    I understand you are having issues adding payment information to your account. In my experience, this usually occurs due to two common reasons (though there may be more):
    If your account information does not match your credit card, you may get a message stating "The credit card was declined."
    To expand on the above, your billing name or address may not match the address listed on your credit card statement. Any discrepancy in punctuation, abbreviation, or capitalization can cause errors, which might prevent you from purchasing from the iTunes Store. If you moved, or if your zip code changed recently, ask your credit card company to make sure their records are up to date and match exactly what you are entering as your billing information.
    The iTunes Store will place a minimal authorization hold on your credit card each time that you update your account information (equal to around 1 USD). The authorization hold is not a charge. The authorization hold is placed on your credit card to make sure that the information provided matches the information on file with your financial institution. The authorization hold will not be displayed in your iTunes Store purchase history.
    If there are insufficient funds in the account to cover the authorization hold, you may experience issues with adding payment information.

    What sort of card are you trying to use ? If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
    If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ?     I think I had a similar problem the other day. I purchased an app with a cc that had been canceled by my bank with out me knowing it had been. Once I realized the cc was no longet active I added an itunes giftcard thinking that would allow me to purchase items. Well everytime I tried to ourchase somrthing with the new gift card it kept telling me that I had no funds. So someone in the apple store told me that until the app purchase with the old expired cc cleared on that cc then i would not be able to use any other form of payment. So I had to call my bank and asked them to reactivate my old cc for a couple seconds while I repurchased the app with my bank on the phone. Once that purchae cleared then it allowed me to use apple gift cards. Sorry for long answer but I think this might help you.

    If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
    It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.
    Plants vs. Zombies, and that is all for additional software on here
    FYI:  Some third party software can cause issues with the App Store >   Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text
    Apple is not responsible for incompatibility isssues with third party software.

    It sounds like you have a credit card saved to your Apple ID payment information and you would like it to be removed from the account and set the payment method to None. You should be able to do this with the following article:

    Update the information that you want to change.

    Have you tried going to Settings>iTunes & App Store, and signing out? Click on your Apple ID, then on Sign Out. Then sign back in again and try again.
    Also, make sure you have closed the app: double-click the Home key and swipe up on it to close it. Then try again.

    I don't think that the "none" option is available in every country. Where are you located?
    If you can't remove the credit card by any other means, you might want to contact iTunes support. You can choose your country in the bottom right corner.

    As above, there is more to Safari than just the App, however I dont like the changes in 5.1, so restored the 5.0 version of just the App and it functions just like it used to
    It might not work for you, and it can just be deleted if it doesn't, not sure how easy it is without time machine
    go into Finder and Applications folder
    enter time machine (it will default to app folder)
    find a date that you had 5.0
    click to restore it (Do Not restore into original location, restore it to desktop to test it)
    When this has been done, run Safari from your desktop and see if it fixes your issue
    I have been using this version done like this for a couple of weeks and it is fine, I did copy it to the Application\Utitlities folder along with some other older software I have, then made this one the version on my dock
    If it doesn't make any difference just delete Safari.app from your desktop

    I made a purchse for an iPad Mini on November 3rd, 2012 and everything was great, I had no issues with my Debit/Visa Card at the time of purchase. But then a week or so after I went to check my status of my order and it said this:
    "Payment action required: We are unable to obtain an authorization for the credit card you provided. /Nous n'avons pas pu obtenir l'autorisation pour votre carte de crédit. Please update your payment method to continue with this order."
    So, I thought that was a bit strange. So, I re-entered all my information and Devit/visa card number and everything and it was fine. A hour or so later, I got the same message. I honestly didn't know what was wrong, so I called Apple and they said they tried entering everything in, and it wouldn't work. So they told me to call the bank, and I did and the bank said "There's no restrictions and there should be problems whatsoever with your order. There's nothing wrong with our end". So I called Apple back, and they were trying again and again but still no luck
    So, I don't know what to do next. They said they would talk to the Payment team and get back to me and they should solve my answer by the end of the day. But I honeslty don't know what to do, because I was suppose to receive my iPad Mini on November 29th, but my payment method isn't working. I don't know what to do. This is a gift for my Dad's birthday too
    I've never had a problem with purchasing anything online with my Card, only on Apple. Also, I have the right amount of money in my bank to pay for it as well as my daily limit.
    If anyone has an answer for me, that would be awesome

    I called the Bank/Credit card and they told me that there was nothing wrong with my card, and I also verified with them my address and it was the same. I honestly don't know what to do, Apple didn't even know what was wrong.

    Okay so I just got an iPhone 5. My first iPhone. In the past I've had two different iPods, an iPod Touch 3rd Generation, and an iPad 2.
    I only have 87 cents in my bank account so I paid cash for a $15 iTunes card so I could get some applications on my new iPhone 5. I realize that iTunes won't let me download updates or buy new applications when my bank account has a low or insufficient balance, so it will ask to verify the code on the back of the card. After entering the code, it says to please enter valid information. The information is valid, but won't be accepted because it has a low balance.
    I tried selecting "None" as my payment options to see if that would allow me to make purchases using the $15 balance I just redeemed from the iTunes card. It doesn't seem to help the situation.
    I went to contact Apple, but I had to schedule a call (this is the first time I've ever had to contact support for a problem - ever). I also sent in an email hoping I would get a response sooner. I want to play with my phone now, not in a few days when they can finally call me back...
    While trying to figure out a solution to this, I ran into a couple of security questions that aren't even mine... They can't be because I don't have an answer for them. These security codes are not mine. I tried putting in an answer and it didn't work - obviously, because the questions don't apply to me. What the heck is going on Apple? I've never had so much trouble with your services before.
    I'm not very happy right now.

    Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
    If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
    Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
    I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.
