How can I find out what symbols are connected to any key+option combination?

More speciffcaly, is there a way to get the greek letter alpha? I do a lot of work in higher education and this symbol keeps eluding me.

In many apps, Edit > Special Characters will bring up the Character Viewer. Click on the gear wheel at the top left and choose Customize to add categories if you do not see what you want at first. Drag/drop or double-click to input.
I don't think you can input α from the keyboard unless you activate a Greek keyboard layout, which is probably not worth the trouble.

Thank you for reaching out to us. We certainly know the importance of being able to know what options are available with your device. With apps on devices, thoses are specific to the phone itself, so there is no open forum to view what apps are downloaded. The only option would be to physically review from the phone, or if you have the same Apple ID you can log into it and view from there. Please let us know if you need anymore assistance.

Go into settings , general, usage and it tells you what the apps use. If your refering to the memory storage of the apps.

How can I find out what calendars are in my .mac account?

A simple question, but I am struggling with the answer.
I have used ical since it first came out and have found it brilliant and very easy to use and access both from the office and also from home. However because I have used it for so long I have had various changes in staff. I am keen to find out if there are any 'other' calendars created by anyone who has/had access to ical via my .mac account.
The calendars must be stored somewhere online? How can I find out what calendars I am hosting?

How can I find out what email is connected to my apple ID account

Trying to download an app onto my iphone but can't remember my password. tried to retrieve my password but nothing has been sent to my email. tried several times. is there anyway to see what email is connected to my apple ID account?
I've tried all of them but my wife set up my phone and I'm lost. (it's not going to her email address either)
help? I can't do anything with my phone without my apple ID password!
(PS. Posting this from my son's account. As I cannot create one without my apple ID password. lol)

None of my email addresses. Which makes me think it was entered incorrectly originally.
When I tried to answer the security questions it asks my birthdate and then asks "answer your secret question"
I have no idea what that question is. Lol. Like I said, my wide set this up with me and neither of us can remember what question was asked. It was a year ago.

If you are running OSX 10.9, open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store (top right of the window). Click on your account name (on the top left of the window) and click Account. Under iTunes in the Cloud, go to Manage Devices. Then remove anything you dont want in there.

What do you mean by being tied to your wife's phone ? For things like contacts, calendars, safari bookmarks then what account do you have in Settings > iCloud on your phone ?

How can I find out what apple IDs are tied to an email address

We are trying to set up FaceTime and got the verification error on the email address. We went in to the Apple ID account and when we verify the email address, it tells us that it's tied to another AppleID. My daughter has 3 other AppleIDs and we've checked each one of them and the email address is not tied to any of them.
How can we find out what apple ID is tied to this email address?
We have used the "Forgot my Apple ID" function and used all 3 of the different email addresses she's used on the accounts and when we access the one that says there's a duplicate, it takes us to the account and it's the one with the email address that I noted above.
Any thougts or help?

You might try to see if you can change your security questions. Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account > Password and Security.
I'm able to do this, others say they need to input answers to their current security questions in order to make changes, I'm inclined to think its worth a try, you don't have anything to lose.

My iphone is toast, I know I checked on icloud and see my emails from the day before it happened. Can I see when and what my phone backed up through itunes or icloud?

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases - the most recent purchase is above the list. I'm not sure if that shows auto-renewing subscriptions (I don't have any so I can't check).
If you can't find the charges and you haven't added or changed your card details on your account (when you do then a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the details are correct and valid, which should disappear within a few days) then you can contact iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
