How can I get Firefox to except the home page that I want to use

I have clicked and dragged the icon a hundred times, and still when I click on Firefox a previously set up home page appears.
This is very annoying because I can get to my homepage; but I have to sign on to yahoo e-mail every time; then go to my homepage and my bookmarks. I can't seem to get it to except the homepage I want to use..

If you want a customize Yahoo! page then make sure that you keep the Yahoo! cookies.

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

    Every time Firefox opened

    Firefox can have multiple home pages if you wish. Each home page that will open when starting Firefox is separated by the "|" character.

    Hi
    My Powerbook was the same. Only fix is to reinstall OSX from the install CD but be sure not to pick the Format and install clean. Once you boot with the install CD pick the preserve user data and settings.
    On My machine the reinstall looked perfect. My network, email, files and all the programmes were all there. Most apps worked fine but Adobe CS2, Virtual PC and NetBarrier all needed reinastallation as they reported a few files or registration was missing. I went for the 10.4.3 upgrade again and it worked fine.
    Good luck

  • I loaded a jZip programme, now whenever I start Firefox it open with the jZip search page and I can't permanently change the home page to my own selection. How can I get rid of theis iZip home page

    I have tried all the optons to change the home page, but when I exit from Firefox and restart, it will revert to the iZip search engine home page. I even deleted the izip search engine reference from the searchplugin directory but with no success

    You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar and do a search for <i>jzip</i> via the Filter at the top of the about:config page.<br />
    You can reset all <i>jzip</i> related prefs via the right-click context menu to their default values.
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
    You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

  • When I set my home page and restart Firefox, it reverts to iMesh, an inadequate search engine. How do I get it to retain the home page I set? I said yes when it asked.

    I go to Google, drag it to the home page icon and then acknowledge by clicking yes. When I restart Frfirefox it goes back to imesh.

  • How do I get Firefox to open my home page whenever I open a new tab?

    I have Google as my home page. Rather than opening a new tab and getting a blank page, I'd like to open a new tab and get Google coming up. I'm fairly certain that this was possible in old Firefox, and would like to know if it is still possible and if so how!?! Thanks!

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • How can I prevent Firefox Sync from syncing home page?

    I use different home pages at work and at home and I would like to prevent the home page from syncing.

    There are services.sync.prefs.sync prefs related to which prefs to sync and you can set the corresponding services.sync pref to false to prevent syncing that pref.
    You can set the pref <b>services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.startup.homepage</b> to <i>false</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
    *Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
    *Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
    *Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

  • How can I get Firefox to include the http when copying and pasting from the address bar?

    I know you can use "browser.urlbar.trimURLs" in about:config to re-enable the display of "http://" on URLs in the address bar, but I think there's an actual bug with hiding them in the address bar that should be corrected:
    When I click and drag in the address bar to select part of an address, including the beginning of the address, then use CTRL+C to copy it, and CTRL+V to paste it into something else, the pasted URL does not include "http://"; this is often inconvenient and will break in certain forms and so on.
    In Chrome--where I guess the http-hiding feature was copied from--if you click and drag to select part of the URL including the beginning, then copy, when you paste, the "http://," hidden in their address bar, *is* included. That's how it *should* work. Firefox's implementation is incomplete and frustrating.

    This is a known problem and should be fixed in Firefox 8.<br>

  • How can I get Firefox to open the page of a link I've clicked on in an email?

    Every time I click on a link, in an email (or in Facebook), unless a Firefox page is already open, I usually get my home page first. Then I have to go back to the email window to access the link again to get the page I wanted from the link. Is there a workaround?

  • How can I get Firefox to store the larger FLV Files in Cache ?

    I use Cache Viewer Revisited to save cache files & for some reason larger FLV Files won`t store in the FireFox Cache...
    Even under "about cache" Large FLV Files show as 0 in size

    You can try to check if the video is being fully stored by using a stand-alone cache viewer. eg. [http://nirsoft.net/utils/video_cache_view.html VideoCacheView]

  • How can I get Firefox to default to Unicode rather that Western ?

    This is the same question as the unanswered, archived thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/989012?fpa=1
    Firefox 33.0 displays mojibake+English instead of Japanese+English. It shouldn't matter whether the web page is encoded in ShiftJIS, EUC, raw JIS (though that's rare), or UTF8; all of them should be easy to autodetect.
    I can go to the View menu, Character Encoding, and select Japanese, but this should not be necessary. I shouldn't have to teach it to ordinary users.
    View - Character Encoding - Auto-detect is off, but even if I set that to Japanese it doesn't help. Hypothetically even if it helped Japanese it wouldn't help Greek.
    If I understand correctly there used to be an option View - Character Encoding - Universal, but that option was removed? WTF???????????????????????????????
    I've read a few expert opinions that I should change the web server to ... I'm not sure what I should change it to, because looking at the page again it seems that it already says Unicode ... but anyway, I don't think one of Japan's largest transportation companies will let one of their smallest personal individual customers barge in and reprogram their web server.

    This part probably didn't help but shouldn't hurt too much:
    body{
    background-color:darkblue;
    font-family:Arial;
    font-size:12px;
    background: #ffffff;
    This part should help, shouldn't it?:
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=unicode">
    How can I set auto-detect to use information from the web page, and to turn on auto-detection for web sites that don't say?

    For the third time: THE PAGE SENDS A META TAG:
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=unicode">
    but FF is auto-defaulting to Western and mojibake.
    "If the page uses Unicode then this should always work."
    What does the word "this" refer to? The fallback (manual auto-detect setting) worked for this page because this page only contains Japanese and English, and Japanese character sets include the Italian characters that are used in writing English. But, for the third time again, shouldn't FF automatically auto-detect it, and even for manual auto-detecting why was the Universal option deleted?

  • How can I get a refund for the u2 album that Apple charged me for

    I have just been charged £27.99 for the U2 album that I did not want. How do I get a refund for this. I can't stand U2!!

    £27.99 for the album ? If you are referring to The Songs Of Innocence album (£7.99) then that was given free to everyone three months ago, and was free until 13th October - you are sure that you've been charged, it's not a temporary store holding charge ? The purchase price should show on your account's purchase history : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store - or http://reportaproblem.apple.com on your iPad.
    If you have been charged for the album but you didn't buy it then try contacting iTunes Support via the above 'report a problem' link.
    Or you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • How can I get my iBook on the feature page?

    Is there a fee or way to be on the feature page of iBooks?

    There seems to be two ways, at least...
    - be a favored author/vendor with connections inside the company
    - create a fantastic book that helps to promote the platform and gain broad attention that can't be missed

  • How can you get firefox to refresh a web page like every few hours to keeep you logged into a account
