How can I force the close of a third party ActiveX server.

We have a third party ActiveX executable that refuses to shut itself down once in a while. And when I say once in a while, I mean one out of every 20-30 times it's attempted. All termination commands are being sent and recieved properly, and all refnums are being closed. No errors are ever generated, all operations report successful, but the thing just won't die. Problem is of course, that if we attempt to restart our software after the ActiveX app fails to terminate, it generates server execution errors when trying to open a new instance. We are not expecting a speedy resolution from the third party, but it is becoming a great inconvenience for our customers. I would like to be able to kill the process thro
ugh the OS as a last resort. Problem is, to do that I need a ProcID. Is there any way to retrieve a ProcID for the ActiveX server through LabVIEW? Alternatives and suggestions are welcome.

Usually, a dialog would have an OK and a Cancel button, both can be served as the close button, but if user clicks the ok button (DefaultButtonWidget) to close the dialog, your dialog controller's (if it is based on CDialogController) ApplyDialogFields will get called so you can react to the OK action, otherwise, if user clicks the cancel button (CancelButtonWidget), nothing will happen. The dialog simply is dismissed.
See BasicDialog SDK sample to see how to add DefaultButtonWidget and CancelButtonWidget to a dialog.

Is there a way to force the unlock of a resource locked by other user?Yes. get a DBA to kill the session. Actually it might be better to kill the OS process.
Alternatively get the DBA to find out who the user is, and phone them up. This won't help if it's not an actual person (it might be a batch process).

For live migration, we can choose the desired network in Hyper-V Manager (Use these IP addresses for Live Migration).
I have two 10G adapters teamed together, the virtual switch is created on top as converged network with several vNICs (MangementOS, LiveMigratrion, Backup, etc...)
Each network is set with a specific VLAN to isolate the traffic.
The two Hyper-V hosts are on the same LAN and domain.

I have accomplished this by using a DNS pointer specifying an IP address on that dedicated network. That will force traffic done that network.

It is an informational message and would prevent you from working on database diagrams. The message says that your database has no valid owner currently. Reason for this error is that database owner on a previous SQL Server instance does not exist here.
To overcome this error just add the valid database owner through T-SQL or SSMS. Also verify the compatibility level of your database is correct for your SQL Server instance.

How can I force the Creative Cloud Manager to detect previously installed CC applications.

Being a tester of Windows 10, I frequently have issues with updates and have to completely reinstall windows, this means that I lose my CC installs if I don't keep them on a separate drive.
However, the issue is that if I do keep them on a separate drive, the CC manager can't detect that they're there. And I don't expect it to magically know that the files are there, I understand that the registry entries are no longer there, and whatnot. But I at least expect that it checks for the files when you go to install the application. It doesn't seem to do this and just overwrites the entire thing.
This may not be an issue for many people, but being Australian, with the government doing everything it can to slow down the internet, it takes a very long time to install 6 or 8 adobe programs for which the files already exist. All the while the internet is basically unusable.
How can I communicate to CC that these applications still exist.

While your answer feels like speculation, it wouldn't surprise me if it were the case, but what a feeble system it is if there's no way for it to be shown existing files.
Especially considering that you can launch the applications from the exe without them being "installed", they still communicate with the CC manager and are allowed to run.

I set up the access policy (AP) for the dbat connector (with Retrofit). The AP was triggered correctly to give resource DBAT to the user. When the user login changed, I called "Delete User" in the dbat connector and the resource is revoked from the user.
My goal is for the AP to be triggered so that a new dbat account is created for the user with the username.
However, the AP is not triggered again. I tracked this by selecting the policy_eval_needed in the user_provisioning_attrs table (1 access policy will be re-evaluated, 0 AP not evaluated).
Is there a way for me to force the AP to be re-evaluated?

How are you triggering the Access policy Assignation?
Hopefully ,if this is governed by the grant and revoke of role, you may first revoke the role for the account which is already revoked and grant the same role again.
As the previous account was in revoked status, a new account would be provisioned for the DBAT connector. Grant and revoke of role can be done through the SElf Service UI or a custom scheduled task.

I ended up un-selecting all the songs in library(edit->select all, then right click and uncheck), setting the ipod to "update checked songs only", then syncing which removed songs.
Then select all songs again, re-sync and solved.
Don't forget to undo the "update checked songs only" option.
I think the manual solution above may have been easier, but only read that solution now.

How can I force the Disk Cache on with Apple Raid Card?

I have an apple raid card in my mac pro that has now had it's battery fail twice. I don't really want to keep putting money into this and would rather just force the disk cache on and hope my UPS works, I don't use this box for real work anymore anyway and it's all backed up.
There used to be a force on button next to the Write Cahce Status section, but that seems to have gone away. Does anyone know how to force the cache on? Permanently if possible.

How can I force the font when authoring new or replying to email?

I have tried changing the font via TOOLS-->Options, but nothing seems to take. The resulting font is quite small.
When I reply to an email, the font is still small. Then if I use the icon to increase the font size, sometimes my reply text reverts to the smaller font.

How can I install OSX on a new third-party hard drive in my Macbook Pro?

I'll start off by saying that I bought my MBP (Mid 2009, 13 inch) used two years ago, and the seller never thought to mention that he had installed a third party hard drive not long before selling it to me... First problem.
Anyway, the hard drive crashed. I'm installing a new hard drive, but I'm worried about getting back to having Mountain Lion. I'm confused by the process - Some say I can start by ordering a retail copy of Snow Leopard on Amazon, some say I need the OS disc that originally came with the computer (which obviously I don't have), and some make it seem as if there's a special version of Snow Leopard I need to order from the Apple store?

There is no special version of Snow Leopard (other than what ships with a Mac of that vintage). There is a regular retail version. It is a good idea to have a copy.

After you install the new hard drive boot the computer from the OS disk, and install OS 10.6.
If you want a more recent OS, sign in to the App Store - use the same ID and password you have used here.
There you can download Yosemite, it's free.
I assume your MBP meets the requirements for Yosemite. If it does not, or if you want an earlier OS than 10.10, you should be able to find it at the App store.
