How can I enable iTunes Sync to move deleted to the Trash in Outlook instead of directly deleting from my PST file?

I use several Apple Devices: iPhone 3GS (yes, archaic), iPhone 4S, iPad, and iPad 2 for personal, and work.
I use iTunes with MS Outlook 2010 to store all my information (e-mail, contacts, calendar, notes, etc).
When any information changes, it is updated throughout my devices. There has been a time or two when I have accidently deleted information. I want to make sure that I can undelete the information at those times.
When I 'Allow' iTunes to delete the information, it does not move to Trash in Outlook and instead it removes it completely from Outlook. This removes any possibility to restore the infomation at a future date if the need arises.
This is a very important function which I miss, granular notification of every change that will take place and the ability to stop each change; when I used Blackberry Desktop with my Torch.
Does anyone have any idea how to resolve the issu? My work around, currently, is to copy the existing PST file to a different locaion. Then, if I need to restore, I would just open the PST file and copy the item(s) back into the working PST file. This is really quite cumbesome.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you Control click on the iPhoto Library, you'll see a list of folders - one named "Masters". Inside of this folder are all of your original, high-res photos. You can copy them to other folders if you like.
You can't delete iPhoto pics without deleting the ones in the iPhoto Library.
You can copy all of your Masters pics out of the Library, ensuring that you won't forget any.
I don't know of anyway to determine if there are duplicate photos - most (if not all) have a unique name assigned.
Good luck,
Clinton

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • How can you stop iTunes splitting up a cd in the music library

How can you stop iTunes splitting up a cd in the music library

Try highlighting the tracks in iTunes, right-clicking and Getting Info, then marking them as Part of a compilation.
If that doesn't take care of it, read Apple's document (where the pic came from) -> Why aren't songs with the same album art grouped together?

  • HT1766 How can I retreive a video that was deleted from my iphone??

How can I retreive a video that was deleted from my iphone??

If it was a video taken on your iPad, and if you have it backed up from the last time you did an iTunes (or iCloud) backup, then yes, you can restore your iPad using that backup.

  • How can I get iTunes to refresh its database of the music on my PC?

This is what I want to do:
1.Delete a lot of tracks in various folders on my hard drive
2.Then get iTunes to run through its database and compare to my hard drive and remove any references to tracks it can no longer find.
How do I do this? I can't find a way of getting iTunes to order the tracks by folder location, nor does there seem to be a refresh method.
If you want to know why I want to do this:
I had a bunch of music on my PC when I installed iTunes. So iTunes added all the music it could find to its database but basically without any info, like Artist/Album etc etc.
Now, I don't mind importing my CD's again so that iTunes can organise it properly with all the info and track order info, but how do I get iTunes to forget about the stuff that was originally imported? Bearing in mind that I don't want to forget about everything, and also there doesn't seem to be a way of ordering the music by location. If there was, I could just ordrer it that way and then select the tracks I want to delete.
    Thanks in advance...

After a couple of days, I'm noticing that the repeat(ing) offenders have more than 10 episodes, and seem to keep repeating them every time I sync.
They only show once in my phone and in the iTunes Podcasts, but through iTunes and looking at what's in my phone is when I see the repeats.
Even after I've marked a podcast as played, and deleted it from within my phone, as well as telling iTunes to delete the played episodes, it still shows multiples of the played episodes.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it either. They aren't the newest ones either.

  • How can I recover a video which was deleted from the iPhone 4?  It was not synced before deletion.

    iPhone 4
Not synced, deleted a video from the phone.
Is there a way to recover the video?

What if it was synced - either to iCloud or iTunes (I'm not sure which one I backed up to) after the video was taken? How do I recover it? I have synced/backed-up my iPhone 4 since the video was deleted from my device. Is it still recoverable? Thanks.

  • How can one share iTunes Library across two machines at the same time?

**I have setup 1 of 2 machines to host all the songs in my iTunes library. I then went to machine 2 of 2 and held down option key on start up of iTUnes, changed the location of the liobrary on machine 2 to a shared folder on machine 1.**
**This works awesome and I can use itunes on each of the machines 1 and 2 with no duplicate library in my home.**
**Problem: I can only run one machine at a time. I can not run itunes on both machines at the same time. The error message from machine 2 is ITUNES library is locked and cant write to the folder. iTunes works correct if I QUIT iTunes on machine 1.**
**Can iTunes run at the same time on 2 machines and access the same library?**

  • How can I restore a contact which was deleted from Contacts?

I opened Contacts on OS X 10.9.1.  I noticed there was a duplicate contact.  I deleted the duplicate, then added some information to the remaining copy of the contact.  I closed contacts.  When I returned a few minutes later, the remaining copy was also gone, now I would like to restore it, but there is no information on how to do that.
    Thanks

  • How can Last Imported and All Imported be deleted from my iPad?

Attempts to delete those two "albums" fail because they go gray (in a manner of speaking) when Edit is tapped.
Also, when attempting delete, either an individual image or a group of images, I get the warning that to tap on delete will delete that image in other albums. Does that apply only to the images on the iPad? And if so, does syncing from iTunes back to the iPad restore that/those specific image(s) in their proper albums?
An ancillary question has also reared its head. Even though Places and Faces are unchecked in iTunes, many of them appear on the iPad. Why?
This series is prompted by the desire to free up space on a decidedly almost-full iPad!

From your backup, the originals are deleted now.

  • How can I restore iPhoto's that were deleted from the trash ?!

i Accidentally deleted my iPhoto's and cleared the trash . Is there any way to recover them ? Please ! Thank you

You can recover your photos only if you have got a backup of them. If you did not make any backup, I am sorry but they are lost. You can give data recovery applications a try, but you will spend money and they may not work.
It is very important to make backups of your files, so in this case you would recover them quickly, or in case of a computer failure.

  • How can I get iTunes to show movies again instead of a grey screen?

I was able to view my whole library of movies/music videos before the upgrade and now, iTunes will open my movies but it doesn't show them. It plays the sound but the screen is grey. It's a bit demoralising to break something that worked but to break it all together makes me wonder why I spent so much time and money building up my library.
If anyone can help or explain this, I would be grateful. I am running iTunes, 11.2.1(1) on an iMac (late 2013) running 10.9.3
    -Kevin.

Sorted... When screensharing two devices (in this case a Macbook pro and iMac) the following appears to be true:
    It isn't possible to view movies/videos on either of the devices that are screensharing;
Neither device as a result, even if a window is not up with the media being shown to the other device will show media (movie or music video).

  • How can I get iTunes to not show multiples of the same podcasts in my iPhone?

Not all, but some have the same episdoe multiple times. Every sync seems to add another one of them. This happens, through iTunes, in my iPhone 5. In iTunes, I show that I have 69 unplayed podcasts. When I sync, I can see it got to 68 for my phone (likely one is in the cloud), but then it flashes and now it shows 113. When I look at the unplayed podcasts, I show that some of them have as many as 17 of the same episode in my phone. When I go to my phone's podcast app, I see it once.
It doesn't happen to all episodes, and I can't find anything in common between those that it does happen to. The newest update to the podcast app and itunes brought back some features that have been missing for over a year, but this is getting weird.

  • How can i get iTunes to get rid of all the album art so my list of artists is nice and tight

just trying to get rid of all of the artwork on itunes so that I can have nice lists

If you removed all the art iTunes would still display an image against each artist and not squash them up any closer...
Surely having the correct art for every album is more attractive.

  • How can I enable Active Directory network login while maintaining the existing local user account data?

We have a user base of around 15 Macs that we would like to integrate into Active Directory. However, we need to maintain the existing users local account data but do not wish to have that data moved to the network. Is there an easy way to create the AD login and then move the existing account data to the new login while maintaining correct permissions?
I've had some success logging in as root and deleting the existing account, while maintaining the home folder. Then renaming it to match the AD login account name and replacing the new and empty AD user home.  I then perform a CHOWN on that folder to give ownership to the AD account name.
Is it this simple? I don't want to leave any loose ends.
Thanks for any help you can provide,
    Scott
