How can I export to a web page with movies?

Hello,
I just noticed that when I exported a folder of pictures and movies to a web page, only the pictures showed up. Is there a way I can use the export to web page feature and see my movies?

Are you using iWeb to create your web page? If so then the only options from within iPhoto for exporting are a photo page or blog page. You need to export only the photos and once in iWeb create a separate movie page and import that movie to that specific page via the Media button at the bottom.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Delete the web page where it is published.
If it is published to MobileMe, then you need to log into MobileMe and go to your iDisk or mount it on your desktop and then delete it from your Web/sites folder.
If you have published to a server, then you'll need to download Cyberduck, Filezilla or Transmit - all dedicated ftp programmes to connect with your host/server and then delete your old files from the server.
It really is not hard.

I intend to publish the "status" of an experiment online through an web page. I mean, if my vi is running i would like to have a phrase or indicator set on at my web page. If my Vi is not running i would like this indicator set off. This page is hosted in a server and I would like to know if its possible to update the html file from labview through an ftp connection.

The system exec function is on the Communication palette. Its for executing system commands. On my Win2K system, the help for FTP is:

Transfers files to and from a computer running an FTP server service (sometimes called a daemon). Ftp can be used interactively. Click ftp commands in the Related Topics list for a description of available ftp subcommands. This command is available only if the TCP/IP protocol has been installed. When the ftp sub-environment is running, it is indicated by the ftp command prompt.

I use tftp all of the time to transfer files in a similar manner. Test the transfer from the Windows command line and copy it into a VI. Pass the command line to system exec and wait until it's done.

How can I stop Safari reloading web pages every time?

When I am using Safari on my iPad I frequently want to jump between web pages or between the internet and other applications. This is simple on my laptop as once I have loaded a page it does not require reloading until I ask it to, but on my iPad I find it next to impossible as each page gets reloaded when you move back to it. We have a slow internet connection and that coupled with the latest version of iOS working slowly on my iPad makes it very frustrating.
Is there anyway I can stop Safari from doing this?

I wish it was that simple, but I'm afraid it's not. Turning off Background App Refresh doesn't affect page reloading. Supposedly the reloads are due to limited memory forcing Safari to keep no more than a very few (3 to 5, depending on device) pages in memory; pages therefore routinely get deleted from memory, thus forcing reloads. I haven't tried it yet, but reportedly the iCab browser ($1.99) retains its tabs / web pages and will display them without reloads. As will a couple of other browsers, just not Safari. I would like to export my about:config page, so that when I reinstall Firefox I do not have to go back and manually change what I changed in the past

Copy the prefs.js file(it is in the profile) somewhere and then insert it.
The prefs.js file does not actually contain all of the settings. It only '''stores changes made to the defaults''', after they are written back to disk.

How Can I Capture Images from Web Page

When I use Create PDF from Web Page, Acrobat downloads all the text and backgrounds and everything else except the images / photos. Instaed of the photos I only get hypertext links to those photos. I have tried every setting I could find to no avail. What am I missing?

How can I export a keynote proyect to a movie?

I am making an assigment for the university and I don't know how to export a keynote presentation to a movie, ( with short videos and narration inside of it ).
I tried quicktime export and it didin't work , the whole timing thing was awful!
I really need this presentation to be exported into a DVD or a CD or anything so I can give it to my guide teacher...

This is a well known problem with Keynote 6.1, the only thing you can do is use Keynote 5.3 instead, if you have it.

I'm getting this bing thing and I cant remove it and change it. Ive tried going to "about:config" and changing the browser url and keyword.URL but it wont change.. Very unhappy and thinking its time for a change.

There's a hidden setting for new tabs. It is quick to change, even though it takes a long time to explain it.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter your preferred page:
* ''Page thumbnails (default)'' => about:newtab
* ''Blank tab'' => about:blank
* ''Built-in Firefox home page'' => about:home
* ''Any other page'' => full URL to the page
Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?
Two gotchas:
* If Firefox ignores the setting, one of your extensions may be overriding it. You can review, disable, and/or remove extensions on the add-ons page:<br><br>orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > ''in the left column click'' Extensions

How can I export a PDF photo portfolio with a clean cover page?

Hello,
I have compiled a photo portfolio in Bridge and wish to have a clean cover page that does not have the contact info, copyright, etc., that exists on the photo pages. The cover page was created in Ps and imported into Bridge.
From what I can see, Bridge does not allow you to add info to certain pages, it's either none or all of them - which unfortunately includes the cover page.
Any thoughts? I do like how Bridge lays out the portfolio with size of image related to size of file.

How can I export iDVD into iWeb Page?

I made a short DVD by sending iPhoto pictures to iDVD. Everything works fine: music, captions etc., but I cannot get it into my iWeb page. Is there any way now to export it to iMovie so iWeb can take it?

You need to export the slideshow from iPhoto to a Quicktime movie and then add that movie to iWeb. Did you export just the photos and add the music, captions, etc there?
There are a couple of ways to add a movie to iWeb and avoid having the movie load while the page is loading: 1 - QT movies; 2 - Opening Movie in New, Specially Sized Window.
The key is toexport out of iPhoto as a QT movie.

my try would be:
digg in the MS KBs about command line options of PP
start PP with the (system) execute vi , full screen presentation (automatic show with known delay??)
use the (system) send key vi to step through the presentation (if no auto mode is possible)
use the screen shot function to cature the screen and search this forum on how to save it as a jpg (or png? )
