How can I free up storage space on my IPad? I have deleted all books, music, magazines, email, messages, most games, and I still have only 1.1 GB available. There are files in Diagnostics and Usage that I can't figure out how to delete. Can it be that and something else? Any suggestions are welcomed. Synced just yesterday and that didn't help. Thanks!

In iTunes, you can click on the iPad Device and check what type of files are using storage on your iPad. On the Summary tab, at the bottom of the page, there is a chart showing what type of files are on your device. They are separated into groups by color.
Once you have identified the color that's taking most of your storage you might be able to determine which files need to be removed.
Also, are you using DropBox with a lot of favorites selected or a few larger files? Dropbox favorite files are kept on your device, even when it isn't connected to the internet. This could also be true with other file sharing services like Sugarsync.

If you are trying to download an app and get an error about not enough memory, it's talking about memory on your iPad, not in iCloud. I don't know what you mean by purchasing more storage space for your iPad, you can't add more memory to a device. You may have bought more memory in iCloud, but that's not going to fix your current problem. You need to delete songs or video, or some other large files from your iPad to make room for a new download.

If you remove the music from your ipad, then you would have more space on your ipad.
You could not listen to the music until you donwloaded from icloud again, taking up the space again.
You would have to have an internet connection in order to download your music from icloud to your ipad so you could listen to it.

I've an Asus M2N68-AM Plus Motherboard in a HTPC with all SATA connectors occupied. What can you guys come up with as the cheapest way to add more extra storage space [via SATA]?

Note: The main idea is to maintain the existing HD's, cause I don't want to keep them unused or to loose money by selling.

If yes, buy a regular Sata drive and an enclosure (with a fan!) that has eSata as well as, or instead of USB... and just connect it that way

That's an issue of not having enough available space on the iPad itself, not in your iCloud account. (You can check the available space on your iPad by going to Settings>General>Usage and checking the Available number under "Storage" at the top.)
To free up space on your iPad, you'll have to delete something or sync it off with iTunes (such as some of your music or other iTunes media).

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities Forum. Normally what I see in regard to backup issues with iCloud storage space has to do with photos and videos taken with the iOS device. I would recommend importing this media to your computer and deleting it off the device. You can resync this media once you have it safely stored on your computer. Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space. Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
If you're using Time Machine to back up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of files you've recently deleted. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself.

You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size with the largest at the top. It may take a few minutes for ODS to finish scanning your files.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

How can I get my phone to take pictures again?

The most recent ios update from a few days ago contains a new feature called iCloud photo library. I would suggest getting the latest update and storing them there. That way you can free up that storage space... Read all about it...

The process is just like deleting an unwanted email in your inbox. Simply find the track(s) you don’t want on your iOS 5 device anymore, slide your finger over the track listing to the left or the right to reveal a hidden “delete” button, and then select “delete” and the track is gone. Unfortunately there’s no mass delete option, so those Backstreet Boys songs are gonna have to be deleted one at a time.

Unless you are attempting to download a sizable file, 2.7 GB should be more than enough to continue fucntioning. Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.

Thank you all for the help. I truly apreciate it. I have since reset my ipad for the second time by myself and it is ok now. I have a different problem at this time. My photo stream on icloud is greyed out and there are no backups for my photos. My camera roll and my photostream are both on my ipad, but don't show up in my set of folders on my device when trying to download or copy to my pc. It used to before I reset the ipad. I now have an iphone 4s, and hope to save up for a mac for artwork, but the response I recieved from apple tech is making me think twice. I asked either about the outlook mail dilemma or the photosteam problem, whichever it was I was asked if it was on the ipad or the pc that it was greyed out and I said on the pc and they hung up. I didn't get the chance to tell them that it was greyed out in icloud also. I solved the mail dilemma by using microsoft skydrive, since outlook is not used with windows 7, that solved the contacts, mail, reminders, calendars and notes. I had to figure that out by myself. Unfortunately without beingf able to browse my ipad's folders freely, I can't do anything about the photos. How do I get icloud to save my stream if it doesn't see it? I don't know of anyone with a mac, or I would see if their machine would see the folder. I'm thinking maybe I missed something in setting up. I have a bunch of folders that show that are imported folders, but there are a lot of them, some with only one picture in them. That's not what I would have done if I put in folders, but i am coming from being a total MS pc person to trying to work with apple. Things don't work the same and I'm trying to learn.
