outlook from a PC. We are in the same exchange network. I have added this person in under the sharing tab, but don't see a way to invite her to view it, and it does not appear on her Outlook list of shared calendars. I was able to invite her to view my main calendar, but not the project specific one. Any suggestions?

How can you open a project file backup if the main project won't load?

This has only started happening in the last couple of weeks. I'm on Logic 10.0.7, OSX 10.8.5. On one particular project, it will be loading seemingly normally, then it just disappears with no crash log, nothing.
Presumably there is some sort of corruption in the project file.
In the old pre package days, you would just go to the project file backups folder and pick a previous one. Bingo, you have only lost a little bit of work.
Now when I show package contents, the project file backups folder has project data files that won't open logic, and are invisible until you have logic open. Which I can't do.
Rue the day I selected the package option rather than folder.
Any suggestions?
Or to put the question another way, how can I convert the project data in the project file backups folder to a file that Logic can recognise and open?

Having his install the trial is the way to go. Working between AI versions is a pain and as you are finding out almost impossible with 5 versions between the collaborators.

Under file->new->Projects you'll find two options that are relevant to you:
One is called project from WAR file - this will allow you to point to a project that has been packaged as a WAR and will create a JDeveloper project for it.
The other option is called "Project from existing source" this will allow you to point to your existing code directory and will create the JDeveloper project for this.
After you created the project, you might want to do a bit of tweaking under the project properties->content and sub categories for Web content, resources etc...
And you might also need to add any missing JAR files you are depending on to the libraries node of your project properties.

How can I duplicate a control in a subVI using the reference?

Here's what I want to do. I have a tree control in my main application. I add and delete items dynamically based on user input. If I pass my tree reference to a subVI, I can add, subtract and reorder the items in the tree and the changes are shown on the main tree. How can I duplicate the tree in the subVI? Would I simply pass the tree control in (which I'd rather not do) or is there some other way to accomplish this?

Here's my attempt. This VI uses a control reference of the old tree and generates a data structure that can be used by the "Edit Tree Items.Add Multiple Items to End" method to add contents to the new tree that should be identical to the contents of the original tree. Note that this VI only works with LabVIEW 8.0 and later, since the afore-mentioned method is not available in previous versions.
I hope this helps...also note that I saw some re-draw issues with LabVIEW 8.0, i.e. after the VI ran, I didn't see the tree displayed properly until I minimized/restored the window, or dragged another window over it. I did not see the redraw issues in LabVIEW 8.2.

I am not really sure, if I understand you right. But try this:
Don’t place a picture, but draw a box and use the "Fill" command to put a picture into it.
(Don’t click onto the color swatch, but onto the blue link "Fill".)
In this case responsivness should work.

I have a sony handicam and I imported the clips to iMovie and they lost quality and converted the audio to stereo. I want to import the project to final cut X and import the AVCHD in 1080p and surround sound and export the movie in bluray. Can I relink the clips without editing everything again?

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

I have a master project with several merged projects. This works splendid with online documentation, but when I am asked to provide a printed version, it seems I have to create separate documents for each merged project.
Is there any setting or fix that enables print also of merged projects and topics when I create printed documentation?

Hm - there is a contract with the customer, saying that he wants documentation both as word and pdf, and as we now aim at only writing online documentation, these tasks create extra work, as we are delivering updates each month
But yes - two beasts, where only chm is actually needed we think.
