How can I Find/Replace a word on all cast members together rather than one at a time?

I currently use Director 11.5.9 with Windows 7 64 bit
I have some director movies I programmed years ago. I included the file extension .dir when I used "go to movie" statements (I didn't know any better at that time). For example, I would write, go to movie "alpha.dir". I have now updated those movies to Director 11.5.9 and want to protect them by updating them to .dxr movies. Obviously, the code "go to movie name.dir" won't work any more. I need to take out the .dir extensions from every occurance in those movies. Most all of them are cast scripts on buttons. A few of them appear in score scripts.
In searching this forum, I did find some tips for search/replace on ALL cast scripts, but when I attempted to follow them I did not find the options they suggested on the drop down menus.
Can someone tell me the steps for going into a Director movie and telling the Find and Replace function to replace ALL occurences of ".dir" in Cast Scripts with ""?
Currently, I am having to find them manually and replace them one at a time. There are a LOT movies with a LOT of occcurences of .dir, so this is far too slow. I'm sure it can be done more efficiently.
Any help than anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. I have a project that is coming due very soon and I don't want to delay it if possible.

When you open any script in this movie and press CTRL+F it should open a search-and-replace text dialog with a "Replace all" button/option that does exactly what you are asking for - unless I've misunderstood.

If you enabled the "Find My iPhone" feature prior to the device being lost, go to iCloud.com, sign in and select the locate option.
If you did not enable the feature prior to the device being lost then you are basically out of luck.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
In the case of this theoretical lower third to be applied to more than one title at a time
a. Is there text in the lower third besides a graphic of some kind?
b. Are all the titles to which this lower third is to be applied all together on the Timeline or scattered?
If no text in lower third and titles all together, then, with text titles on Video 1 and lower third on Video 2, drag out the lower third to cover the length of the text titles on Video 1.
I do not find "lower third" title files to be in the same category as certain effects where the Copy and "Paste Attributes" or "Paste Effects and Adjustments" lend themselves so well.
Let us see what others have to say about all this. I will continue to experiment with what you seek and how you would prefer to get there. I am not optimistic but I will try.

I did a little research on this, as I found some strange things with the .plist files.
It appears that Apple has changed the way that the plist files are handled, and there is now an extra step in the trashing-the-.plist-file fix:
1. hold down the option key
2. in the Go menu in the Finder, scroll down to Libary
3. in Library, find Preferences
4. in Preferences, find com.apple.desktop.plist and drag it to the trash.
5. go to Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor
     1. Sort by Process Name and look for two processes named cfprefsd.
     2. Make sure you select the one that has your user account, not "root", listed as the User.
     3. Click the X up at the top left to kill that process
5. restart
6. this will generate a new .plist file, so you will have to reenter your preferences.

But why if you're running 10.6 do you need to do this? AW works fine in 10.6 with Rosetta.

How do you import prior Backed-Up Fox Favorities. This involved many short-cuts and contained in multiple sub-folders.
How can I import the whole folder library rather than one short-cut at a time from each folder.

The favorites shortcuts were not IE but from Firefox. I had a operating system failure. So, after re-installing the operating system, I then had to re-install all applications anew.
After installing Fox 6.0, the problem is my prior use of folders and sub-folders with many favorites shortcuts in each.
It appears that I will need to start anew with creating a folder system in the new firefox application. Then take all of the favorites shortcuts, individually, out of folders and put them in a file in a row, in an antilog fashion. Then try to get Firefox to accept them in some fashion.
I also do not know how to (1) export IE Favorites (2) in IE (3) to an HTML?
I am just lost.

I have a book that consists of 10 different files and many many different text boxes. I need to find out what the total word count is for the entire book. Is there a simple way to do this, or do I have to copy and paste all the text from InD into a word file to get the number? Your help is much appreciated.

HT1766 How can I select an older backup to restore my device from, rather than restoring from last backup performed?

I did a backup after doing a sync with my iTunes only to find that I un-ticked the sync apps box, resulting in my apps to be deleted and most of them losing their data. I have all the data of these apps on backups I did previously to the most recent one but don't know how to select older backups.
Is their anyway to restore my device from an older backup, rather than the most recent one?

Knowing where backups are stored is one thing, interpreting them (and getting them back to your iOS device) is another!
If you did your sync, but no backup immeiately after it (for some reaon some people do) then you may have success. Without connecting your iPad to our computer, go to the screen I mentioned in my earlier post and put a tick in the box PREVENT IPOD .... FROM BACKING UP AUTOMATICALLY and click OK. Then connect your iPad and restore from the previous backp if it is there! You can then go back and change the PREVENT...... setting.
When you get this all sorted out you can consider iCloud for additional backups. If you do not use iCloud routinely then you can switch it on temporarily to do a manual backup, even multiple backups.
However, you can trick iTunes into doing additional backups by changing the device name. For instance, you can do a backup under the device name of, say, Liam's iPad, then change the iPad name to Liam's iPad 1, Liam's iPad 2, etc with a backup under each name! Whichever backup name you use in due course to restore your iPad is the name that will appear as your device name under Settings on the iPad.

The only way they would all come over is if your wife had automatic downloads turned on in her store settings on the phone before she downloaded the apps. A popup for this option also comes up when you first sign into an apple id on the phone in the app store. If she didn't have that setting turned on, she'll have to download them one by one.
She could also try to sync them over from a computer that has itunes on it

How can I show the name in the list of new messages rather than the address

I have noticed something weird in Apple mail. In the list of new messages, the FROM field sometimes shows the email address rather than the name of the sender (even if that sender is in my address book). Because of this, when I search for some users, I can search by name but for others I must search by email address. However, in the FROM field when I actually open the message, the full name is always in the field rather than the email address (if the contact is in my address book at least).

How can i send emailed PDF's directly to my iPad iBooks rather than have them sitting in my inbox unorganized...

I had hoped that my PDF's in my iPhone iBooks would automatically also go to my iPad iBooks without the need for syncing. Is there some setting to make that happen?
If that is not an option, how can I send my emailed PDF's directly to my iPad iBooks; I no longer want them sitting in my email folder since there is no way to organize the content of the email folders and I am looking for a way to organize this information that I need to be able to quickly retrieve.
