How can i export an iphoto slideshow to quicktime?

I know how to do this. But its not working!! I have a 33 picture slideshow w music that I want to export to a quicktime movie. So I did this and I have a quicktime .mov file created. However when I launch it in Quicktime, Quicktime opens for a moment and then quits out. It announces an error message: The application Quicktime Player quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the 3ivxVideoCodec plug-in. Huh? What is that? All I want to do is put this Quicktime video on a dvd disk and give someone a copy to watch at home. Thats all.... help...

There are QuickTime folders at
HD/Library
And
HD/System/Library
Is it in one of those? If so, drag it to the desktop and restart your Mac.
Why? Because it's causing the problem...

If you MacBook Pro came with Lion preinstalled then you will not have a copy of iDVD. That's because iDVD and iWeb have been discontinued by Apple and is not longer being included in iLife.
You can purchase a copy from Amazon.com: iLive 11.

As for iDVD the following is a recommended workflow to follow;
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

If you want to have the slideshow in your iBook's iPhoto Library as it is in your iMac's library you'll need to copy the entire library from your iMac to your iBook.
A 3rd option is to export the photos used in the slideshow to a folder on the Desktop, copy that folder to the iBook, import into the iBooks library and recreate the slideshow.

I try to export a Keynote presentation to Quicktime. This works, obviously, although it doesn't maintain the carefully timed transitions I set up. Instead, it just the default transition time for every slide, instead of the custom transitions I entered.
The default transition time now is 5 seconds. I tried removing the 5 but it just returns and entering 0 seconds does exactly that; 0 seconds.
Does anybody have an idea as to what I should do to fix this dastardly problem?

This is a well known problem with Keynote 6.1, the only thing you can do is use Keynote 5.3 instead, if you have it.

Before you can decide what to do, you have to know what you are starting with. Sony MPEG-1 files would be converted one way while DivX or WMV files would likely be handled in another. Extraneous tracks can be removed directly with QT Pro but if you don't have QT Pro then there may or may not be other work around possibilities depending on the specific audio and video compression formats in use. The best place to start would normally be to double-clic the source file in iPhoto to open it in the QT Player. When it opens in the QT Player, check the "Inspector" window to see what it says on the "Format:" lines. This will tell you the type of audio and video content you are dealing with here. Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. For iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier select Size = Medium or Large. For iPhoto 9.5 and later selct 480p.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.

If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com. Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

Aperture cannot burn slideshows to a DVD. It only can export a video of your slideshow.
In Aperture 3 you use the "Export" button in Aperture's slideshow project to render a video to a folder on your disk.
Then you use iDVD or another program to burn a video DVD.
I cannot do a copy (export) without various error messages appearing and the inevitable stoppage occurring. Always with the DVD Video Player final message reading, “Supported disc not available.”

How are you exporting your slideshow from Aperture? Which settings are you using? And how are you importing the video to iDVD or Toast to burn a video DVD?
