How can I emulate Mac OS Leopard on my Mac OS Snow Leopard (in order to run goLive plus extensions again?)

Hi there!
Having accepted the job of ”operating” our school website got me in a fix when Adobe decided to keep Dreamweaver and kill goLive: I am not really good at creating websites so that only with a lot of help did I manage to create the one we have online now, and since I see no way of instantly acquiring any Dreamweaver expertise and creating a new website, I need to find a way to emulate Mac OS Leopard (non-server!) on my new iMac 2011 i7 / Snow Leopard (on which goLive and its extensions (MenuMachine) don't run). So far I've tried Parallels 7 and VMWare Fusion 4, both only accept the Mac OS Leopard Server software. Is there any other way or programme that may do the trick? Or, if there isn't, does anyone out there know whether buying (and installing) the server software would do the trick ? I've seen eBay offers at about 200€, but such an investment would only make sense if there is a guarantee that it would let me install goLive plus extensions and that I am able to handle the software (never had a server and never had any aspirations in that field). Can somebody help, please?
Thanks.

At this point, the best (and cheapest) solution is to upgrade your website. Even if you get an old machine or have a working emulator, things will change (as you have already witnessed), making it more and more difficult to use the old software.
Trying to stick to the outdated system is too costly and short-sighted in my opinion. ...unless your website has something so wildly celebrated by the users that it cannot be changed AND cannot be run by anything other than GoLive.
BUT ANYWAY... yes, OS X can be emulated, but it is technically illegal. You would have to buy and maintain an older piece of hardware and hope it never breaks, or break the law.

  • How can I get Mac mail to open winmail.dat attachments on lion 10.7.3

How can I get Mac mail to open letter attachments winmail.dat??   (Lion 10.7.3) Any help appreciated...

    Sorry peterskine,
it's true in part. There's more then one article on the subject "Recipients receive a winmail.dat attachment":
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/outlook-help/recipients-receive-a-winmail-dat- attachment-HA010153018.aspx?CTT=1
The odd thing is that my colleague and me use the same release mountain lion and we received the same email from someone on Outlook2007. He received the mail with the attachment, whilst I saw a "Winmail.dat". It already happened to me on snow-leopard, some month ago. Up til today I don't know what the difference between our machines is.
But it is interesting: the same OS, the same mail-clients (Apple Mail) and still different results.
Note: on my machine it used to work properly. It just suddenly happened that I started to receive winmail.dat files in stead of proper attachments.
When I have more time on hand, I cant try to find out why this happens.

Sorry, but that opportunity has long passed. Your options now are:
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps - App compatibility and feature support for OS X & iOS.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.

Mac OS no longer available after trying to remove Windows on Bootcamp. How can I restore Mac OS without the Mac HDD in options?
So what I did was, I had bought my iMac from a shop and asked them to do bootcamp for me. However, they installed 32 bit instead of 64. My fault, I did not make my self clear about it. So after it has been delivered to my house, I realized that I wanted the 64 bit. I tried to remove windows on bootcamp but honestly, I have not experienced this before. So I failed. I believe, I did something wrong.
So I opened the iMac and it keeps asking me to go to windows. Windows OS also corrupted.
I tried the Option Key but the only option is Windows 7 only. So using a different keyboard, I press option and it only shows Windows HDD and the Mac HDD has gone.
What am I going to do? How can I restore Mac OS without the HDD anymore?

Editting PDF documents that were created by a MAC doesn't work because of font incompatability.  How can we get MAC fonts and load in our Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

If it's a Mac font and you're on Windows, you can't. If you are also on a Mac, you'll need to purchase the fonts (fonts are generally non-transferable, like software. One of the reasons pdf exists), install them and try your edits.
But it's best to edit the original document and create a new pdf when finished.

Hi - I have the exact same model as your MacBook and had a few questions as mine is acting up. I upgraded the ram to 8gb (2x 4GB ram) and ever since then my computer has not been running as smoothly and the start up time is horrendous. Have you encountered this problem? And if so how did you fix? What would you advise me do?
I was thinking of reverting back to the original factory 4GB then rebooting the entire computer. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

How can i connect mac book pro to appel tv3

To do what?  It's not clear from the question.
If you want to play iTunes library content on the unit you need to enable Home Sharing on both, have them on the same network and then look for your iTunes library under the Computer icon - iTunes must be running of course.
Communications can be blocked by firewalls or security software sometimes.
To factory restore a black AppleTv2 or 3 you connect it to the computer running itunes with a USB to microUSB lead alone and start itunes.

Nobody here represents Apple or any store.  To find out whether you can buy something, you need to contact a store directly yourself.  Since you didn't say where you live, it's hard to even suggest a store.  Of course you can buy what you want from stores that sell to Arabic speaking countries, like

If you are in the US, you can try asking an Apple retail store if they can make a special order for one for you.

    Hi, Simon.
You can instruct iTunes and iPhoto to save their respective libraries to a different disk, e.g. your second hard drive. You can also move existing libraries for these apps to a drive other than your startup disk.
See the links concerning moving these libraries cited in the "More ways to save space if you have a spare partition or second hard drive" section of my "Freeing Space on your Mac OS X startup disk" FAQ.
    Good luck!

  • How can i fix mac address?

    I have a question.
some of application see mac address for authorization.
but azure pc seems to change its mac address when rebooting.
how can i fix mac address if rebooting ?

    Hi Munyamunya;
    A very good question indeed.
As of now MAC address cannot be kept persistent permanently there are several scenarios where a mac address can change, A. Service Healing B. Manual Stoppage of VM from  the Portal.C. Upgrades/ Downgrades of Cores etc..
As specific as it gets if you would like the MAC to be persistent only for reboots, you could create a Regional Vnet and this would keep the MAC intact only on reboots, however service healing and Stopped Deallocated VM are bound to let the VM loose their
    mac address.
A permanent solution would definitely be beneficial to all, you could pass on  your valuable feedback through this
    link.
    Hopes this helps.
    Warm Regards
