The only way to do it system wide is to take down the resolution a notch - go to System Preferences > Displays and click on scaled > decrease it a notch. If you don't like it, easy to change it back. Also, you can use Finder View Options and change the font size to larger.

It sounds like you are using the Define function in iBooks and you are wanting to increase the size of the font on the page showing the definition. The size of that text can be controlled in the Text Size section:
To adjust the font size, follow these steps:

Do you own a copy of Aperture, perhaps bought for another Mac?
If you have not bought Aperture, you need to buy it from the AppStore.
But if you own Aperture and have it bought from the AppStore on another Mac, sign into theAppStore on your new iMac with the same AppleID you used to buy Aperure on your other Mac. Then look at the "Purchased" tab of he AppStore. It show Aperture, with the "Install" button to the right. Simply press the "Install" button and download it to your new iMac. Or if you have bought Aperture on a CD/DVD, run the installer from the CD/DVD on your new mac and immediately run software update to upgrade the Aperture 3. version to version that will run with Mavericks.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I caught the flu.
I just went to work for this company. The company has been creating and maintaining these documents with Acrobat for may years.
I live 75 miles from the office. The company has agreed that I can work from home.
The first attempt at this was emailing PDF documents back and forth.
I may need access to the company network via a VPN.
I have a lot experience doing these types of documents with MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Then creating a PDF document from the docx and pptx..
The company wants to continue creating and maintaining the documents in Acrobat because everyone in the office knows how to do it.
So at this time I'll try to use Acrobat.

I've just got a new iPhone 4s.When I ordered it with O2 the sales lady told me i could keep all my texts from old samsung phone by transferring them onto the new sim and then from that onto the phone. I've got as far as putting the new sim in the phone but can't find how to get the texts from the sim onto the new phone.

I don' t want them to get away with crap selling and now even more appalling customer service. And i don't want to lose my texts which are now on a microsim that won't tranfer to the iphone. How can I move my music to my new iMac?

I've copied over all the music from my other computer to the new iMac, but iTunes doesn't see any of it, nor do any of the playlists show up.
I've gone into the prefs and properly assigned the folder containing all the music to it, but nothing shows up.
I've grabbed all the preferences I can see withing the Users Library, and still nothing.
What am I missing?

As I can see in this article, describes the option you have to export all your iTunes files to anther hard disk from where itunes app will read the files exists, that could be another internal hard drive or External drive, but not transferring all the files and the Playlists you have in your first computer to the iTunes of another computer.
I really didn't mean to use the Import option, that is another possibility. The other options I haven't use is the "Export" that is in the File Menu. You can export either you Music (without files) or "Export Library". Some of those two options must have the info of all your playlists. I am going to test one of those exports and import them in another iTunes that I have in my office and has all the same audio files that I have in my home computer. In the office I don't have all the playlists that in the original does.
If those don't do the trick, I guess there must be an option to achieve having all your files togehter with you Playlists.

no. this should work. you can try getting a 3rd party app like istat menu or the istatpro widget but they should all show the same thing as the activity monitor.

How can I lock text sizes in presentations?

Sorry folks, frustrated and confused. Still trying to hold on to Keynote from iWork 09 since that is what I am used to and don't see anything in the new free version that is better.
I create presentations on a MacBook Pro and have particular type sizes I want to use - presentations are essentially church worship bulletins for display during the service - Lots of Words - I use particular sizes / fonts/ and colors to indicate things like -- the reader is reading this - this is an instruction (stand/sit/ etc) This is what you say or sing.
When I save the file and re-open the type sizes have been changed! The box that says scale font to fit text box is NOT checked. What is happening?

The new layout means the Safari search bar is takIng up about an inch and a half of my screen! The old io6 search bar was more slimline. Is there any way to go back to the old layout? As it is, my viewing of web pages is limited by having so much space taken up by the search bar.
