Yo Chris. I've been following your answers to different threads and quite frankly, you're very keen in answering everybody regarding this stupidity that Apple has brought upon its customers. Kudos to you. But the problem is, most of the time, in some devices, your solution doesn't work because the NONE option is not there. The same goes for me.
Meanwhile, I found a temporary workaround for the iPhone 4s, iPad 2 and iPod Touch 4th Gen.
Register a free Apple ID from the iCloud Settings.
Go to Settings>iCloud>Account>Tap Payment Information on the Storage Plan Category.
Fill in the other boxes and choose "None" on Credit Card Information.
That's it! Hope I helped those who still couldn't find the "None" Option.
Must be running IOS 5.0.1 though, else there would be no iCloud.

You cannot get apps from the app store if you can't have a card. The alternative solutions are first you can use an account that has card information in it or you can jailbreak it but the second option is that you can use other people's card info but remeber to get the necessary permission from them and the third option is riskier and apple will not honor it.

You would have to go to the Mac App Store in order to find apps for your mac.

Wiping the computer was a problem if you didn't create a backup of your iTunes library. Anything on your iPhone such as music, videos, apps, etc will be wiped when you sync now since those items are probably not in your library. Typically, the sync is one-way from iTunes to your iPhone.
You can try File > Transfer Purchases to get purchased items from your iPhone to iTunes. Excluding what you transfer, you're essentially starting from scratch on your iPhone. Note that apps can be downloaded again for free but music and videos cannot.

Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.

I like the app tab feature and am using it for sites that I visit frequently, for example, weather sites. The problem I have is that when I click on say http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ta/arbroath_forecast_weather.html I get the site as it was the last time I used it. Today this meant I got a weather forecast starting from 2 days ago, not from today.

I am trying to get notified about App Updates from the notification Center. The App Store icon is not listed when I go to "Notifications" in System Preferences. I did see one article about it stating that if I disabled Spotlight in the "Startup .....(I cannot remember the word I saw in the article)" then they will not show in the Notification center. I'm sick and tired of being prompted to update to pages 5 which I utterly loathe. I keep trying to control-click the update which used to give the option to skip that update, but now I can't seem to get that menu item. Is there a way to do that now?
