How can i Dynamically Change Report Logo's
Hi,
I got a report. this report will be used by business users in 50 Countries.
I got 50 logos in repository. if indian users run the report then report should pull only indian Logo
like wise if user from any of the 50 country run the report only his country logo should be appeared.
I put all 50 country logos on report headder and wrote suppress formulae like
if (UCase(Command.Country_Name) = 'INDIA") then False else True
It worked but the report size dramatically increased from 125kb to 2MB
Is there any other way. Please Help

-Create a parameter for Country.
- Insert the logo as OLE object.
- Right click on the OLE object -> Picture tab.
- Clcik on X-2 for Graphic loaction and it would open the formula editor.
-Write a formula similar to below based on your requirement -
if {?parameter} = "India" then "path of the image for India"
else if {?parameter} = "USA" then "path of the image for USA";
You can specify all the paths here so that based on the selection of country at runtime it displays image associated with that country.

How can I dynamically change the Application Date Format?
Hi everyone...
In my application (v 3.2) I let the user set the application date format dynamically through a "preference" value they can change on the go.
I then take the format they pick and assign their value (ie: DD-MON-YYYY) and pad 'HH:MI' to it and use this as the PICK_DATE_FORMAT_MASK which works great for most date pickers.
The problem I have is that some date picker I use in the application don't require the HH:MI, they simply need the DD-MON-YYYY part. Could I use the NLS_DATE_FORMAT for this? Would I then be able to use date pickers with the "use application date format"? It doesn't seem to work for me.
In other words, I basically need 2 date formats for my application date pickers; 1 for simply the dates and 1 for dates including time. And these 2 formats are chosen by the user by setting an application preference dynamically at run time.
Not sure if I make sense here....any idea?

Thanks for the documents. Its really helpful to me.
I am able to change the look and feel of my reports. But I am unable to change the corporate logo.
The steps that I followed.
1.Goto discoverer Plus configruation.
2.Goto Logo change the option button from None to File and Choosed the .jpg file from C:\Logos.
3.Restarted the application server.
4.Open the BI plus reports in IE. But still I am seeing the same Oracle Logo only.
5.But whatever the look and feel like plastic/system/oracle I changed I am able to see the changes.
6.The logo change is not as simple as I thought??. I need to create Jar on this logo and I need to put the jar file in java /j2ee directory???.

I understand that it applied first logo to all other sub sites.
Please make sure that you change the logos in the subsites.
If we change the logo in the root site, the logos in the subsites will be changed at the same time.
However, we can change the logo in the subsites separately.
We can go to a subsite, click the Site Sitting-> Look and Feel-> Title, description, and logo->Insert Logo->select a picture, then it will has a different logo than the root site.
Then go to the other subsite, click the Site Sitting-> Look and Feel-> Title, description, and logo->Insert Logo-> select another picture, then it will has a different logo that the first subsite.

I've added a hyperlink column to my table, it is used to display the current record details in a new page.
I have defined in my SessionBean a getRowkey/setRowkey methods.
When the user click on a "View" hiperlink the following code is executed:

How can I run the report for different input values at the same time?
Reports version: Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1
Oracle version: Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0
I want to run the same report for different input parameter values and spool each o/p to different file and ftp to a server. For this, as a first step, I am spooling different input values in to a file, reading those values through a loop and calling the report for that input values. Each report run/execution is taking 15 minutes. Total report execution is taking approximately 4 hours (assuming 16 different input values) to complete. So I have to wait 4 hours to see ALL outputs.
I would like to run the report parallel for ALL the input values and I should be able to see the ALL outputs with in 15 or 16 minutes.
In my shell script, I added & symbol at the end of the report call to start/run the job in the background. Due to this the control passed to the next step after the report call. At this place I have an ftp command to send the output file to a different server and it is giving error some thing like o/p file is not available/created yet". This is due to the fact that report writer is NOT yet completely started/initiated or it is NOT completed the spooling.
How can I run the report at the same time for all the input values and save the time?

Kishore.Increase the number of server engines running right now it seems there is only one engine running ,increase it to 4 or 6
and then atleast 4 or 6 reports will run simultaneously.
For FTPing the output add to your sript to check whether it is locked and if not then only try to ftp .
Also for more better functionality read the document (chapter 15 ) for 10g reports for its new fuinctionality.
