How can I get a Power Point (pps) to open?

Hello. I have just upgraded to 10.4.11 from 10.2.8. Prior to upgrading, I was able to open power point presentations (pps)that were sent to me. Now they will not open. I believe I used PowerPoint Viewer 98 before, but maybe it wont work with 10.4.11? Would appreciate any assistance on this. Thank you.

It even works in 10.4! I just figured something out (after getting help in another post, I used the same system)---I moved the .pps out of my Mail file onto my Desktop. I then clicked on GET INFO. When that came up, the box marked OPEN WITH, showed 'None', but there was a drop down box which gave the option to go to the Hard Drive and pick one. I chose my Microsoft Windows 98 Power Point Viewer (which I believe is still available as a download) and it is now the default. I then clicked out of the GET INFO option, tried to open the .pps and it opened as it did before on OS2.8. So maybe I solved my own problem! Cheers.

You could try putting your SIM into an EE phone. It's only a SIM, it should be be able to send an SMS.

When you arrive tell the receptionist you want to purchase an iMac and they will have help you get a sales professional to help you. You can also use the new system Apple implemented this past week at any of the display counters to request a sales person come to you. Again the receptionist can help you get started on that too. Once a system is purchased and you buy the one on one service the one one one service is executed where it's more quiet than inside the store. Your Magsafe adapter may have died, also; I had to replace mine after 3 years or so - the darn thing ripped in half on me!
If you can, try another Magsafe adapter. You should be able to bring the computer to an Apple store and have them check out the hardware if you don't have a spare adapter handy. Make sure you make an appointment with the Genius Bar or you may be waiting for a long time!
Your hard drive should be OK if the only issue you're having is the computer refusing to power on at all. It's very easy to remove the hard drive in a MacBook (guide here, if you're interested; that's a guide for the non-unibody MacBooks but that website has a guide for all models), and you can either pop it into an external enclosure or use a SATA to USB adapter (like this) to hook it up to your new computer so you can retrieve the data.

Next time, post a response to the original question instead of starting a new thread. I was a little confused about your original question. If you want to read the position of a marker that your instrument is displaying, then you'll have to get out your instrument programming manual and see if there's a command to do that. If you gave us the name of the instrument, someone here might have experience with it and provide more help. If you have a marker position from an instrument and want to display it on your LabVIEW graph, you can use a cursor. Create a property node for the graph and you can set cursor position either by specifying either the array index (when cursor is locked to the plot) or an x and y position.

Try clicking on the apple symbol at the top left of the screen and chosing "Force Quit" and then close IM.

How can I get Lightroom 5.7 into the "Open With" menu on an external Harddrive?

Using Lightroom 5.7, I imported photo images as a .dng. I edited the images in lightroom. Then I dragged the file from the local Disk (C) to an external Hard drive (left panel of Library). When I look in the External harddrive, I would like to see thumbnails of the images. I think I would like to open the images in Lightroom but I cannot get Lightroom into the "Open With" dropdown menu. Photo shop, Adobe Reader and a bunch of Windows photo editing stuff is in there but I cant seem to get Lightroom into this menu.

The "open with" command is used to open images that are already in Lightroom in another external editor such as Photoshop or Photoshop Elements or some other photo editing program. And you are opening an image that you are already seeing in Lightroom. So Lightroom won't be on the list and cannot be on the list because you are already looking at the images in Lightroom.
Concerning the images that you moved to the external hard drive, if you actually moved them using Lightroom then you should be able to see that external hard drive in the library module library tree and be able to choose that folder. Then the images will be in Lightroom and you can continue working on them. There doesn't need to be any "open with" to do that. If you moved those images some other way, please explain.

Facts--Bought CS4--installed fine--problem noted with pop up that my video card needed upgrading--looked on Adobe site for suitable video cards, talked with Dell--installed nVidia G9500 which I was told should solve all problems--reinstalled PHOTOSHOP CS4 number of times when subsequently program tools refused to work (example--clone brush shows area chosen but does not deposit chosen texture/color, brush won't put down color, etc)--found update for video driver and installed--CS4 tools worked for 5 min then stopped--repeated former steps of reinstalling. Talked with both Adobe and NVidia, each points the finger at the other. I'm a Photoshop professional and need this program for my work.
I have multiple drive Dell XPS system, 4G RAM using WinXP32
Any Windows/Photoshop genuises out there with answers that neither vendor can offer?

Did you go to the Nvidia website and download the newest drivers? You did say if it was a laptop or not. Here is the driver page for the card. Just run the driver update on the webpage again if you have a laptop.
