This will require an amount of programmatic logic, though. If you wanted to keep things a bit simpler, add another applet that runs at 22:00 that configures a watchdog pinging applet, then a third applet that runs at 22:10 that removes the pinging applet.

I would like to create a script which in a specific time-frame collects some outputs and also pings every 10 seconds.
To collect the outputs every minute from 22:00PM to 22:10PM I have the following:

To confirm connectivity to the device doing the SNMP polls I would like to execute a ping every 10 seconds in the same timeframe.
Cron seems only to support minutes. Is it possible to combine a watchdog timer + a cron timer?
Can this ping function be incorporated in the SNMP output applet or will I have to write a new one?
Will I need TCL here (I have no experience in TCL)?

How can I execute a command after kernel-upgrade/mkinitcpio

Because of the archlinux specific kernelnaming-policy there's a problem when using grub2. The created menu looks nasty because grub-mkconfig can't find the proper kernel-version. (Bugreport: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/25453)
Even if this is fixed we need to recreate the grubconfig always when a new kernel-version is installed.
What I want now is executing grub-mkconfig after each kernel-installation/mkinitcpio, without repackaging the kernel. Is such a hook possible?

This is not necessary unless Versioned Kernel Installs are supported by pacman. I have added a new patch to https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jth3mchm3hob … src.tar.gz that solves the issue. No need for pacman or mkinitcpio hooks (for now).

How to execute unix command from ODI Procedure

Hi,
I am trying to execute below unix command from ODI Procedure (Command on Target tab) but I am getting the error "java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "cd": error=2, No such file or directory" but when I try to execute the same command using OdiOSCommand, it is executing successfully. I don't want to use shell script to execute this command. Is there any specific syntax am I missing to execute this command from ODI procedure?
cd /project3/tmt/;ls *.dmp > dmplist.lst
Please help me on this...

Thank you for the reply.
I used below command in Procedure but still getting the same error as "java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "OdiOSCommand": error=2, No such file or directory".
OdiOSCommand "-COMMAND=cd /project3/tmt/;ls *.dmp > dmplist.lst"
as I mentioned earlier if I use the command cd /project3/tmt/;ls *.dmp > dmplist.lst in OdiOSCommand tool it is executing successfully without any issues.
any thoughts appreciated to get a solution for this issue.

you can call shell script using the OS command found in Package.
Step 1. Drag the OS Command in the Packgae
Step 2. In the Text mentiond call the script say for ex sh /opt/path/script.sh
Step 3. Execute.
Note : Make sure the User through which ODI is triggering does have the required permission to execute shellscript , also always provide the full path , since scripts are execute from the oracldi/bin folder so its necessary to provide the complete path of the script location.

How can I execute program after using F4_Filename function?

I'm a new user on the forum. I've been working with ABAP and SAP for a few weeks. I wrote a program for importing data from excel file to SAP using BDC. During searching this forum I found information about F4_Filename function which allows users to browse the disc for a file. I'd like to add this function to my program. I have a parameter for a file name but this is an ordinary static string field. When I added the code which I found in the message on this forum the rest of program doesn't execute.
This is simple program for example:
REPORT Z_TEST8_AB.
DATA f_name TYPE STRING.
PARAMETERS p_file like rlgrap-filename DEFAULT 'c:\test.xls'.
f_name = p_file.
write:/ f_name.
This program works correctly. There is a field for parameter. I can change the default name for a file.
After all, I can run the program (F8) and rest of the code is executed. The field for parameter dissapears from the screen and the file name is displayed. ( command write)
Now I added a function F4_Filename
REPORT Z_TEST8_AB.

at selection-screen on value-request for p_file.
call function 'F4_FILENAME'
 exporting

I can browse a computer for a file now but after selecting the file I can't run the rest of the code. When I click on the icon or press key F8 the field for parameter doesn't dissapier and the command write is not executed.
What do I do wrong?
Could anyone suggest me a solution? How can I executed the code after using this function?

How can I execute external application?

Hi friends I want printing my barcodes a laser printer (Kyocera) it isn't a barcode printer. So I think (and I look kyocera web page my model doesn't support barcode printing in sap) print my barcodes using an external system. Before SAP we are using JollyPrint application for printing barcodes. It is using an Excel file.
I can create a excel file for this application. I must execute this (JollyPrint-it is a label application) application when I press a button. How can I execute this application?

Well, I can suggest you following steps. May be it works for you .
-Create an external OS command in SM69
-Test OS command in SM49 ( about OS command if you search in SDN youll get lot of material )
-Create a Script at your OS level, Im assuming you might have some UNIX flavor or Sun solarias.
-Create a Shell script , which execute the printer job from OS .
-Shell script will have parameters . ( e.g. printer name, destination etc )
-set the path of shell script directory in SM69 ( the command you just created )
-Execute shell script using your ABAP program ( use FM "SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE" )
In the ABAP program you can pass the parameters and execute the command from ABAP as a result your job will start printing on the required destination. Moreover, you can also capture the spool at OS level .
FYI
For UNIX script, if you search in www.google.com ( UNIX forums) . youll get shell script .

just execute the exelfile with the Windows "start" command:
Runtime.exec("cmd /c start "+excelFileName);But this requires that Excel is the default application for the Excel file type (*.xls). You can test this by simply typing "start myTestExcel.xls" in a dos box.

Sudo can't execute some commands[SOLVED]

Hi Archers,
I am using sudo and disable root account. There is some problems with sudo such as the following commands:
#sudo echo "1234" >/etc/rc.local
# sudo cd /root
I can't execute these commands with sudo, instead i have to login as root and execute the commands. So the question is how can I solve these problems?
The Second issue is how can I give certain user the commands that they can execute. For example, user A is only allowed to use "ls" commands and not any other commands?

You can't use those commands because it aren't real commands, it are shell builtins and they are ran by your shell which is ran by your regular user.
sudo echo foo > bar
This runs the "echo" binary as root but the ">" part is handled by the shell, appropriate way to handle this:
echo foo|sudo tee bar
cd wont work neither, if it did you could cd to a directory you don't have permissions to and then you would be in their as regular user, unable to do anything... You should just work from outside /root or use sudo -s.
For the user thing: man sudoers.

as previous posters said: it's not possible to do this without declaring a variable in the anonymous block.
With anonymous block it would look like this (had to change it a bit, since i'm using hr-schema on oracle XE):
