How can I fix wifi communication MountainLion to printer MG8250?

I have a MacBookPro and Canon 8250 printer connected by in house wifi. The printer worked fine until a few days ago. Then printing started to generate the message "Support code 300: The printer does not respond." Help getting printer going again much appreciated

Here is a link to the MG8250 driver from Canon Australia.
Note that you don't need to download this driver as you will most likely already have it installed on the Mac. This same driver is available from Apple, so when you previously connected to the wireless MG, you would have got a prompt asking if you want the driver downloaded from Apple.
Also, this model supports Apple's AirPrint driver, which will be added by default when you connect to the wireless printer.
With the error code that you are getting, try turning off the MG power and unplugging the power cord for about a minute. Then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on. Wait until the blue WiFi LED on the MG comes back on and then see if you can print again.

    Paper size & type
    Printer driver setting you are selecting when you try to print.
    Is it a paper type mismatch or a paper size mismatch?
    Size mismatch can occur if the printer thinks one size us loaded but the actual size is different.  Type mismatch is similar.  Different models have different ways in which this can happen because differences in the sensors within the printer.

    What do you do differently to print on Photo Paper than to print on plain paper?
    iPhoto has no idea of what paper is being printed - that is totally a function of the printer and the print driver supplied with the printer - you need to look at the printer specific options and your printer manual and/or support forums

         My iPod touch is always recognized by my Vista Box...using the same USB cable and port my wife's nano isn't detected anymore.  Since Vista can't see the nano iTunes can't see it either.  When I try my wife's nano I get the message:
         "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows doesn't recognize it.  For assistance in solving this problem, click this message"
         I thought her nano wasn't charged enough but I've charged it for hours and this doesn't make a difference.  It used to synch like my ipod touch but it stopped working about a week ago.  My wife's nano still holds songs and works it just can't be recognized by Windows.  I even checked if the Apple Mobile Device app was running and it was and I stopped it and restarted it.  Didn't make any difference.  Any ideas?

    FCP, and all software on OSX, has a few different "preference" files (the extension is .plist), which store all your user settings. Each time you resize a window, change a setting, anything, this file is re-written. Kinda easy to see how they would become corrupt every now and then.
    -Close FCP
    -Navigate to User>Library>Preferences and delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
    -Navigate to User>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data and delete Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs
    -Empty your trash
    Relaunch FCP and see if that worked.
    Download FCP Rescue to make this process easier in the future. When you have FCP running really smooth, open FCP Rescue and create a backup of your preference files. If it starts acting wanky, just run FCP Rescue and Restore your backup preferences. Works really slick, and it's free.
    EDIT: Or use the really simple explaination that X posted as I was typing.

    "Sounds like you guys are using the same apple id for imessage.   You will need to create a separate id for you wife.  OR go to settings - message - receive&send and make sure your phone number is the default for both you and yoru wife.

    You say you have iOS 7 beta. If you are a developer you have access to the private OS 7 developer's forum

    I linked through and submitted my info as a "topic not covered" in the iCloud section. After entering the serial number of my MBP it turns out I wasn't eligible for technical support (though I don't think this is hardware related support) and the final suggestion was to take my computer into an Apple store. I called my local Apple reseller and asked for assistance. The customer service rep was very nice but unable to help, so suggested I call Apple Support on 1300 321 456. I did so and, again, spoke to two very polite and helpful customer service people (I was transferred to security services). I didn't have to be on hold to speak to either rep for more than a few seconds! After trying a few different things, he worked out what was happening...
    So, to cut a long story short, to solve the problem in my OP, all I had to do was log out of iCloud in my System Preferences and log back in using my current Apple ID. [Edited to add that I had to sign out of everything I was currently signed in to with my Apple ID before logging out and in again.]

    I have iphone 4 and recently updated IOS to 7.0.4. After that, my iphone is keep going into 3G mode at home. I thought it was the problem with my internet or router. But my husband's iphone and our ipads are not having any issues. I turned off and turn it on many times. It eventually get the wifi, but it disconnects few times and it is really frustrating.
    Also, it seems to me that the battery is dying quicker. Am I the only person having the issue?
    How can I fix the connectivity issue? Or is there any way for me to go back to IOS 6? Some of appes don't work under IOS 7.

  • Can't talk to other apple products outside of wifi or when I don't have data. What's wrong and how can I fix it ?

    So I just bought a new iPhone 4S and I have to share my data with four other people so to avoid using it up I use wifi whenever possible. I use iMessage to talk to iPhones but when I'm not around wifi or when I don't have any more data, I don't receive any of their regular SMS messages but I can send them. I checked my friend's iPhone and he receives my message as an SMS but when he replied it was still in iMessage. Is it not detecting that my iMessage is off ?What's wrong and
    how can I fix it ?

    I think I fixed the apps, though.
    *Turn off your wifi and only turn it on when you want to use it
    *Lower your brightness
    *Turn off "Push" on notifications and mail and turn on "Manual"
    *Return to your home screen and then double click twice and tap and hold one of the apps you've previously opened, when they jiggle tap the red on each app until fully erased.
    *Don't use your ipod while it is charging, allow at least a 10 minute charge (fully charged) before using it again.

    I have a ipad mini and i have had it for less then a year, it says that i have perfect wifi up in the left corner where the wifi is always at  but when ever i go into the built in safari it says that it is unable to connect with the server. How can i fix this because with out it connecting to the server or internet it is kind of useless to me. I do have ios7 if that helps

    The wifi symbol only indicates the presence/signal strength of wifi. Not that you are connected.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app

        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
    Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
    You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi.     Did your wife tick the box on the Yahoo sign in page to remember her for two weeks?
    It would be best two have two separate Firefox profile folders, one for each of you to prevent such problems.<br />

    Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? If that doesn't work, try resetting the network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.
    If that fails, you may possibly have damaged the SIM. Verizon will need to give you a new one.
