How can I fix my speakers? They stopped working randomly today.

Today (I don't know the exact time), my speakers on my Macbook Pro stopped working. I don't know if it matters, but today I also got the newest OS X Lion update (not the whole software, just the update for iCloud) and the new iPhoto update 7.1. I've read some people had this problem and a red light was on in the earphone jack, but I didn't see one so I'm posting here. Is there any way I can fix this? I looked at Sound on System Preferences, but no help. If I push the volume buttons, there's no noise, but it adjusts. Is there anything I can do? Thanks!

I had similar problem, and tried everything mentioned in the forums to fix it. Then, randomly, I tried to send an imessage from my iphone to my daughter (who ONLY has imessage through her email, and therefore NO cellular option to receive) and Bingo- a box popped up asking me to sign in to my Apple account. Then it worked fine for everyone. I don't know why it didn't think I was signed in, because I had signed in everywhere- but that was the fix.

You might be having a heat issue.
Try this procedure:
Unplug the PC and open it up. Clean out all the dust. Carefully remove and replace all the cables going to the motherboard one at a time. Do the same for the memory dimms and the video and sound cards if you have any. You might want to buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of the CPU heat sink. Plug your PC back in and give it a go.

If none of your third-party apps are working, but the Apple built-in ones are ok, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted. I have a jQuery plugin on my site that I really want to use (Quicksand). I built the site in Dreamweaver, and now I want to animate the elements in Edge Animate, but I noticed as soon as I did anything, the Quicksand plugin stopped working! I troubleshooted for a while and discovered that it was simply the attachment of the edgePreload.js file that kept it from working... how do I fix this?

So I have a late 2006 1.83 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook A1185. And last night I upgraded my software to Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8. And then this morning when I went to start doing work on it, my trackpad wouldn't allow me to click on anything. It would only scroll my little mouse icon around, so pretty much making my trackpad useless:/ So then I kind of had a panic attack and rebooted at least 10 times (no joke), and then remembered I had a external mouse I could use to plug in. So I plugged that in, and it worked fine as long as I didn't touch the trackpad at all. And then I got annoyed of that because it started to hurt my wrist, so I took out my battery(6 month old 3rd party battery), and then my trackpad started to work? I was slightly aggravated, and confused. So then I put the battery back in, and it stopped working again. So I am puzzled if it is just I need a better battery? Or to replace my trackpad and keyboard? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, so thank you in advance:)

Ok, that's what I have done... I have Snow Leopard Installed, 10.8.6 and it's got Boot Camp 3.0.4... my questionis the Mac Windows Install Drivers you add after installing Windows. Windows looks terribly awkward and I'm guessing it has something to do with the ATI graphics card sofware the mac disk installed. Is is ok to use the one I created years ago? I can't seem to find a place to create a new one using the 10.8.6 and 3.0.4.
When I orignially installed Boot Camp you had to create a disk using Boot Camp that you installed in Windows after the initial OS installation.

I assume you know where your catalogue file (the lrcat file) is located. In the same folder is a previews lrdata folder which you should delete or rename in Explorer, then start LR again.
If I've made incorrect assumptions above, sorry, and we'll go back over it from the start.

They would have to have your name in their contacts and then assign your email address to your contact. It's similar to receiving a regular text message from a phone number you do not have saved in your contacts; their phone number will show up instead of their name, but once you add them to your contacts their name will show up.
